Shashi Tharoor , by all means, one of the most brilliant minded, intellectual and proud son of this country, having in-depth knowledge of history particularly on current issues is eligible to become the next prime minister of this great country. Our youth of this country should rally behind in one heart and mind to make this a reality. Obviously he has wide circle of friends across the political spectrum. Sure enough this country will scale greater heights under his able leadership.Congress party should make him a consensus Candidate forgetting all differences of cast , Creed , and region for the common good of all or greater glory of this country.

He takes views that please his Party leadership.

    Dear Shashi,
Please stop gerrymandering about an Act which does nothing but confer on some unfortunate sections of minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan the citizenship of this great country. These minorities namely Hindus, Sikhs,Jains,Christians ,Parsees are being persecuted in the said countries. The eloquence of Shashi hides an intent to mislead the audience. Does the Act say that Indian citizenship shall now be determined on the basis of these religions. The argument that exclusion of Muslims renders the basis of this Act unconstitutional is also flawed. This Act has been passed based on the experience that most of those seeking citizenship are of said minorities in the said countries. People like Shashi must exercise restraint by not bringing in religion in criticizing a piece of legislation passed with the best of intent. I advise the people hearing him to read the Act. Every time they say something about the Government they bring in the argument that bulk of Indians are poor and illiterate and therefore can not produce the required documents. My question is : Will documents be asked only of Muslims and not Hindus? In the first place there's no question of documents for NRC because NRC is not yet made mandatory throughout India.
I don't understand Congress Party and the cronies who go about espousing the same line of argument. My friend Shashi would be well advised to be reminded that India is secular because the bulk of its population is Hindus.

In Assam, the previous Congress govt which ruled for 15 years issued documents to the people of a particular community by which illegal immigrants can now prove themselves Indian. That can be understood from looking at the change of demographic situations in the lower part of the state. Now, if govt provided documents are to be considered you aren't going to find out a single illegal immigrant in Assam. Is that okay Mr. Tharoor?

Mr Tharoor very wisely excluded some important concerns just in order to stay loyal to his party. My question to Mr Tharoor is ''Okay! Non muslims from these 3 countries will get citizenship easily as perks of this act BUT what about Non Muslim candidates of this Country including Hindus who are residing here but don't have papers." And on what behalf he can call it irrational and irrelevant. It's a simple act for persecuted minorities. Giving it a communal angle is irrational. But yes it's easier to fool people by an educated politician by over rating artificially created facts to satisfy personal interests. WAKE UP INDIA.

Each individual of India who see the steps taken by BJP can push our people n country in vain. We are humans first and religious always should comes later. BJP choose religion above humanity this made BJP supporters trash people or kill them for religion.

Great oratory. India had been under muslim rule for centuries. It was from muslims the british took over india. Several places, landmark buildings were built by the muslim rulers. Even now , millions of hindus are working or living in 67 muslim countries. And these hindus are living in a better off conditions than those who are living in india. Moreover, India is doing business worth billions of dollars with these countries. Suppose If the UN goes on the lines of religious identity, should india have any hindu friends to talk to other than Nepal.

I agree that Mr. Tharoor is a brilliant orator, but I disagree with his objections on the argument that citizenship act is nefarious to be against Muslims. The 3 countries, listed along with all other Muslim majority nations systematically treat non muslims as pariahs, so fast tracking the minorities to receive Indian citizenship is correct if they apply

Maybe commenting too quick. Further into video if required i shall edit.
Just started and i see he used the opportunity to bring in CAA and spoke about how for the first time religions is mentioned or discriminated. Don't get me wrong , i like him and he definitely has the energy and knowledge to run for PM but i have to say that Gandhi ji and Nehru have spoken way back in the past of introducing such a bill for the religiously prosecuted minorities as we have the responsibility to care of them. If they did not mention a ammendment bill exactly they defenetly did talk about taking care of the persecuted minorities of these countries. I don't find excluding Muslims as a discrimination since the Ahmedis don't even come to India even as they are a tortured/discriminated minority in Pakistan. If you wish to you can verify anything i said and if I'm wrong I'm willing to correct what i said otherwise please don't call me a sanghi or whatever for speaking kind of in support of CAA.
Towards the end he made a comment which essentially mean even if the Supreme Court of India doesn't rule against CAA itwill still be unconstitutional. The appeal itself is saying its against the constitutional principles and it if its not sustained in the court how is it still unconstitutional? I really don't think the court will rule in support of something unconstitutional.
I'm Waiting for the verdict! That's all i can say as a person who has closely watched all the protests and supports and heard all the arguments. When they speak , both the pro and against CAA folks selectively omit many facts and essentials and include many twisted forms of truth in their favour and some just don't evem know anything but simply follow the favourite team.
For national registry actually witnesses(neighbours) are accepted right? But its soon to say this is accepted or not as it has not taken a proper form yet , has it?

