The system is on ship which is designed to drill top hole. The ship when its working properly, will be at sea in open water. It will pitch and roll, so the equipment is designed to overcome the difficulties associated with that. Besides what you see is the equipment being tested before it goes operational. So as it is being tested, it will be slow. Any of you who have worked on a small Drillship in open ocean, will understand why technology designed for land rigs is not going to work at sea. Oh, and it doesn't matter how good the Roughnecks are, they will not be able to work fast if the ship is moving. Having worked as a Driller on a small drillship, I can safely say it's nothing like working on a little land rig.
We have this excact same system, only larger and more equippement, but we; pick up the pipe, load it in, elevate it, torque it and set slips in 58 seconds.
All complain about how slow it is lol. We use this on my offshore oil rig, Trippingspeed of up to 1200m per hour. We don't use the catwalk then but use Hydraracker with stands of 3 pipes from / to the setback. The catwalk is only for laying down / picking up singles for spaceout or special tools.
I don't know why you said: "We are Chinese company." ****************************************************************************** ****************************************************************************** Your country does not know the word "quality." Fuck me, sure it looks safe but look at the same operation with 2 roughnecks a pair of manual elevators where they store the drill string at 30 degrees and the same operation takes about 1/10th of the time
Legend has it they're still drilling this well
Big rig that’s a 5,000 connection :) like watching paint dry ! So much for technology advancement !

Slowest connection I have ever seen. You are FIRED

So the possibility of a blowout is not a issue anymore where I come from a little speed really helps out on the cost to develop a new well
Catwalk Machine push the drill pipe, BX Elevator hold and lock it, and lifted up by Top Drive. Ready to go to the well center
Posted and then read the comments. Thanks make more sense when the surroundings and conditions are taken into perspective.
This is good for the newbies but for the old chain singing lads this is also good.

Hey bro, i want to tqlk to u abt this rig, i have some doubts, since i am working on same type of rig. How to connect u?
We don't believe you. Anyone who calls a Drilling Rig. An Oil Rig. Is Nothing but a LIAR!
Damn r they ever going to make a conection
thank you very much for your video , we are chinese company, we have exported 140 drill pipe elevators to our customer

I want the specification on the catwalk machine used . I want model number swl and working angle please anybody help..
It's cws something like that model number
Thread protector is still on....
Top driver's pipe handler elevators should be turned 180 to latch pipe properly, it'd be safer, easier and more efficient.

+legaliseme Agreed, but the point here, I think, is there is no personnel at the V-door. Which is safer.
This is an equipment test and not an actual connection. Being run slow on purpose to make sure everything's in working order.
I dont even know how that is feasible. Its so slow
thank you very much for your elaborate presentation. I am an engineer designs Gear box for Industrial application
All these billion dollar technologies just to make it easy could have already made a connection
Me, I'd have shown some initiative. Have that worm run scoop up a case of Ether and saturate them air intakes down man it's Beer 30. Time ta go
Read my post embarrassed offended and judgey all at once... Fuck off ya fat fuck
Lol when the pipe is at that angle you need to latch it from the top
How you gonna do this with this type of rotator? Latch the BX from the top is not allowed for safety reasons. 👍🏼
Very very slow to.pick up one joint.
So slow the pipe will be stuck in drilling operation
Well, the video was actually taken during testing of the items so it took quite some time 😁
This is like watching paint dry. Awkward and so slow. God Bless the Poor Guy who bid this well, if he is lucky they will have it done by retirement.
This is litterly how it works on any offshore rig here in Norway.
Might help if they actually knew how to use that fancy machine.
Yea clutch it and come up flip watch paint dry geze
SUPER SLOWWWWW!!!!!
ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ ZZZ
Waste of good steel
That looks like a waist of time.
Not Super cool. But slow and not necessary.
Very slow....
very slow
wtf that's slow
To much time is waisted
Slow as fuq
