Glad to see some SA runs, but i'm really worried about the weapon damage, other weapons get close to sub 5min only weapon vs monster, while the best SA run I've seen so far needs to use the environment to ensure some dps and not even get close. Hope the damage goes up in the final release because i find the moveset really fun. Great run though 👍
@@martingriette7611 I have the exact same feeling my fellow hunter ! This SA needs to be upgraded in damage and parry needs to make you immune to damage while you land it properly imo, im scared that they dont change it but on the other side i find the moves pretty cool!
This is all low rank gear with no damage boosting skills, switch axe scales well with an endgame set, not just affinity and crit boost, but stuff like power prolonger and there might even be a rapid morph. I'm not worried, come endgame switch axe will be on top!
@@SlySonic-xo6gz I agree with you but many weapons rely on specific skills in endgame to perform, like charge blade, gunlance or bow (I don't know if bow charge plus will be a thing in wilds though), and they all outperform switch axe in the current state. So, let's see in the full release but currently, I find SA a little underwhelming to play compared to other weapons. I hope this will change, wether it is via some motion values rebalancing or some OP skills
@@SlySonic-xo6gzI really dislike this hearing this all the time. In my eyes its no different than the level 1 vs level 100 argument. If something performs poorly at level 1 but gets way better at level 100 that doesn’t excuse it being bad at level 1. It should be a smooth rewarding progression from start to finish.
Agreed, I cant imagine playing without the constant morphs. Looks like Swaxe might be on the backburner till next "portable" game.. or maybe expansion will save it
Great run, but this is very disappointing that SA has to rely on environmental hazards to still come up short in speed run times. The motion value of each attack needs to be boosted by at least 50% and make the parry actually reward you properly for landing it. You can't have LS counters in the game and think what SA got is anywhere near balanced.
@@hengkyleonhart Yup... When i saw the moveset i was so excited than a bit disappointed. Taking that much damage and the parry isnt doing much damage aswell its almost useless in a speedrun :/ Hope they change it in the complete game
@qskjhdqsmlkdndj they want to see the full potential of a weapon from a player who understands the weapon. If multiple demonstration videos shows environmental usage than parrying, swinging, and style, it becomes a disappointing weapon despite the clear time.
Why they remove and nerf infinite morph slash combo😢 I want rise switch axe combo back. I dont want to do ZSD spam like world that’s no fun. Also need EBC back instead of that no to little damage parry
@@sutthikansakulrungsap1698 EXACTLY, If the parry was like you dont take damage when you land it properly and there was a decent combo with decent damage like in rise the run would be so much cleaner and the time closer to other weapon... Im disappointed with axe in wilds atm
@@philipdrainville3592 Tried fighting it with normal attacks and no trap i keep getting 10mins 9mins top timer swaxe sadly does less damage than other weapons imo
