You were using a 35mm also. Was it the Tamron 35 1.8? I got a ton of focusing issues with the Tamron and the R6! Sometimes it got focus but the message to the R6 was that it was out of focus. :(
I was Nikon when shooting the Tamron 35 f1.8 so I sold it when going mirrorless. Sad to hear it’s not working so well. It’s a great lens
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto that's my mistake! You're right! You were team Nikon that time :D Looking to buy a Canon R6 but I was testing it with my EF lenses and I got that issue. The Canon 85mm 1.8 works just great and a little bit faster focusing than before! I'll try to check the firmware version on it!Thank you ! :)
Serious question: are tips on shooting in front of piles of gravel and pylons with orange mesh included too? I’d really like to know how I can get high quality images in locations like Bali, and maybe even the Mediterranean!

I’d say try to avoid it but if you can’t then get some solid lenses like f1.4’s
What the thing don’t you like about the RF 50mm? I want to buy the Rf version, I have a 1.4 EF 50mm but don’t want to always use the adapter.
It’s just heavy to use all day. It’s also pretty much technically perfect, which could be good or bad depending on what you enjoy.
do you scout out these location before hand or just wing it????? and do you use the same location multiple times????
These shoots are kind of me scouting for our Banff workshop.
Usually with normal locations I don’t scout. With mountain locations, it’s nice to be familiar since last light is weird times at different places in the year
I am so curious when you are shooting the 50mm at 1.2 and the couple is not right next to each other how out of focus is one than the other? Can’t tell in the photos as they flash by too quickly. I am usually too nervous to shoot at 1.2 when I have a couple walking etc.
As long as they're on the same plane of focus they're fine. I'm also not super close to them most of the time

Hey Taylor, Im kind of torn on the rf 28-70. I own it and its my main lens as primary videographer which it isnt my favorite for. But im keeping it as im getting more in to weddings and it seems like a highly sought after lens and that maybe the 24-70 isnt a good choice for a wedding. im not in a position to own two camera bodies so i was wondering how you feel about the utility of the 28-70 this far after your initial review of it. thank you for your time
A lot of people swear by the 28-70 as the best lens for weddings. I’m a prime shooter, which isn’t ideal for all day video. So I might not be the right person to ask. I find that when I do video (highlight only) I’m on my 70-200 a heck of a lot more than anything else though

For sure but I don’t know if you’ll see a ton of difference from the 28-70

I film a lot of other content outside of weddings and I know the rf 24-70 is lighter, silent AF and just a bit less light. I just keep hearing the 28-70 is the holy grail so i guess from your experience, you haven’t seen much difference between them? Sorry for all the comments. I’ve just been stuck on this for a while.
@@clintongoss9276 I personally prefer the 24-70 because it’s smaller. I wish everything in canon land was the size of Fuji haha
