I've reintroduced pec fly machine at the end of my chest routine and it's a great finisher. Thanks guys.

So you can't substitute this for presses, right? Not enough overload?

@planetdog1641 I believe it's for a good contraction. With good form as explained in the video. Bench for overload.

HOWCOME Lee said he would start with presses first? I heard Pec Deck is the only exercise needed for big pecs. Even a subscriber in another of your videos showed a picture of what only pec deck training can do for ya. very impressive.

I've only trained 4 or 5 times in the last 4 months, but seeing myself half naked on my security camera footage was all the motivation I needed.😂
I built a chest fly with pillow block bearings that is actually a leg press first, the fly is secondary, but I might come up with more machines with the hardware.

Can you showcase that big ATX Smith machine rack with cables? SCR-760 I believe the model, a really versatile equipment and there is nothing better than seeing Lee demoing ATX machines :D

I just use it after my workout by squeezing the whole stack and holding for 30 seconds at three different seat levels.

If u want optimal chest growth u need to prioritize a pressing exercise that you can overload like a bench press or chest press. Even dips or push-ups are better than this useless machine. Only reason to ever use it is for rear-deltoid flys.

Lee does say this isn't used to build mass. It's more of a finishing exercise.

Flyes put the chest into a stretched position. A loaded stretch is another important aspect of hypertrophy training. Dips and fulcrum pushups are excellent, but many people have injuries or lack the proper range of motion to do those movements. Thus, the pec flye is a great choice for those that can't do other movements. It's also a better choice than the DB flye due to the continuous tension, and tension at the top of the movement.
      Most movements have their place.

      OK Bro scienctist.
(When you're still regurgitating non-scientific nonsense you read in a bro magazine 10 years ago, you need to reassess yourself 😅)
P S Because overloading a muscle only works if it is a compound....for reasons...
As soon as you isolate a muscle, Exercise Science and the principles of overload, intensity and specificity go out the window...for reasons...😂

I believe the “pec decs” definitely have their place.

  • @Farquad76.547

This isn’t a pec deck this is a pec fly machine. Pec dec has different handles/elbow pads with a motion closer to the body and is superior to a pec fly machine of this sort. Shame actual pec decs are not as common anymore as they do actually have superior muscle activation I think Derek Lunsford also attested to this notion too.
