Sure, there are the American Derringer two-shot "Standard" derringers & diminutive 5-round NAA Mini-revolvers, but where are the .22 Magnum pocket autoloaders? Sure the grip would be a bit wider (.22 WMR is 0.366" longer than a .380 ACP), but capacity would give pocket. 380s a run for the money.
Ive been wanting a micro 22 mag pistol for ccw for years. I think tgat long case and rim is just a b...itch to make reliable in a short recoiling slide. Idk how the ballistics stack up to 380 out of a short barrel either...so there is that
My PMR-30 doesn't have those problems but I also put every MCARBO upgrade into it, except for their stupid optic mount. A big part of rimfire issues are ammo/cleaning. Plinking rounds will always fail so often. Quality ammo matters.
clean and sand all slides with 1000 gr paper and oil lightly, they come dry. i have one even sand the insides of mag, you will see a difference, oil with 3 in 1 oil
The new Tempo barrel don’t allow a bullet to be feed until the fire bullet exit the barrel… that allow the gun fraction of time to feed a properly… they tell you “if you shoot rapid fire about 200 - plus bullets continuously the gun need time to cool a little if not you can have feed malfunction… but after break-in and cleaning you have 30+1 bullets available… specific keep on over 40,45 or Federal 50 grain having enough punch and enough extra gases to shoot/eject/reload… with a loaded gun and extra clip you carry 62 bullet 50 grain 1800-2000 fbs…federal 50 grain SB(short barrel) is designed with a super fast powder to be burned complete on short hand gun barrels… the only things is you have bigger more noise/flames but is a good deterrent to bad guys who don’t know you shoot at him with a bigger gun caliber…i have 357/44 magnum revolvers and MP 20 magnum…yes use heavy 45-50 grain SB (short barrel) ammunition.. you always carry very high capacity weapon…

check out videos on prep for the PMR I have one and i did what the video said and no more problems. they come dry, you need to sand slides with 1000 gr paper even the mag, oil with 3in1 oil lightly even sand the ramp into the barrel...

I have been a life long 22wmr fan, like, 50 years. EDC, CC, rifle varmint hunting. You name it. From NAA mini revolvers through Taurus model 72 Arcade break-down pump action rifle. (Which is an absolute Tack-Driver by the way. If you can find one). Recently purchased the S&W M&P pistol and love it. Hornady Critical Defence 45 grain does not fail to feed, eject or misfire. While lighter grain, and non-jacketed lead bullets do. (In my experience.) I routinely mag-dump 30+1 magazine loads from 30 feet putting at least15 in the kill zone of the target. In FOURTEEN seconds. (I'm 70 yo) That is lethal performance up to an Elk, IMHO.
There is still the issue of rimfire miss fires in a semi auto format. A revolver, even with its diminished capacity, still goes bang after another trigger pull! Rimfire ammo for self defense, I don't think so for my wife...
The PMR-30 is "not that much heavier than a standard duty pistol?" It weighs 14 ounces unloaded; a Glock G19 weighs about 21 ounces unloaded. Probably every standard duty pistol weighs 5-10 ounces more than that.
Chambering a handgun in 22 magnum with a barrel shorter than 6" is quite pointless...you simply can't take advantage of the rounds ballistics in a short barrel. You might as well buy a 22LR and use significantly cheaper ammo. You're seriously kidding yourself if you think a 4" 22mag pistol is a good choice for self defense.
There's a good reason why 22 magnum rimfire as remained out of semi-auto platforms for many decades, and discontinued from others. It has to do with physics and the inherent design of the cartridge. It also has to do with case ruptures, reliability problems, and ammo sensitivity. Also factor in lawsuits and injuries. If you've never heard about this, then you haven't given 3 minutes of your life doing a search on the issue and you should. This stuff isn't a problem with .22LR but it is a problem with .22wmr. I will never buy a semi-auto for .22wmr as I don't see any benefit to it, or any need. Breech loaded, single shot, beak action, revolver, lever action, bolt action is plenty for the venerable .22wmr.
It is not possible that I am the only person in the United States that realizes that 22 magnum out of a pistol is wasteful. Without rifle barrel length there is no advantage to this caliber.

The RIA pistol is garbage, I couldn't get it to feed anything reliably and it fired out of battery one time sending a piece of brass through my second knuckle of my trigger finger. Another time I was at the range with 2 friends who both had keltecs and neither one of them got through the first mag before putting them away for the day. This channel is real garbage. They must read everything straight off the MFG's website
My neighbor gave me a Keltec about 5 years ago with the same issue but it was more with the top of the magazines . A little filing at the top of the leading edge to get it smooth and feeding properly and no issues since. Best free gun I ever got lol.

I hated cleaning the m&p traded it in. I like the xt the best, the keltec is a good shooter but its soooo plastic if you get my drift.
