Africa’s population will double by 2050 meaning that hundreds of millions of young people will need jobs. In every other region of the world, those jobs have come from manufacturing as countries used their cheap labour advantage to climb the wealth ladder. Is this still a viable route to prosperity or has technology changed the paradigm?
