I purchased the kit a few days ago and I am very happy I did. I can't believe I am able to reach this level of quality at my home office, it sounds like I am in an expensive studio. The mic and the shock mount as simply superb. One of the best audio equipment purchases I've ever made. Thanks Rhode!

I can't get the ASIO drivers to work. At all. That is, I can hear playback, but input is soundless. Non ASIO in other programs is working, alas my various DAW's don't show inputs with DX or MME. Im on windows 10. Anyone have any workaround? I have tried usb 2, and usb 3 if that matters

@@trevormastro4953 sadly, I never figured it out. It seems to work on Mac, so I figured it not to be a hardware issue, but a driver issue. I ended up buying a larger interface, as I needed more inputs. Its sad though, as the AI-1 seemed like a solid interface.

Can someone please tell me if I will damage my RE-20 dynamic microphone if I use the interface with the phantom power on. I ask because the AI-1 interface I just got three days ago keeps the light on, indicating the phantom power will not turn off. I should also mention that it did work properly for the first couple of hours the first day I used it. But the next day it would not turn off.
The instructions that came with it say the power needs to be off when using a dynamic mic.

Sagax Arcade: some indeed will. I don’t. I bought a cable here (USB C to Lightning/Japan) and it was incredibly expensive. There aren’t too many USB C to USB C cables yet. At least not where I live. I’m sure they will increase as time goes by though. Especially when the third party hard drive manufacturers start including USB C - to USB C. Of course, I would expect to pay for this cable to be in the box. It would just make life easier.

It's such a shame that we must buy a fethead or any time of preamp to use this with your own PODMIC(-57dB), i would have loved to buy that combo(PodMic, PSA1, Ai-1, XLR cable) but having to buy a preamp(70$-150$) to get enough gain to use it is a disappointment.

I can't find a review that describes how well this works with monitors. I'm looking to replace a Focusrite that has noisy outputs.

If you have a decent AI you dont need AI 1,just invest in a good mic and other gear.

wow not a single response from rodes on the questions lol -1 also if you look you can't find the spec on the usb... just calling it usb-c don't mean diddly blokes. it does not state spec on site that i can find either and again... you did NOT answer the question the spec on the usb. usb-c is ONLY the jack and nothing else. another -1 although i like my old NT-1A i don't think i am interested at all on this device due to no answers and no specs cheers

laa vie Focusrite preamps are better than Rode also it has one more guitar/line amp which is missing here in rode. Also with Focusrite we are getting bundled softwares, plugins, vsts which is very useful.

Except the headphone output on the Scarlett is terrible. This one has a much more powerful headphone out.

Unfortunately not, we'd recommend something like the RØDECaster Duo if you're looking for more complex audio routing: rode.com/en/interfaces-and-mixers/rodecaster-series/rodecaster-duo
