    Cnc guitars are actually harder, because of all the thinking before the final product. I do same

      This is very true, every detail has to be planned, and small errors can make for big problems.

    Interesting way of making a hollow body guitar, i also seen an other luthier using a heat gun to bend sides on a guitar. I am kinda having the urges to try some thing that is not a full solid body guitar.

      I have used the heat gun technique and even the torch to heat a pipe. I eventually purchased an egg-shaped electric Iron and replaced the heating element; I still use it but not very often, usually for small stuff. The heating blanket and bending jug method provide far superior and consistent results. It's good to learn how to do this manually first; I would not be successful with the lessons I learned bending manual.

      @@TwoCherriesIns super interested... i'm just getting my workshop and cnc going and your channel has been wonderful. It's almost exactly the content i've been looking for. It's the right combination of hand built + automation.

    Where did you buy your heat blanket and temp controller? I don't see them at stewmac, and at lmii it's $182 for the blanket and $197 for the temp controller. Ouch.

      I bought it on ebay, I don't use a controller, it runs on direct 110v, I plug it in and when its bent I unplug it.

    You laminated the sides in the bending form? In one step while bending? What glue did you use that held up to the heat of bending?

    • @TwoCherriesIns
      @TwoCherriesIns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bent them together and then glued them. Two steps, not one, not heat when guiding. I use Original Tightbond

    • @rrhett2119
      @rrhett2119 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TwoCherriesIns But you used the bending form? I thought that is what you said in the video. Did you put the sides into a vacuum bag and then clamp that to the form, or how did you use the bending form to create your laminates (or did I misunderstand what you said)?

    • @TwoCherriesIns
      @TwoCherriesIns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rrhett2119 I just used the bending form to glue the sides after they are bent; Without heat. I just clamped them in the jig the same way they are bent to hold them together until the glue is cured.

      Do you think it would be easier, or possible to use hot hide glue between the side laminates then bend them , thus forming and bonding at the same time?
