Thanks John and Albert, even when it’s junk as you call them it’s still great waiting to see what comes out is half the fun. Congratulations on your first silver of 2025.
Greetings from the Essex/Suffolk border in the UK! Only my second ever piece of silver. The other was also a Lizzy 1st about 8 months ago. On the same field! Fingers crossed there’s more!
It's so important you show us your junk finds because I personally get very disheartened finding junk so it's good to see someone as experienced as you doing the same sometimes x
I detect also and my ratio of junk to good is 10 bad to 1 good. Don’t get discouraged. Try to laugh about the junk. The only junk I find that I really hate are washers. They sound so good and then you see it and it’s round and you get a little excited thinking you have a coin, but no the dreaded washer. Haha! Relish your good finds and forget about the junk. Best of luck to you.
@kevinallen9009 thank you...the only coin I've ever found from 4 months detecting is a £1 spendable...but it went in a parking meter so I was grateful for that 😁 I just have to learn the sounds....I'm trying to dig everything as advised, but my ratio is about 50:1 crap to good 😔
I couldn’t agree with you more John that field does look very interesting, it was a good dig today and I’m looking forward to see what this field may reveal ❤
Just sent $25 US dollars of thanks for all the great video's. I've been a subscriber for sometime now. You have kept me company listening to your videos on many metal detecting road trips. Thanks John! Hope to be is Scotland in the next couple years and will plan on trying to setup a tour with you. Stay well and keep the great video's coming!
The lead token is tops, silver 3d is delightful. Is Albert wanted by interplod or something ? He should make a cameo appearance for his international fan base 😉
We know that the way wars were fought- there were no survivors- period. How do we know what we’re told is the truth…… Love seeing the beauty of Scotland 🏴 and Albert. ❤❤❤❤ You know that the Hoover Boys call the spendable coins “taco money”
I wish I could add a photo. I've just caught my 5 year old grandson absolutely transfixed on your TH-cam channel. I take him out detecting with me, and so far, he's got a pinpointer. He loves to pinpoint anything I detect!
I've been subscribed for 3 years and have never missed a video. I always wonder why you don't use white vinegar to clean your finds. It works great for things I've found while scuba diving.
What was the date you dug up the silver thrupence? I’m trying to figure out if my guess on your “silver date” was correct. A day with silver is never a bad day…just Albert had a better day on the coin front. I’ll be interested to hear what you find out about the lead token/coin. Cheers, and ATB!
Guitar, banjo, fiddle/violin tuning peg.👍 29:56
That was my first thought. It’s pretty big so it might be from a big bass.
Thanks John and Albert, even when it’s junk as you call them it’s still great waiting to see what comes out is half the fun. Congratulations on your first silver of 2025.
Love that lead token. Cracking find.
Many thanks!! Much appreciated. I love the lead tokens, they always feel very personal! And great social history too
Some of the lead tokens might be Saxon. They go way back.
"Stoney and partly frozen".... sounds like your weather report😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
I got my first silver of the year this afternoon. An Elizabeth 1st sixpence. Happy days!
Good on you mate! I’m in America and old silver is precious ❤❤

I like the new handle on your spade. Good frostbite prevention!! All the best in this new year!!
Congratulations on your first silver of the year and that token really cool 😎
That last bit you got, how about an adjuster for an old string instrument 🤔✌️😎
Boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
It looks like an epaulette crown for the rank of an army Major.
My first thought too
queen's crown? makes it Victorian or post '52?
Yay silver! Thanks John.
Awesome video John as always, stay warm

Get use to it, if there was treasure in every hole, everyone would be detecting!
@@Miss_Tootshey which detector do you have

Great finds and you didn’t have to wait long at all for silver this year! 🎉
The little crown badge is lovely.👍🏻❤️❤️
Great way to start 2025 for you guys. Thank you. Cheers from Texas.
Good to see Prince Albert out of his can! Congratulations on another great day on the fields of Perthshire! Cheers from New Orleans
Happy finding day from the Bahamas🇧🇸. Mind you don't freeze out there. So pleased to go round the fields as observer🙂👍
Congrats on 1st Shiney! Rk.
Another great video ! Get some Roman gold !
Last find may be a tuner for a violin or other string instrument.
Good start to the New Year Jocky. Well done on the silver 👍👍

George V always looks his best in silver … or gold. I’m so curious about those tokens!

32:20 Looks like a watch chain.
Nice silver to start the year
48k! Congrats, so do we get a theme song intro yet? Hard to believe I’ve been watching since I think 1.5k! Still love the channel.
Congrats on your firsts, see you next round!
Nice one lads!
Looks like you had a productive day John am out Sunday but may need a pick 😂😂😂
yay john you well
Hey Alan 🙋🏻♂️ doing good thanks! Just about over my flu and happy and fairly healthy! Have a great weekend, John
Maybe a tuning knob for a stringed instrument ?
Hey John👋🏻
Nice finds again 👏🏻🍀
Could that last Item be a screw to tighten the Strings of a Cello? 🍻
Albert may qualify as being the Scottish Yeti. Rarely spotted. He sure is a lucky devil.
Would pocket calipers to measure diameter and thickness of coins help you identify the corroded ones?
Your so lucky you can detect. Here in Shropshire ground is frozen solid
Future video…. take
A pocketful of spendables you’ve found into the pub to buy a pint! 😊
Thanks John, you and Albert both had a great dig. I am glad your heated jacket is keeping you warm.
"Yes. yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes." Ace.
When you dig and it's very stoney, is that the old pathway/road
No Scottish field without a can of McEwans
Albert's is Queen Victoria's Crown, a very distinctive shape, so very much pre-World War 1
Woo hoo...taco money 😂😂
👍👍
First place Jillian 🥇 enjoy the video and have a great weekend
Love your videos,
@ aww thanks ☺️
Gas fitting at the end...on/ off button...lol
victorian bendy thumb screw for locking sash window
John 5 Albert 10 😱😰 John definetely
Need to use His E Bike😜🔝❤️
Nice vid bud , can i ask how do you find that phone holder you use thats around your neck is it ok

Wait…. What about the ring on Albert’s thumb?
I would say it’s Victorian, could be a police collar rank for Superintendent
Not a buckle but the back to a clock wall or Grandfather
😊Silver
Most definitely old. Why would they stamp it?😊😊😊
What determines wether it’s spendable
how many silvers do you think you'd dig in a year?
Dont forget the Australian troops suffered heavily in Passchendaele
is the piece of chain from a survey chain? and why is a 1977 1 pence spendibal and the 1988 10p not?
Not sure how much effort it would take buy a used smelter and melt lead make fishing sinkers
Hey John, what program is Albert using?
Judging by the shape of the crown l would think it pre WW1.
It’s always over to quick, sorry John i know that what is shown is only a fraction of the whole.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Albert's scrapping pays for metal detecting gas. You have 2 pence toward your gas fund.
✌️🤍
Question John? Are you Cremating Albert after expiry and selling of little bits of him as lucky charms.....I'd like to leave a deposit...
You guys are typical men, you never have all your equipment together ready to go! LOL
Stay away from the road
Looks like a majors crown off a shoulder lapel .
It was 10 "new" pence , so it was 1968.
I see you are very sophisticated with your electrical jacket since my last time in those frozen fields. Don’t be electrocuted if is full charged 😅
You should get one 🥶
@@HighlandDiamond1i think must be a game changer for these days 🥶
