There's three separate places where you have to change the minSdkVersion value to at least a 16. Mine ended up being a 26 because that was the lowest value for version 8.0. If you don't change them all, they won't work. Check all the config-related areas toward the top.

Because it uses Android Studip it should be possible to upload to Google Play. You will need to make sure you can change the internal version code (each update needs a unique code) and then you need to make sure that each version is signed with the right Keystore file, again all can be made in Android Studio.
@@jameswatson7246 Yeah dude; if anything I'd end up writing my own thing to make it happen. Fun fact, when you export it to android you aren't actually making a true apk, you're just building a web renderer that draws it in Canvas2D/WebGL still; so you rely on how bad the interpreter might be
The set up options are different for android Studio version in the video, the Github download has a different file name to the video, the files shown in Android Studio are different after importing, there's no visible way to add an assets folder anymore, build.gradle doesn't have the "applicationID" line in it. Really struggling to find a working tutorial for the current versions... Don't think I'll ever get my game on android...
ThianxiaWuthi most likely failed because it doesn't exist in the folder. Best option is when you deploy to android/iOS don't exclude unused files cuz it removes the wrong ones
If i ran it as administrator, I usually had to wait about 10 minutes for android studio to finish loading everything before the app folder showed up for me. Did you give it time to load?

It only shows Module, file, scratch file, directory, c++ class, c/c++ source file, c/c++ header file, gradle kotlin dsl build support, gradle kotlin dsl settings, edit file templates, and resource bundle. I have a super dumb question xD Once you have a developers license and put your game on IOS/Android, the touch screen acts basically as 'mouse clicks' right? I just wanna make sure :p

Thanks for the tutorial, I had to do a lot of crap in the last method, however I got it all fine and I'm literally used to it now. But, I'm kind of asking how do you split the apk file? Like having its own obb and apk as well. Cause there are some instances where a 100+ mb game requires an obb for less lag.
Thank you very much. I only saw an apk file in the end of the video though, the one you built before testing it on bluestacks. How do you make it have a separate obb file?
So I got this to work by making sure I ran Android Studio as an administrator. However, when I finished the game and played it on my android, the game wanted my background music to be in m4a format. So I had to convert them and try again. Now, the game runs without interruption, but the music doesn't actually play. Has anyone else run into this problem? Do you have any ideas how to fix it?

