    Your video productions are always incredibly done, and showing the bass direct feed is a very honest display we all appreciate. My one wish would have been to hear the low-B of a 5-string. The frequency of an open E-string is approximately 41Hz which corresponds to the drop off in frequency of the 2x10 cabinet. The low-B on a 5-string is about 31Hz which is way under the response on the 2x10, but it just within the response of the 1x15. Genzler is lucky to have such a proficient demonstrator representing their products.

      You don't need a cabinet to reach 31hz to play a low B. The second harmonic is important tone for low bass notes.
      It's extremely rare to find any manufacturer that makes a 31hz bass cab. Its not needed and it takes some high performance woofers and good design to pull off.

      The 15 is rated to play down to 30hz and trust me it does. The B string is huge through these Genzler cabs. I run a 410 and 15 with the Magellan head and it is breathtaking.

      @jaredhouseman2094 With all due respect, that is a bullshit opinion. The fundamental of the note is 31 Hz. It would be ideal that a bass cabinet be flat in response down to that frequency range. It is in fact necessary if one wants the B strings fundamental be the same volume as the other strings. You are correct that bass cabinets rarely reach those frequencies as they have traditionally been built around an E string and utilize cheap woofers. That doesn't mean that's a good idea. Even without being flat to 31 Hz, a low B would have shown a dramatic difference in response between the two cabinets.

    What made you choose the 2x10 over a 4x10 + the 1x15? Apart from portability issues I mean? 😸

    Should rename the cabs. Those names are so clinical. Music has more personality. The Beast and the growler maybe

      Professional audio equipment like mics and mixing boards have no such requirements.
      It takes a lot of market research to come up with names that don’t sound cringy, as I hope you’ve just learned, so if a company chooses not to pour money into that you can feel confident they believe the product speaks for itself.

    Ughhhh....this is not a guitar cabinet demo! Why do bass players keep doing this? Okay, sure, copy people, but guitarist? Putting a directional mic that close to a bass speaker cabinet is pointless, as it will only pic up the frequencies that are come a function of the short distance (inches) involved. Whatever bass response your mics do record they pickup only indirectly and off axis, and a function of the reflected and colored sound off the room; and even then, if the room isn't big enough, the lowest frequencies won't propagate for having insufficient length for the wave to manifest at all, to be heard or otherwise measured. Its physics for God sake. While we're at it, you need to sit, at a minimum, 8 feet away to hear most of the sound, not a couple of feet, and a further 8 feet away to hear the bottom octave. the signal just doesn't exist as a direct signal until it has travelled its own length. The best that can ever be said of this kind of sound evaluation is...'nice sound room/cabinet interaction. Having said that they look cool, if however silly, because their frequency response goes pointlessly beyond the basses ability to generate. Looks like a capable PA speaker, which it is.

      Tell you what... go play your bass through a shitty, woofy, low end bass amp and then play it through this setup and tell me that you don't hear a HUGE difference.

    One thing I wish that was included with this, is the additional use of the picking technique. It would turned it into a complete and full rounded review.
    BTW: This is my exact current rig. It's a big step up from my old SWR goliath II 4x10 or my Eden D410XST cabs.

    • @funkingitup1805
      @funkingitup1805 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's a very transparent setup. My first thought was of a SWR rig I had played. Ampegs are cool, but I've always thought it made more sense to get a clear amp setup with good frequency response, and then run preamps for color.

      I’m confused you wish he would’ve added the picking technique in his video which made it sound like you’re a pick player that really wanted an idea of what these cab sounds like with a pick but then shortly after you say you have this set up already anyways? do you just want more representation for the pick players?

      @@swiftymcgarnagle4567 All. Ed Friedland kind of sets the standard starting point for equipment reviews. Even though the musical content is much simpler, he uses all the techniques to show you what you can potentially sound like. I consider this good practice. I'm not dissing Nate at all.
