Creating a Facebook AD has it's three stages:
- The Facebook business manager set up
- Hyper-targeting your audience
- Facebook ads content
Facebook's business manager:
Head over to business.facebook.com and register for your free business manager account. From here, you should be able to advertise with your fan pages under your brand.
This is extremely important to note as you may be an agency (like myself) managing multiple client accounts.
Targeting your audience:
Once your account is created, you're going to create an ad with the following objectives in the business manager. These objectives are:
- traffic
- engagement
- video views
- lead form
And much more. These are the commonly used ones. Although this is dependent on your goal, choose one that suits your marketing objectives.
Once you choose your objective, you should now choose exactly what targeting you want. You can target users based on:
- behaviors
- Interests
- Demographics
These are generally the options you'll have when targeting. Once you have your audience targeted properly, you'll then have the ability to display a photo or a video to your audience.

Great video but I am wondering about your suggestion to check the Only when connected to wi-fi box. I and a lot of other people have unlimited data plans and even when I am home I seldom go on wi-fi. And I know a lot of other people are the same way. Just something to think about.

Gotta disagree with selecting the box 'Only when connected to wifi.' Nowadays, most people never turn off their mobile data so by selecting only wifi you are potentially losing this audience.
For video, it makes sense to just click wifi because you could be wasting money if people have a bad connection.

Very good video, but I have to say, I disagree not adding Instagram into it. I just ran a Facebook ad and added Instagram and most of my new sales came from Instagram.
Instagram is an amazing platform for advertising, but don't do them together. If most of your sales came from instagram, then your cpc would be lower if that ad didn't have any other options... You want to split up the ad as much as you can.
Depends on your business. We've started to add Instagram as well. Sometime it is beneficial to JUST to instagram ads vs facebook ads with instagram placements added to it
I agree, and since there is so much that rides on your businesses reputation through FB ads (re: applying for a store, etc)... I actually think Instagram is a bit more powerful as a tool, for my business at least.
