    Thank you for being so vulnerable and open about your story. You've obviously done a lot of work to heal from your experience. And you are absolutely right- it was NOT your fault. Keep shining your light in the world. ❤

    So brave. The strength that must have taken. In my life I have found that when I allowed myself to be fully vulnerable it always results in personal growth. Take care of you.

      Hi, sometimes it can be difficult to understand "tone" when things are written and not spoken. Yes, it's true everyone has problems! Some seem okay to talk about. Some problems can make it seem like no one cares. Well I care! Not all families are great. Mine definitely wasn't.

      @TVSoaps666 Feelings are normal. I had a lot of bad feelings yesterday then I remembered to wait 24 hours. And this morning things are a lot better. Feelings come and then they go.

    Sadia, I liked your story and the way you approached the discussion. I also liked your drawings. I'm glad that you found your way, that you chose healing, that you found a way to make them and others to be aware of the impact of abuse from a dysfunctional family on children.
    I wish you strength and courage and a life always good and worthy of your beautiful soul! Keep shining your light with your voice and your drawings!

    Thank you for sharing this traumatic event in your life. No child should be subjected to this. When you say you are talking to the universe, what do you mean by that? Can the universe listen to us and answer?

    I needed this. I have been feeling so alone. Like no one gets me. At 55, I struggle still. I am the same going no contact 16 years with my father. But tried recontacting my mother 3 times and it never worked out and recently told her I just cannot. I get too many intrussive thoughts being around them. No one apologizes and you are expected to assume your familial role. Holidays and birthdays are lonely AF and so I choose to make sure I am working those days.

    What if it’s not your choice at first and he persuades you into wanting to do it then it turns into manipulation and things a good loving father would do just cause he cares doesn’t happen unless you do something for him?? I haven’t said anything because I feel like if I’m agreeing to it it’s not legitimate but it’s ruining my life I don’t know who I am everything is a lie

    • @girlgeniusnyc272
      @girlgeniusnyc272 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      No matter how old you are or when it started IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. Children depend on their parents for food and shelter! Damaged/Broken people take advantage of this. I don't know enough details about your situation to give any "advice". This is what worked for me. The abuse (from my dad) stopped when I was around 8 years old. When I turned 18 I went far away for college. After college I cut all contact with my family.

    • @Dman9fp
      @Dman9fp 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That sounds like gaslighting and manipulation to the max to me. If somebody has to convince you why you actually want something, that's shady. But inner emotions are complex, wish you the best in at least eventual remission/ recovery

    No You mean you didn't make it up for shits and giggles
    Lol😮
    People still amaze Me!
    Bless you for speaking your truth.
    I hope very soon I can as well
    Society silences many ;
    Survivors/ thrivers deserve so much more.
    Stop gaslighting victims
    Stop making them the crazies.
    Stop victimizing the victims
    And bless those who can not comprehend this type of abuse, but
    Please don't pretend to know
    And don't judge
    It isn't anyone's place to do so.
    Assumptions yeah makes both parties....

      Hi I am the lady who gave the talk. How do you suggest that I "get over it"? The abuse was NOT MY FAULT. That's the point. I spoke up to help other people who have survived similar situations. If you don't like my talk, that's okay. Plenty of other people have found it helpful.

      @@girlgeniusnyc272 Please dont let these trolls get to you. My girlfriend suffered the same. We are still young. She felt EXACTLY the same as you explained. Groomed at a young age, knowing its wrong but not knowing to fight back. Your talk helped me understand her a lot more! She is still recovering, not yet completely detached, but the abuse stopped a few years ago. I'm aware it takes time but I wanna help her through the journey. She did the same thing, pretend it never happened because she couldn't process it. Until I came along and i started healing her and was patient with her . She opened up after 2 years of our relationship. We are both girls and that is the only reason she can trust me. Please dont let them get to you. You're incredibly brave. Incredibly! My girlfriend is afraid to be an orphan. Your story tells me that she will find happiness too, that with time she will recover.
