    Thanks for the video... But I could offer a suggestion that may work for some... Most of the time I don't use soap and water at all to clean the roof of my RV... I sweep it off with a broom and fox tail... The reason for this is to avoid having rivulets of mud streaming down the sides of it and an entire coach to clean or shammy off... I store my unit in a shelter and most of the time it just gets dusty on top... If I don't clean the roof before I take it out then there will be dirt flowing down the sides from dew or rain... Good luck!

      We was ours 2 times a year (we are full timers) Once in the spring and once in the fall. While we are up there we check and make sure that the roof is resealed with Dicor as needed. Dont want any problems with the roof.

    Easy, simple, & informative. I like the idea of using a pressurized spray bottle for the soap instead of a bucket. I assume you use the trash can to rinse your scrub brush? Great video.

    Thanks for the video, i would like to add be sure you dont just get right up there and walk on your roof. Class A like the one on this video typcially have stronger roofs and allow people to walk on them. If you have a travel trailer or 5th wheel you need to be very very careful as the roof structure is not as beefed up on those units. I was told by the dealer for my 5th wheel that anyone over 300 lbs should only be on roof on hands and knees as to spread the weight out evenly, otherwise you could cause a roof failure. So i use knee pads and gloves when i wash mine.

    • @3tailsRV
      @3tailsRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James, first off thanks for watching and leaving a great comment. the white is a protective coating (UV) that covers the rubber membrane. Unforantly if you are starting to see lots of black, you have 2 options reseal your roof or replace it altogether. Never use a pressure washer as it will also remove the covering over the membrane. Hope that helps ~Happy trails... Aron

      TSP, or trisodium phosphate, is an additive that painters use to clean most painted surfaces in your home before painting. It is mixed with warm water and considered safe; it is often used in commercial laundry soaps as well as an ingredient in some foods. You may ask why TSP is used.
