      Polk County did a sting operation in 2021 that found 17 people who were online underage predators, 3 of which worked for Disney. • @CaptLoquaLacon
      @CaptLoquaLacon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At least with ex-cons you can make arguments that they've been through the system which should mean they have reformed. Ryan is in a bit of grey area where the rumours have come out, but the victims have only made public allegations rather than proper legal charges. In theory, at any time, the allegation can be followed up on, but the cases are essentially a further trauma for survivors so they may be satisfied with him not working any more because a trial is too much to go through. It would be good if he was charged, but I don't feel right asking the survivors to push for that.
      It's a good question though, there needs to be more discussion about what happens with ex-cons. I remember thinking that I'd love to hear MVP talk about that after hearing him talking about his history on the old Edge & Christian podcast

    I think Jim is kind of missing Brian's point, but I get it. even if somebody is convicted of a crime, once they're convicted they serve their time and then what? they never have a job again. there was a guy who had a bit part on the 2019 the predator film, and he got the role because he was trying to get his life back on track after serving his time. he had been involved in some kind of sexting scandal with a cousin in another state he pled guilty he was in jail for 10 years he had been out for a while and he was trying to get back into acting so he got this big part. Olivia Munn found out his background and went directly to the studio executives and went public then with him being a sex pest convicted and being on the set, and got him fired. I bring that up a lot for the same reason that Brian does. at what point right or wrong you know if somebody commits a crime but at what point Have You served your time when do you get to have a life again. if we're not going to give these people the death penalty, they have to be able to have jobs

In many ways, this was about as safe a job as possible since it is pretty public. I have no issue with no one in wrestling wanting to hire him, I don't have any issue with Disney deciding to let him go(although Disney has its own issues) but he does still have the right to earn a living since he wasn't convicted of anything.
