Nice! Yeah, the same basic principles apply to 4 o’clock carry. There’s just more of a risk printing when bending forward, so I’d look for a holster designed for behind the hip carry that has a bit of a forward cant (that can you can still swap clips on) I know T1C makes a model called the ECHO that would work, but there are many other great companies out there, too 👍
How do you hide the bulge as a skinny guy? I want to carry tucked in appendix, but the bulge for me is large, awkward, and very noticable. I can't figure out make it blend in more.
You can play with wearing your pants higher or lower (lower works for me) and you can practice good posture. But mostly it’s a combo of building out your pecs a little bit and being pickier about the shirts you buy. That way the shirt drapes over the negative space.
@@Hawes41 Also, I reply to sometimes hundreds of comments a day and I didn’t notice this was specifically on my tucked shirt video. Tightening your belt more and selecting a thinner gun/holster helps a bunch 👍 The other advice applies as well.
New subscriber, love the content you’re putting out! Can you do an in depth review of this holster? Or a comparison of this one and the T1-M would be awesome!!!
Hey, thanks for the comment and the feedback 👍 Welcome to the channel! Yeah, I can do a review of the Xiphos for sure. I don’t have a T1-M, but I can get one for review. Just give me a quick 5 weeks and I can compare them 🤣 Just to give you a short answer, I much prefer the Xiphos for the full slide/barrel coverage and the support of two clips vs. one. The T1-M is very minimalist but it can shift around with the single clip. Just my quick thoughts! 😁
A review of the Xiphos would be great! I used to carry an appendix rig w/ a spare mag caddy, but I’ve recently put on a little dad weight… lol so I’m looking for something a little more minimal/streamlined. I’ve always liked the 2 clip design, but I’m wondering if the T1-M with the single clip might be a little more comfortable/ flexible with movements.
Gotcha, that makes sense 👍 I used to carry with a single clip and I never liked the tilting play in the holster. I want the grip to be in the same place every time. Also, if you get into a grappling situation, I prefer having two clips since one can break/fail/get pulled off the belt and there’s still a second one holding on. But I can see how maybe the ability to tilt the gun with the single clip would help with comfort while rocking the dad bod, lol. Check out the Active Self Protection Extra channel. He’s got some extra weight and he rocks the two clips. Might help to see how he does it. Same with the channel guy_edc 👍
Really learning a lot from you Brett, thanks much! Waiting for my HK P-2000 SK to arrive before holster shopping. Tier 1 is certainly first on my short list. As a lefty with wrecked shoulders, appendix carry is about the only way I can manage. Not sure about the added mag carrier though, I've read where they 'even' out the print better than just a stand alone holster, your thoughts?
I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the channel! 😎 HK P2000sk is a great gun and is extra safe for appendix carry! One of my favorite sub-compacts! Excellent choice 👍 Unfortunately giving you advice about sidecar-style vs standalone holster would be like giving you advice about what pair of shoes to buy. It’s a personal thing since everyone has a different body along with varying tolerances for discomfort. The sidecar style definitely works best for my trim frame since it evens out the print, as you said. It’s hard to say. The best case scenario would be trying both, but that would require having friends that are super into EDC and have that kind of gear for you to try. Other than that, you have to take a shot in the dark and get what you think would work best for you. And if it doesn’t, try something different. Although if you are looking for a holster for a P2000sk you might simply be limited by what is available.
@@NightwoodGunsAppreciate your reply Brett. I'm "finally" settled on a Springfield Hellcat Pro because of it's concealability. The DC clips will certainly be a part of the holster I buy.
Does the weight of your gun result in sagging? I've messed with tucking clips behind the belt (though i'm just using default 1.5 clips from T1C from 3 years ago), and my G19 ends up sagging. It doesn't affect concealment but comfort/stability go out the window when doing this, as well as getting a good purchase on my firearm when going to draw the gun. I'm just curious if you have ever noticed anything like this when concealing with a tucked in shirt and clips behind the belt. I've considered getting a lighter gun, but the G19 isn't exactly all that much heavier than say, a G48 or Shield plus, once fully loaded.
Yes, that’s something that can happen. A lighter gun and sturdier pants/shorts definitely help. I typically run a standard P365 tucked to keep it as light as possible. A G19 is definitely on the heavier side for tucked carry. But I’ve run full size guns with sturdier pants. The biggest trick is to tighten your belt more than usual to keep it in place. 👍
Glad you enjoyed the vid! If I could do it over again, I’d probably get another Axis Elite and put the short DCC clips on them for my dedicated “tucked” holster. I was concerned about weight since the clips ride on your pants instead of your belt. But tightening your belt over the clips helps support the rig. I carry with a tucked shirt so infrequently it’s not worth getting another holster, lol.
I’ve never actually carried with a tucked shirt, have never really needed to. If I were to though this would be the way. I think the benefit of having the discreet carry concept clips is being able to hide your clips as opposed to using factory clips over your belt, thus advertising to people that you are carrying (at least to those that would know better). Also noticed you switched to the RMR on your P365XL from the 507k. Any plans on getting the EPS carry when it comes out?
I didn’t have to think about tucked in carry until everyone in my life (including myself) started getting married, lol. And this was the best way I found for the reasons you stated 👍 And yeah, I’m leaning toward the standard EPS for my XL when I can get my hands on one. Seems like it has everything I look for nowadays in a dot. I finally landed an Aimpoint ACRO P2 for my Staccato, so I’ll be doing a review of that after I’ve tested it. 😎
@@NightwoodGuns nice on the Acro P2! Any reason you switched to the RMR? Is it the type 2 or the RMRcc? If it’s the type 2 I’m sure the larger window is reason enough. Also what’s your take on dot size preference?
@@Taegashi Yeah, I was stoked to snag a P2! For the P365 XL: I switched to a type 2 RMR. As you guessed, window size was a factor as well as less distortion and a crisper dot. My dot size preference is in line with Aaron Cowen (Sage Dynamics) I like as small of a dot as possible. I run 1 MOA on all of my Trijicons. But the P2's 3.5 MOA dot is very crisp (the crispiest, in my opinion), so it seems smaller than it is. Can't wait to take it for a spin.
I used a Maple Leaf Firearms adapter plate on the XL. I’m super impressed with it. 👍 The optic game is a double-edged sword right now. There are so many great options, but they are also improving very quickly. So you invest in a dot and it’s obsolete in 2-3 years. A sleek closed emitter with a durable SRO window would be perfection, so I’m hoping for something like that in a few years.
great advise, any chance those books are coming to audible to us gunsmith's can listen while we tinker?
Going to try to make it happen. It’s harder than you’d think, but there’s been quite a bit of demand.
First time viewer. I'll definitely being checking out the books. Have a great day.

1:35 What model G shock is that? The G Shocks are my favourite watches. I noticed it right away.
