Hi Chase! Please answer my question as it's been bugging me. Why would you go with 'original audience options' instead of Advantage+ audience? I mean you set it up for 'broad' targeting anyway right (should function the same as adv+)? Thank you for the great content, appreciate it.
I'm unable to run dynamic ads within my direct-to-message conversion campaign. Instead, I have 12 ad sets within a CBO. While some are performing well and others have been deactivated, I'm now considering testing new creatives. Should I incorporate these into my existing successful CBOs or initiate a new campaign specifically for the test creatives?
Yeah I agree with some commenters here. There are gurus suggesting to ONLY go broad, even on brand new accounts, while some are recommending interest targeting as well. Even guys on reddit make it out like you’re an idiot for not going broad. And I get the concept - letting the ads target, I also feel like allowing the ads to go in front of faces who are interested in these products quite important as well.. Personally, I haven’t seen the best traction yet with broad. I get orders, but not a lot yet. I haven’t tried interest targeting all that much though (have years ago though).
Could this method work for insurance sales where there isn't a tangible product for sale but rather gathering leads? What would the tweaks be? Thanks so much for the content!! Good stuff!!
For this you'd want to run a 'Traffic' campaign rather than 'Sales' so users go to your website. You'd also potentially tweak their interests - have to see if there's a retargeting category for people who are actively looking at insurances (you can do this on Google Ads).

I crunched some numbers and thought about the advertising budget. You suggest $5 per ad set, but let's assume our purchase cost is around $20. For an ad set to truly pay off, it needs to lead to a purchase within 4 days for it to make sense to us. Taking this into account, it seems to me that $5 is too small a budget because we have to wait 4 days for 1 purchase. I'm leaning towards the idea that we should have increased the testing budget from the beginning. It may be more effective to set a budget of at least $20 for your ad set. Here's a quick breakdown: If it costs us $20 to get 1,000 views, for example, and our click-through rate (CTR) is 5%, this should theoretically net us 1 order if our conversion rate stays at 2%. What do you think? Increasing the budget could really give us a faster picture and speed up our efforts.

How much data do you need to run advantage? I have over 150 purchases tracked from 2022-2024 and 3k add to carts. The pixel doesn’t fully track purchases
How long will it typically take for an ad to convert to sale? We just started and so far have not generated one sale. So far reach is 2624 and impressions 3,140. Just curious if there is an average for this type of approach to work.
Are you familiar with the DTC method from other marketers that say interests, retargeting, and lookalikes are dead? Very curious to what you think. Very conflicting on what methods work and don't work. Is broad really the only way to go when running ads today?
I have heard from business owners generating over 1M/mo. that interest targeting works best at testing budgets in a testing campaign and that broad with ADV+ is best at scale. Essentially, use the data from interest targeting in testing campaigns to learn what interests/topics work best for your product or service and incorporate those interests/topics into the creatives themselves in the future. And as for the creatives you are already testing, take the ones from the interests that are converting well and then duplicate those creatives multiple times into a fresh campaigns (to horizontally scale) and scale the budgets for each of those campaigns as they perform with healthy metrics (to vertically scale).
You say don't do anything other than sales, but for my client's business they don't sell widgets - they sell countertops and installation. It requires a phone call and consultation. Can you explain why sales is the better option than leads for my situation?

Hey Chase, is the ROAS better if you were to split retargeting ads into a different sales campaign. Or should you combine the prospecting and the retargeting ad sets all into one sales campaign using advantage+ on facebook?
Test both! But if you have specific remarketing ads and offers then split them out so you ensure only certain retargeting ads show to the right audience so you can move them forward in the funnel.

There are 2 different type of campaigns in facebook ads
1- Sales > Landing Page View
2- Traffic > Landing Page View

You’ll get what you choose. If you choose traffic you’ll get traffic but barely no sales.
@Stadiontouri traffic results in a lot of add to cart, it seems.
Sales - will optimize for purchases
Traffic - will optimize for clicks. (Not quality traffic) These are click happy people.

Hey Chase! Quick question: How do you introduce new creatives in the broad campaign? Do you add them in a new ad set or in the same one and why?
When you scroll down to edit media, you can put in a new image and creative.
@@scottk4859 if you do that, you mess with the data and will not be able to analyse performance of creatives overtime.
1. Drop new creatives in a low performing audiences first.
2. Once new creatives are working migrate them into the other audiences for scale.

Using lead gen strategies or if it's a product you'll be needing to push a large portion towards retargeting.

No detail targeting at all? Can you explain why?
Facebook uses the content in the ads plus its AI algorithms to figure out who would be a good person to show ads to.
This is for retargeting and testing. Once you scale you select detailed targeting.
Brilliant video! Thank you so much.🎉😀
How much money do I need to start doing it?
$5/daily
do you still use intrests...? even with all the so called AI
For testing yes, it's still faster to identify creatives that convert and to get quick results before going broad for scale. Much smoother transition.
