The Holland Tunnel is the prototype for long vehicular tunnels. When it was designed in 1919, it was the first tunnel for motor vehicles of such a length to require a ventilation system. Many engineering and design concepts for vehicular tunnels were pioneered with the Holland Tunnel, and subsequently employed with other tunnels built afterwards. Now, a century later, it's pretty impressive the design still works so perfectly!
Today, the toll is $15.00 cash. With an E-ZPass transponder, it's $12.50 or $10.50 (on-peak vs. off-peak travel times). The toll is only charged heading into Manhattan. There's no toll going to New Jersey.

Took my 03 cbr929rr from st paul mn to NYC summer of 04 I somewhat recall the trip from Jersey into the city but it looks different . good times .

I'm familiar with the old siding of the interior. Therer was an indication of the NY-NJ state line. I don't see it in this video.
