I had the recoil SAM65 active and produced amazing sound. I beat myself for not buying when it was at 134. Price just went up. It’s natural sounding and with the 10inch audio frog at 60hz it was like I was on stage listening to the artist. I went 3 way with the SAM65. Best bang for the buck. Ran with a dsp and these speakers to me is amazing for the price even at 256.
Hard to argue with the Recoil. I mean, what better way to get your foot in the door. I'd like to see some in your hand for sure, with your honest take. Thanks for being here brother, I appreciate what you do!

The components I’m running I have six by nines because I prefer way more midbass but if my next vehicle wouldn’t allow six by nines to fit I would most definitely get the CT sounds three-way components set. I seen some comparisons with down for sounds three-way set on TH-cam somewhere and most people don’t like the sound compared to the model it was up against.

I appreciate your video an candid takes, however i think you have missed the discussion around the distortion of the different speakers and at which point the speakers experience cone break up. this distortion is pretty easy to see and measure with REW and other Acoustical RTAs. You can see both the secondary and third level distortion and at what power and frequency :)
@@CarAudioEnthusiasts fully understand the financial piece. BUT keep in mind that REW (Room EQ Wizard) is free software. You would need a mic, and those costs are anywhere from $79 to multi hundres LOL but most of us get by nicely with a decent USB mic...
Adding a set of recoil components to my s10 build next week ....was going to go with memphis or ds18 zxi s because i already run 4 zxi 3.5s and they preform really well ....and have a kevlar cone ...why i was going to go with their components as well ....but the buzz around the recoil and your rite they are beautiful ....even the cheaper set thats around 50 bucks looks nice .....we will be finding out on the 130 dollar set in your vlog next week ...
@@TheGodofSEOwill be purchasing a set wends ....morning ...I took the fold out seats outta m 98 s10 extended cab to give me more room for sub box and amps ....and made a custom panel to replace the bottom half of factory panel and it essentially a small enclosure....put a 6x9 in the bottom and going to run a 6.5 component set above the 6x9 ....actually even built boxes for the 6x9 and component set and recessed them in the panel so it looks like they are made in the custom panel but actually the each have their own box / enclosure.....and then just made a cover panel for the old 5x7 speaker that behind the top of panel from the factory and made them 3.5 in mid bass .....and have matching 3.5s in the dash
I've heard the k2 in multiple situations, and the tweeters require some serious attenuation. At least for my ears. Those tweeters can be pretty harsh sounding on the ear. You hit that recommendation, spot on!
I think the JBL 605 Club SQ also fits in with these sets quite well. Recently installed a set in my own car. Carbon fiber cone and a rather small soft dome tweeter, a little bright but with a bit of DSP they are super smooth and don't take much eq to hit harman target in my install. And, they come in around the $200 Mark!
I’ve also heard the K2 series has a bright sound, the hard dome may be better for PA systems. Best silk dome for the price is what I’m lookn for. Silk for mids/highs, punchiness in midbass. Another good one CAE👍
Great to hear your comment; I’ve been interested in the Focal k2 3 ways. However I have Audison Voce 2 way components in my Tacoma no DSP I’m using the crossovers that came with the set I also added the 2.5 inch Prima speaker ( this is the lower step below voce) but the combination of these three speakers really has surprised me and sounds fantastic even better than C7 jl audio speakers and tweeters on a similar set up. I’m thinking twice now about the focal speakers. I would highly recommend the Audison Voce and wherever possible use a three way for your complete front stage, I think you will be surprised and happy with the end result
Great video! I need to get a pair 5.25" component. Its for a 1991 bmw 325i vert, not a ton of depth space. Hoping to spend under $150 but would spend more for a huge difference. Do you have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe Infinity Reference series, but theres so many out there, who knows lol
@CarAudioEnthusiasts cool. No worries or hurry. Most cones are Kevlar or fiberglass. I'm either country, classic rock (70s/80s) a 90s mix of everything. I like the warmth of paper like your preference but occasionally play the metal bands and love the kick drum and screaming guitars. You always give up something to gain another... life will always guarantee you that promise lol

What you think about JP 3 set components,Recoil also have a set and CT sounds all around the same price $300-400.Recoil is doing an amazing job with what you get for your dollar.Im the type of person who will not spend 800 for some components but I will find a amazing person who can tune my $200-300 dollar set and make it sound like its $800
I've been looking at a speaker design lately that is supposed to be lower distortion. Have you had a chance to check out Dayton audios Epique E180HE subwoofer? The specs seem pretty good. Freq response 25 to 3khz, fs 35, 200w rms 4 ohm dvc, 14.7mm xmax ,.46 qts ,carbon fiber cone and alum basket. It is a 7" so it won't be a drop in, but for 250 a pair, if they sound as good as the specs suggest, they might be worth a try.
you say subwoofer, but 25 hz to 3khz's is a bit crazy. usually a woofer would play 25-35hz up to like 1khz, hard for an opera singer to hit steady high notes sittin on a jackhammer....lol. However ill check it out!

yea , its true I could do that. However, though I do have friends with systems featuring these drivers, they're in totally different installs. Speaking of Recoil something to consider is that Recoil is company that people often use to rebrand their products. Also what about a video on Class D and AB amps. Although Class D is more efficient does that mean that the SQ is the same when running Highs and Miss? Class D allows for the company to run a higher S/N ratio but most class AB amps for still in the 80 for S/N. Also what’s the longevity of the recoil amps. A lot of people are really talking highly about their speakers, their component sets and their subwoofers, but I would like to know what is the reliability of the recoil amplifiers. Recoil has a four channel class a B amplifier for 140 bucks but turn around and they sell almost the exact same spec amplifier class D for half the cost. I’ve been going back-and-forth if I should buy one of these amps to replace a very old alpine amp that I have.

I have the Rose Gold Recoil 6.5s in my rear doors on a DI1200.4 amp and they are incredible. Don’t sleep on the Rose Golds

yea if im running ANY focal mids highs, i always roll the EQ off around 15k, pretty quickly
