  • DOE's Storm Window and Insulating Panel Campaign, or the SWIP Campaign for short, is an initiative run by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, with a goal to increase adoption of low-e storm windows - particularly where full window replacement is not feasible.
Energy-efficient window retrofit options have largely been limited to repair or replacement; leaving the homeowner to decide between affordability and deeper energy savings. A new and improved low-e storm window boasts a combination of curb appeal and energy efficiency, all for a fraction of the cost of window replacement.

I bought 2 Larson storm windows to replace the old ones that are in my house. They fit perfect and work great. I was able to replace most windows in my house but the big pic window with the 2 side windows were way too expensive to replace and the Larson storm windows were a great alternative. It was an easy switch out, the frame had lines that if need you can take metal snips and cut to fit. I have 2 other windows I planned to replace with storm windows, however you can no longer buy the Larson's storm windows because they, for some unknown reason, discontinued the product. These were an economical option for me, easy diy, low e energy efficient, easy to order online. I have been searching for options but have found none. They want to come in and do a consult for a storm window there was no way to just order off the sites. By the time you get done with the bs you might as well buy replacement windows. I don't understand why there aren't more companies offering standard size replacements and having the lines in the frames so you can cut if needed to fit. It is just a simple storm window, gheez.
