Great video. I haven't been riding that long. I watch a lot of helpful videos and I go to a couple different parking lots and practice slow maneuvering, stopping, U-turns, etc. It really builds confidence. Then I go for a ride and reward myself. I hate traffic so I hit the country roads. I still drive in traffic, but not at the busiest times. I don't ride with anyone else right now. I just go out and ride my ride. Thanks again for the video.

I ride with 2 people, my wife and a friend of mine but 95% of my time I ride alone, it sometimes annoying to me to have to slow down when the person in front of me does or having to keep checking my mirrors to make sure the other person behind me is ok, it kind of ruins my ride cause I'm worried about my fellow riders compared to when I'm alone and only have to worry bout me

Great video, I'm a new rider. I'll be honest this will be my first bike I looked at the Street Bob 114. I've rode it before and truly fill comfortable on it. I agree with you on the right riding gear. I've been doing my homework for the last two years.

Great video with great advice for beginners. I remember how nervous corners made me when i first started compared to how i ride now, deffenitly need to take your time and not push outside your comfort zone starting out, also highly agree with starting small and working up, not just for power but weight and low speed handling
started on a vulcan s 650, then sportster 1200, now im on a 850lb 1900cc bagger, glad i worked my way up because i couldnt have handled my Chieftain when i was new.

I can remember the same when I started again in 2017 not realizing motorcycle tires are meant to be on the edge when leaned so I’m trying to keep the bike as straight as possible lol.

I’ve been riding since ‘68. But took a break for family in the 90s.
When I decided to ride again in 2000, I picked up an ‘82 Suzuki GS750EZ. It was a great ride and decision. Three years later I had my first touring bike and still ride a Harley Ultra CVO. My wife and I have toured the entire western half of the country.
Practice is crucial with any learned skill. Even the best practice regularly.
Also, if you’re going to ride with a group, take the time to look at group riding videos. There are protocols and to various degrees, you can do best by understanding them. More or less, it really depends on the group how strict the rules are.
At this time, I mostly ride alone. Mostly, because I chose to do so. But also, it gives me a bit more freedom do my own thing.
In the past I’ve ridden with many groups, cops, 1%ers and Patriot Guard. The styles and way each ride was, was totally different.
Best I can say, be aware of your surroundings and stay in control of your ride. Have a bitchen time!
Maybe I’ll see y’all in the Texas Hill Country! 👍🏼

3 people I know just got their first bike this summer. all have 900-1500cc cruiser bikes. I wanna see them learn safely but without being a trainer or whatever. it's tricky, but I think I'll recommend alot of research, msf class, and practice. good times ahead

Sage advice on wearing gear. If I’m going for a quick ride, helmet, gloves, boots. If I’m going for a IBA ride, I’m wearing an Aerostitch suit. Always have to be aware of the odds and what you might encounter.
It’s a sport. Stay fit… and it includes mentally fit. Motorcycling is a skill that needs to be developed.

Great advice 👍. I also think you shouldn't let others influence the bike you buy if you like a Suzuki or Honda or Harley then buy what you like and feel comfortable with. I've heard so many times people say a Harley Sporster is a girl's bike. Or just talking smack about another brand . Be safe everyone 🙏

Hey man really appreciate the videos. I am taking the msf course in a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to it. I will be purchasing a bike shortly upon the completion. These videos have helped a lot. I too live pretty close to the indian dealership you referenced on your videos.
I have been there a few times and they are just great in there. Would be great to see you there and talk riding and buying that first bike. Keep making these videos they are great. Thanks

THANK YOU for advocating wearing the right gear!!! I'd rather look ridiculous wearing a leather jacket in 90° weather than needing skin grafts. I paid a lot of money for my tattoos and I'd like to keep them. I cringe seeing guys in shorts and flip-flops.

Yes, ride your own ride... and if there's a particular day where you "feel" not quite right about, listen to yourself and settle in with a cup of Java and a good book.

I’ve been watching your channel since the grey street glide special you had. I sold my Yamaha Vstar 1300 earlier this year and I want to upgrade to a street glide or road glide. I’ve only been riding for year. I’m also 5ft8 and wanted to get your opinion on whether or not it would be a good time to move up

im in 8.5 minutes and so far as a rider of 50 years i disagee with most of what youve said. 1: if your a new rider get something that you can make fit you well and that you'll be happy with and proud to ride. i think something like a lowrider or one of many clones like a shadow ot a 900 custom vulcan dont start out on a ninja style bike that will kill you in you second year when you think your a better rider than you are. 2: gear is great but in states that aren't communist i dont wear it because... 3: youve said you'll " pick up skills along the way" bad advice! if youve never riden before and its been years since you've even been on a bicycle then don't go on the street untill youve had at the very least 20 hours in a parking lot learning how to respond when someone is trying to kill you and they are. being a new rider is differt than when i was a new rider . there are at least twice the number of cars on the road and 10 as many morons that think driving their car is a secondary thing to watching video, texting, hell ive seen a guy reading a book going down the hwy. take an advanced slow speed course and an advanced high speed course. you dont even have to pay for it there are a lot of great instructors on here to name a couple ride like a pro and be the boss of your bike is a good place to start.
like i said ive ridden for 50 years but i had a bunch of heart attacks and it put me out for a few years. i didnt go back on the stree right away. i went where traffic was not an issue and spent 100 hours training myself again. today i was out in the rain in said parking lot trying to get my roadking 14× 26 figure 8. can it be done... not by me and i train all the time best i can do is about 17 × 28. but when a car pulls out in front of me 5 times a day. its not even a glitch anymore. me and my pitbull go about our happy way.
ps dont ride with a dog untill you can win a police rodeo.

Bohn body armor makes a underpants kinda thing that has armor in your knees, hips, and for your tailbone. You can wear any sort of pants over it

I really need to get some and test them out for myself before ai can recommend anything. I’m too cheap to spend 200 plus on jeans but if there’s real interest in it I’ll do it. And don’t get me wrong aim not opposed but if ai don’t know enough about it I won’t recommend anything to you. Do watch my gun channel and what do you appendix carry?

if you are unable too drive a vehicle with confidence and able to do so with out your cellphone in your face every foot traveled. DO NOT BUY A BIKE!!. If you have had more or have been in more than one vehicle accident! DONT BUY A BIKE! If you are unable to maintain the posted speed limit or pay no attention to road signs, the road or your surroundings, and are unable to use your mirrors, DONT BUY OR RIDE A F-ING BIKE!!!
