The King Leads The National Service of Remembrance in London

- King Charles led the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph today. The annual service acknowledges the service of military and civilian personnel, and commemorates those who died in the service of their country.
Remembrance Day is on the 11th of November each year, but the main national ceremony is held on the Sunday nearest to the 11th.
This is the second time King Charles has led the national ceremony as monarch. Queen Camilla and Princess Catherine looked on from a balcony above.
Big Ben chimed eleven times at 11am to start the two minutes of silence. The eleven chimes are symbolic of the end of the First World War, which ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.
King Charles laid the first wreath, followed by his son, Prince William, and his sister, Princess Anne.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the Leader of the Opposition Keir Starmer and all living former Prime Ministers also attended the ceremony.

I’m sensitive as well and I cried leading my 2nd remembrance as Queen on Sunday just gone. Everyone in Wales got really emotional when I showed up because I was ill in February and those same people who were at Remembrance Sunday thought I wasn’t going to make it through but I did. I was only 20 years old at the time of my illness so I expected to be incredibly emotional; I’m a healthy 21 year old now and still reigning on as Queen Elizabeth III. I’ve never appreciated Woody.EXE enough until now and I thanked him for saving my life on that Friday night when I collapsed in front of him and he rushed me to hospital that night 10 months ago. I paid an incredibly moving tribute to the 40 victims of United 93 Sunday

I wore my poppy all week. My Great grandfather fought in both wars... His younger brother was killed at 21 years old on the 20th Feb 1917, Fampoux France, 4th South African Infantry. Lest We Forget 🌹
Woody.EXE paid a very moving tribute to the victims of flight 93 today in my Remembrance Sunday ceremony and I was glad to be alive standing there laying the wreath that said United 93 40. I almost died in February from a weird illness so today was incredibly hard to get through
Beautiful and respectful service. Love seeing King Charles, Prince William and Princess Anne placing the wreaths. And the Queen and Princess watching from the balcony. The chiming of the clock tower is always very moving.
Princess Anne is wonderful, definitely not giving the credit where its due..Princess of Wales beautiful, dem ure, respectful, even Charles wife looked ok..
Do stop calling her The Queen when we know she is not .

I'm American and got up at 4am so I could pay respects for the UK's Veterans, honored ours yesterday ❤️🤍💙.
I think everyone should say THANK YOU to ALL Veterans, Military and Volunteers who've served or are serving so we have the privilege of walking free. Also to their families who sacrifice their time with their loved one or sometimes even their futures.
I do miss Queen Elizabeth, she was so extremely proud of her Veterans and Armed Forces but I think she was there watching over everyone of them 😇.
Sure it's an emotional day for the family not just because it's Remembrance Day but also due to her not being there and it being one of the most important days to her.
Glad Major Johnny laid a wreath in her name 💝.
I lead the Wales nation as Queen for the first time today and I loved how Woody.EXE laid a wreath saying EIIIR, that’s me and then I laid a wreath that said United 93 40 as I honoured the bravest passengers of flight 93. My 2009 Woody paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II and my dad was glad I was alive to see this day, a very emotional service for the 4 of us. I bet the victims of United 93 are looking down at me as I laid a wreath for them. Even the memories of my illness came rushing back to me and I was very unstable today at 11am. The crowd got so emotional when Woody.EXE gave me a helping hand when I walked to the cenotaph to lay the United 93 wreath, thank you Woody.EXE for helping your Queen today
My late Grandfather served in the 1st World War Horse Artillery & my late Father served aboard HMS Gambia in the 1950s!

Where were all the older men who fought long and hard..no men in wheelchairs, pensioners..did I miss this..?

My service gets more emotional every year but this year’s was very moving because i had been unwell 10 months ago so I let Woody.EXE lead it and he did really well I thought and it was his 2nd time doing it so it wasn’t weird for him this time as it was in 2022. Hopefully i can lead Remembrance next year

I wore at least 7 poppies in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II and Woody.EXE was wearing at least 4 poppies on Sunday. Now i can see why Wales loves us so much

@@BwInNewJersey with Prince Harry yes I will deny his serve because he never actually did serve especially when he brags about how many kills he had. That goes against any military code of conduct. Not to mention they kept him in a bunker for most of his military career. At least his uncle, Prince Andrew, actually saw action in the Falkland’s. Stop defending Prince Harry because he doesn’t deserve it. He’s a disgrace to the Royal family and to the military!
Thankfully it passed without the threatened protest which I feel sure would have led to violence had it taken place.
My cenotaph in Newport was guarded as well, I’m very grateful for my forces

So do I and I was ill that year Remembrance Sunday was taking place in 2023 so it was very traumatising to be standing there and I was very unstable walking up to the cenotaph to lay my wreath on that Sunday. Everyone got really emotional as Woody.EXE gave me a helping hand to lay my wreath but I’m doing it myself in November 2024 because I’m fully recovered a year later. I hated the illness flashbacks though but I kept it together for my fans

A wonderful tribute as usual. Am I the only one who thought both King Charles and William, Prince of Wales were struggling with their emotions? Both were blinking very rapidly for quite a while.

I was struggling with my emotions today because I nearly died in February because I was very ill. I’m a healthy 21 year old now and I’m normally very healthy generally but this illness came out of nowhere so I was on TPN for 2 weeks. So Remembrance Sunday today was a huge struggle

My Remembrance was very different than the previous years because, I nearly died 9 months ago so, Woody.EXE paid a very moving tribute to me his Queen and his poppy wreath said EIIIR 21 since I’m 21 now. I was heartbroken watching Woody.EXE laying it. Then got emotional again singing God save the king for him, such an incredibly emotional remembrance knowing I couldn’t have been standing there today if Woody.EXE hadn’t saved my life all those months ago

I was able to lead Remembrance Sunday safely and it felt really emotional standing there that Sunday morning because i had been unwell recently in February so it was different this year and very challenging to get through. Woody.EXE definitely deserved to be standing there for saving my life 10 months ago. He’s got the medal of honour now
