    I really hope this becomes a series! Maybe I’m just a nerd but I always enjoy seeing people tinker with guitars and seeing problems that people fix and sharing the knowledge.
    Also I think it’s a keeper, I’m a sucker for Floyd’s but hard tails are amazing
    Great video as always!

    Man, these Schecter Jeff Loomis models were so much value for money.
    One of my buddy´s students has the black model with the Floyd and the active S. Duncan Jeff Loomis pickups and that thing is an absolute workhorse metal axe. And yes, the maple fingerboard is very yellow-ish but the frets are great, stainless steel too.
    Definitely a keeper.

    Nice job! Keep this thing! About 1.5 years ago I did this same thing with a 2008 MIJ Jackson DK2 that I picked up for $250 US with a hard case even. It was in exactly the same disgusting condition your Schecter was, but it cleaned up great. It has a couple chips in the finish I touched up and unless I point them out you’ll never see them. It has such a beautiful flame maple top in blue, I’m really happy I was able to save it and return it to its previous shred glory after it suffered so much neglect. Love seeing other people do the same thing

    amazing, i recently picked up a limited jeff loomis randall signature V2 halfstack in white for 600€.. schecter startet making guitar pickups before they become a guitar manufacturer, their american made pickups are some of the best i have ever played so far.so no need to change them and no comparison to "designed by" PU garbage that other brands are using peace 🙏

    dude thats just called vintage, so just add 100% on it and sell it as "relic" or "aged", people are going crazy about such (nonsense) overpriced guitars😂..amazing work by the way! that just reminds me on how i love schecter guitars, the old S2 and tempest models are less known and some of the best and most affordable guitars schecter ever made so far imo, you can get all kind of versions like platinum, custom, blackjack and hellraiser for very little amout of money on the used market, so maybe just pick some up for cheap and mod them to your liking just as usual. cheers 🎸

      Considered it but the black chrome Grover machine heads on these models are super rare and Im reluctant to bin them. Does the voltage mod add more gain?

    • @t_separator
      @t_separator 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ChilledGuitarReviews they have little bit more gain. But when you adjust the pickup hight you can dial it back. The biggest difference is the headroom you get and a better feel. The headroom is very noticeable when you record DI, it isn’t as compressed as with 9v. The feel is less stiff and you can dig in harder before the pickup starts clipping.