@@TeamUnpro Another one I keep getting is "Gradle sync failed: Cause: org.jetbrains.plugins.gradle.tooling.util.ModuleComponentIdentifierImpl.getModuleIdentifier()Lorg/gradle/api/artifacts/ModuleIdentifier;" If it's not one error, it's the other, and very occasionally neither. :( I'm about to pull my hair out over here.
Looks like I've solved this issue, thank goodness. Apparently I had 2 different project file zips. The one ending in "6b33d6f" doesn't work, the one ending in "329ce94" does. I'm not sure why I have two different project file zips, but I obviously downloaded them that way so the root cause is likely me being a goober. ANYWAY I seem to have a stable, reliable project file to use now - hopefully deleting the assets folder and re-importing it won't screw things up... wish me luck, and TY for your videos! (Liked and subbed)
You're great, thanks a lot, i suscribed, liked and shared!!!! wonderful tutorial!!!!!
Great tutorial.
how do you open the menu though?
tap with 2 fingers
This is mind-blowing I always wanted to try my game on android
What about the scripts and custom graphics that are included in my game will they also work?
Also how are the controls on phone? Like interaction and moving and accessing menu, are they easy and can they be configured?
Also one last thing, we can't get the game on Google play can we?
Thank you very much for sharing this, it has amazing potential
All custom scripts and graphics should work just fine :)
As for your google play store question, check here: developer.android.com/studio/publish/index.html
Because it uses Android Studip it should be possible to upload to Google Play.
You will need to make sure you can change the internal version code (each update needs a unique code) and then you need to make sure that each version is signed with the right Keystore file, again all can be made in Android Studio.
From the part where you replace "RPG Maker" with "something unique" nothing aligns. Can we get a new video?
I probably wont be making a new video for this, it's a major PITA to work with
@@TeamUnpro thanks for letting me know. It is a pain for me too.
The "App" section just doesn't exit for me when I open the project folder. I know I'm waaay late but any advice?
Thank you so much excellent tutorial. Subbed and liked! :)
i got error : Failed to laud: audio/bgm/03_Ice_labyrinth.m4a
ThianxiaWuthi most likely failed because it doesn't exist in the folder. Best option is when you deploy to android/iOS don't exclude unused files cuz it removes the wrong ones
That's right. That "exclude" button often makes my export useless :D
I clicked on the Project and it doesn't show the apps folder. I ran it as admin and such it doesn't show up.
If i ran it as administrator, I usually had to wait about 10 minutes for android studio to finish loading everything before the app folder showed up for me. Did you give it time to load?
Using the newest version of android studio. When I right click, and hover over new, it doesn't show folder anywhere. It only shows Module, file, scratch file, directory, c++ class, c/c++ source file, c/c++ header file, gradle kotlin dsl build support, gradle kotlin dsl settings, edit file templates, and resource bundle. What did I dp wrong? -_-
same here :/
I have a super dumb question xD
Once you have a developers license and put your game on IOS/Android, the touch screen acts basically as 'mouse clicks' right? I just wanna make sure :p
can you make a video how to put joysitck and action button on top of the screen
That'd take an entire series of videos lol, as it'd involve diving into programming (so I'd have to explain as I go), and then the longest part, figuring out how tf android studio's changes work xD
hey if your having trouble then with the assets folder dont open just the "app" folder use the whole file/folder
I have no app folder in anroid studio and create asset folder is also missing. Could you help me?
nope, this tutorials way too old plus I already knew next to nothing about android dev from the start
hey i have rpg maker mz! any idea on what folder to use as asset since i dont have a www folder???
Which ever folder contains "index.html" is the one you want to use
@@TeamUnpro it actually comes in the main export folder with all the other folders in it ...weird.
@@TeamUnpro I keep getting can't open local files on my computer, and an error when trying to open on Android
The game works but the screen is black
help pls >.
it still harder compare to other game creator software like Game maker , Click fusion. Why dont RPG maker developers dont make it simple like other?
That's a very good question. Probably due to some licensing cost or something
It's so fucking retarded. I wasted 200 hours because I listened to one of you and changed the names of my assets so they didn't have spaces. Now nothing links. It's really fucking basic shit to read filenames with spaces or to auto convert them. I paid like 50$ for this stupid fucking game maker and this is what happens when you try to deploy? Trash
Does not work. Please explain it doesnt say app at all. It says the name of the folder
I thought my life was over because I couldn't find Crosswalk anywhere else.
Ghawd! I hope I won't have to use that here with this method. Thanks.
"java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: com.android.builder.internal.aapt.v2.Aapt2Exception: AAPT2 error: check logs for details"
This error has happened here. How to solve?
hey so i followed your video and trouble shot via the simone044 convo, when the app starts up i get an error, "typeError cannot read property 'lenght' of undefined" any help would be much apretiated
Everything worked perfectly but when i open the app it shows a black screen with the android logo in the side, which is weird cause i made sure that I have the right android version.
Same... This happened to me when my game's apk reached more than 150mb
"Type error Undefined is not a function"
I know this is a bit of a old video, but I got everything to mostly work, built the file, built the APK, got it on my phone but the custom music is missing for some reason. Can anyone help me with this?
im wanting to upload to the google play store.... it wont let me o.o why?
For those who are still having issue with assets folder option, run in admin mode and
please wait till "#all_the_running_processes" have finished !
it is still greyed out for me
Edit the build.gradle file and change the sdkmin from 14 to 16 sry a lil late
Thanks for the tutorial, I had to do a lot of crap in the last method, however I got it all fine and I'm literally used to it now. But, I'm kind of asking how do you split the apk file? Like having its own obb and apk as well. Cause there are some instances where a 100+ mb game requires an obb for less lag.
This method splits it automatically, or at least it did for me
Thank you very much. I only saw an apk file in the end of the video though, the one you built before testing it on bluestacks. How do you make it have a separate obb file?
Considering I don't even know what a .obb file is I wouldn't know, sorry xD
Ok, thank you so much ^-^
So I got this to work by making sure I ran Android Studio as an administrator. However, when I finished the game and played it on my android, the game wanted my background music to be in m4a format. So I had to convert them and try again. Now, the game runs without interruption, but the music doesn't actually play. Has anyone else run into this problem? Do you have any ideas how to fix it?
Fantastic, it works very well. Only a thing: can I change the name of the game Icon? in ID i've put a name but in the output still figure RPG maker...
PSA: Run Android Studio as Admin or you wouldn't be able to access any of the Asset options of the menu.
I ran it in Admin mode but still not working
I'm getting an audio/bgm error. Something is failing to load even though the .m4a are there and the .ogg. PLS HELP
Hey, having the same problem, have you found a fix?
Hi! does this work with a RPGmaker game folder i.e the game files that comes with distributed finished games or must you be the creator of the file?
to summarise, can i use the installed game file with the .exe to convert? >w>
thanks again!
Can someone help me? I am unable to create a folder

Hey, I have followed this tutorial very carefully but on my regular phone (android 4.4) it is just a white screen, and on my android 6.0 phone it says webpage not available... What do I do???
Did you select older android versions in Android Studio?
lol, I am having the exact same problem haha. and I also made the older android versions are installed.
Is there any plans for you to do an MZ android port tutorial? With all the new accessibility MZ has, I really want to make a game for android.
I may try yeah
@@TeamUnpro you're frickin awesome bud!
Does this work with MZ?
does this still work? i can't seem to make it work on mine. maybe because its not no longer updated?
Hi! I made this to! But my game in android keeps showing a black line in the screen. I test in different results. But it's still showing. How you managed to get rid of them?
nearly all audio files are missing after when I test
how do i fix this?
wtf is android studio i cannot find a single thing you showed in this video
They change things a lot for some reason.
You should build the apk as release.
You build it as debug which contains unnecessary debug data and is less optimizied.
Okay I right click on app and all I see is
Module
Sample Path Directory
File
Scratch File
Directory
Image Asset
Vector Asset
But no Folder
yeah thats where im at, thinking its different since the android studio update
nope just need to right click program icon and select "run as administrator". Thanks commentors!
Oh yeah I should have edited this because once I made this comment I discovered how to do it via the commenters. Thanks guys. :)
Now my issue is the BGM.
It tells me it failed to load on the phone
@@fan354 what issues do you have with the BGM? maybe I can help
unpro i have a question does the game itself slow? on android? like below the average FPS??
I've noticed that my game actually runs smoother on my phone than on my laptop, but my laptop is almost 6 years old now.
it works, but how are controls in a touch screen, for instance if i want to enter or exit from the menu, pause? how...
Tap with 2 fingers
@@TeamUnpro 100 thanks
Wtf, it works for everybody, but for me I dont f****ng understand the SDK problem, It says that it's an "non-ASCII" folder, or something like that, what do I have to do ? seriously it pisses me off
Wait is that map a template map or no? It just looks really familiar to another game I've seen
It is, iirc it was a default map for RPG Maker MV
@@TeamUnpro Ohhh okay thank you
