Your soil is beautiful ! I used the same machine in my rocky and root-filled yard where it constantly got stuck. Not enough torque to cut the roots or push out the small rocks. I switched to a manual auger which worked just as quickly.
Helpful video, I noticed you had it an an initial incline, which is what I read was preferred. How do you know when to angle it at 90 degrees at some point. Thanks!

How does it work around tree roots?
Hydraulic augers are imperative for hard ground because you need that reverse. Try to go at it with a forward-only auger and you are cooked.
