I teach physiology and I am inspired by how clear and concise this guy is. He builds a foundation that even a layman can understand. What a great resource! I recommend him to all of my students.

Sir I'm a commerce student...but I love biology and organ functions... I have been suffering from high diastolic blood pressure since 2013....and through your videos...I came to know it's not the heart but the peripheral pressure that increases it... I'm watching your second part... I've downloaded all the four...and am watching one by one! thanks alot to simplify blood pressure in this great way...may nature bless you with rewards!!!! You are bringing an equilibrium in nature...it will surely revert to you in great manner

Im confused.. Isnt it that if you dilate blood vessels there would be more venous return hence increase in Cardiac output therefore the increase in blood pressure? Based on formula that Cardiac output is equal to Arterial pressure over Total Perph. resistance, meaning that if you increase TPR, you decrease CO and vice versa. Thanks for any answers.
During dilation, the space increases and blood can be pulled or filled more in the vessels, but the filling pressure is reduced in the heart because since veins are working against the gravity,so they do require to put some pressure for venous return , so due to this reduced pressure the venous return reduces and thus EDV reduces which decreases preload and stroke vol and CO and decreases BP
