  • Struggling to achieve consistent results with your lash lifts?
We have a simple technique that can boost your confidence in determining the perfect processing times! We've all felt that nerve-wracking uncertainty about how long to leave the lotions on, fearing under or over-processing. While all lash lift systems offer a range of recommended processing times, it's ultimately up to you, the lash artist, to know when the lashes are ready for lotion removal. To help you take out the guesswork, try this flex and set check method:
    Flex Check (Step 1 Lotion)
👉🏽 Approximately 30 seconds - 1 minute before your estimated processing time, use tweezers to carefully peel a single lash away from the rod and bend it downward.
👉🏽 If the lash offers some resistance and bends into a “C-SHAPE,” consider extending your processing time.
👉🏽 If the lash is soft and flexible, bending down onto itself or forming a “V-SHAPE” or a "DEEP U-SHAPE" it’s ready for lotion removal-indicating the disulphide bonds have been successfully broken down.
👉🏽 Keep in mind, it is important to be very careful during this control check as excessive tension on the lash can cause weakness.

    Set Check (Step 2 Lotion)
⚡️To determine lash readiness, carefully peel a single lash all of the way off the rod before letting go.
⚡️If the lash bounces back into the curled position, the lashes are ready for lotion removal.
⚡️If the lash doesn’t move, the lotion will need some more time to work its magic!

This technique is so useful to those artists who don't like playing the guessing game with their processing times. There are so many factors that can affect the recommended processing times of lash lifting systems including different lash types, environmental temperatures or even your client’s change of medications. It is best practice to be prepared for every scenario, and feel confident in the processing times chosen 💪🏽
