There were two problems with American taskmaster, the contestants were unfunny, they were working for applause instead of laughs, and they didn't know eachother, which would be alleviated if stanz or his group would make their own
I don’t know why I’m so excited by an American to watch all these comedians I’ve grown up on. I just get giddy when he talks about them lmao! Hope you watch some more British panel shows!
I think our comedy is probably every brit is proud of, and having someone who isnt from our culture watch it and love it for the same reasons we do is a good feeling. Personally i got the fear that stanz wouldnt understand some of the jokes but its so amazing how he has kept up
Hello, American here. Started watched Taskmaster (and clips of other British panel shows) and I'm honestly mad at how much cooler your comedians and their shows are
I feel like stanz reacts to the content people want the editor edits in the clips that are iconic and stanz's commentary makes it feel new. Love this type of content
dude loving this series but can't believe you edited out Joe crawling on his knees and the contestants voting on it. that's the funniest bit! keep the vids coming, but pls show more of the studio reactions. they're too funny
FYI for non Brits: Richard Osman isn't a comedian but is actually a host on a quiz show called Pointless (where contestants have to guess answers that the fewest people out of 100 guessed) More recently he's got another sore call Richard Osman's House of Games, where celebs have to try and score points on various quiz like questions. He's also published a murder mystery novel. And Susie Dent is a lexicographer on a show called Countdown (a spelling and maths show). She covers the longest words that can be made from the letters round, and also has a little segment about the history of certain words and phrases. There was a comedy panel show called 8 out of 10 cats, which featured John Richardson, which later merged with Countdown (an unusual but successful combination) and Joe Wilkinson appeared on it, mainly as comic relief with the joke that he's obsessed with Susie. That's why he was so 'familiar' with her.
I love watching you enjoy these! Funny you say about them being comedians though.. there's an official Taskmaster podcast where one of the contestants in a later series (a comedian) watches back through all the episodes with random other past contestants and they discuss the episode and their own experiences and I remember one episode they discussed whether they felt as comedians they should try and bring a bit of comedy value to the show but in reality they all felt like the show format itself WAS the comedy and that in reality the comedians (and contestants) felt that they could pretty much be themselves and the nature of the tasks lent itself to comedic moments anyway.
Dude, as a massive taskmaster fan, this is the most interesting thing i watch and i look forwards to it massively. Having completely fresh eyes watching my favourite comedians and laughing at the same jokes i did is really refreshing
Ya, the prize tasks for the first 2 seasons were pretty insane. They unfortunately toned it down after this, but also understandable, probably best that the contestants don’t have to give their life away/spend thousands every episode.
This was a great pick to react to! Taskmaster is the one show for me that never gets old, even the one weaker series i can think of (series 6) still has incredible standout episodes and moments. Can't wait for the upcoming series 12, it has an amazing lineup.

This show is amazing and your reaction makes it that much better, but I have to say the episode was edited way too much imo. The whole bit about the decision on the “stepped on the red green” thing got cut and that is gold in this episode
I’ll rather you don’t edit this episodes since the whole 50ish minutes are pure gold on this show, just my take on it but you do what’s best for your channel
“Has she lost her accent?” Dude, if at all, she would have gained an accent. Every English speaker in the world has an accent. You have one as well, an American one. :)
Fun fact. Most of the Germanic languages are the same. For example if you can speak 'old English' you can basically make your way around Germany, Norway, Denmark etc. The words are not perfect but it will just sound like you are speaking in a weird accent. And should get you through most tourist questions. There's a really good documentry about it. Where a guy learns 'old English' and then has to make his way around those countries only using what he learnt. It's amazing just how far and what they understood.
If anyone has listened to the Taskmaster podcast you know Doc genuinely didn't enjoy doing the show for the most part, at least doing the tasks though his expereinece overall was positive and that just makes his frustration better.