      @santhoshsasidharan7463 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes my friend, I agree with your thoughts and views, it make sense... for opposition they just got a trump card, but if we go in deep this looks intentional, purposely created by our ruling government, in a way to hide the core issues our country is facing currently. This is what my feelings are..
Citizenship register, must be a mandatory requirement for any country, hope we all agree to that. .. but the way it is getting implemented or announced is where the issue started, I am not sure if you got a chance to watch the video of our home minister's provocative speech , his way of delivering the speech and his body language was the clear evidence of what his intention is.. and, this is where the problems started. Eventually our prime Minister's effort to cover up the issue and the provocative statement of dress codes which is not at all good for a true leader of our nation. Hope you also observed that. The way we handled the situation was pathetic...
And if we look at the way how things are being done for the past couple of years, one can clearly say that these were the test doses, triple talaq, article 370 and babry masjid, and when it reached to CAA and NRC they just got overwhelmed by the success of their earlier acts.
When we look at the implementation of Assam model NRC across the country, who do we think will be be the most affected, Muslims? Really not...
there will be another 20 crores in different categories of people including homeless, tribes and others will be the victims. what identification methods are we applying to get them registered? Else so called detention camps will be the solution? What will be the cost of construction and maintaining these concentration camps? How long are we going to keep them inside? What will be the end result? Do we have an idea? Can the vote bank politics have any answers? Don't we need to question them? This is not the time to sit back and relax! It's time to react...
Who do we think is the culprit for this current situation? I should say Congress party and it's corrupted 60 odd years made people to think for an alternative. To overcome the current crisis I should say neither Congress nor communist will ever be the alternative. I would say a Delhi model must be a good alternative. A new alliance must emerge. I prefer Sasi Tharoor must quit Congress and many like minded people should get together for a better tomorrow. This is the time for that... wish it could happen.
I personally was supporting BJP when it came to power and I had a kind of soft mind to Mr Modi personally, but sorry to say, he could not meet the expectations of our common people. Congress on the other side is fully corrupted and looted India badly, they never have the rights to lead India agin!
Currently we all got diverted and devided, we lost our focus, core issues were hidden, recently I overheard a talk between two school going kids, one said "your mother cannot be a best friend of mine since you are from a different religion! This really shocked me, still not recovered!!! Not sure where we are heading to, and whom to blame?Whatever we do now must be for a better tomorrow and the betterment for our next generation, but are we on the right direction???

@@santhoshsasidharan7463 i agree with you on everything you said. If congress was just not a family profit motive business kinda politics i would never have thought BJP must be in power. I think it is the case for almost all those who voted for bjp. Its more dislike towards congress than love for BJP . I do see most their speeches but I'm not sure i get it all as i find it hard understanding Hindi. But i say this, I don't want BJP to be overwhelmingly powerful like nothing can touch them. I want BJP in power with a party like congress in opposition. Otherwise they will do just anything. Same goes for anyone when they feel they are invincible.
Its really shocking to hear that about those kids. I really cannot relate to any of these Muslim-Hindu hatred because my best friends are Muslims and I'm a Hindu. I have my Muslim friends mother giving feeding both me and my friend together from the same plate and so does my mother as well. But i see how hatred and tensions are rising. Its because an average Hindu would be bothered if a party like bjp points out some unfairness to him and sees how some parties support it. What i mean to say is that people lost their ability to think beyond politics.
I just hope things all get better and people has only one intention in life which is welfare of the people and country.

If the point was to protect persecuted minorities why was Sri Lanka not included? The Tamils(whether hindu, muslim or Christian) are persecuted and they do come to India.
They weren't included because this government wanted to define citizenship on the basis of religion.
If they had included Tamils then it would not have been on Religion. One of the amendments proposed by the Congress was this and the BJP voted it down.
On the Supreme Court, they just gave bail to 14 people convicted of burning alive 23 people(including 22 women) in the gujarat riots.
      www.thehindu.com/news/national/sc-grants-bail-to-17-convicts-in-2002-sardarpura-post-godhra-riots-case/article30673268.ece
The Supreme Court also hasn't listened to any of the Kashmir Habeus Corpus Cases.
So let's not pretend the supreme Court can't be pressured by the government.

      On the NRC.
Yes in Assam the neighbours were allowed to be witness.
But in Assam they also allowed anyone to make a complaint against you that you were not a citizen. Then you would have to go to a foreigner tribunal and prove that you are a citizen.
If you do an all India NRC, you'll make the bureaucracy all powerful.
In the states where bureaucrats are corrupt they will take lots of bribes. In the states where they are communal they will purposely leave out lots of Muslims.

@@yusuf.k.m I'm not sure why the Tamils were not included. I may need to know more about it before i can say anything about it. Are they persecuted religiously? Idk. And the bill is exactly for bordering neighbours (Afghanistan shares the border) and I'm not sure the proper reason why it was made that way. If the Tamils are really religiously persecuted and yet it was avoided by simply because of a hidden religious agenda i am against it. But i am sure I'm not gonna go into streets and protest violently over accusations, agenda and hate and be a puppet to those that will use me.
Supreme Court things- I'm never going to thing any system anywhere in the world is 100% perfect. Especially when it revolves around politics. I also know for a fact that sometimes Supreme Court has definitely made some unfair judgements on things that they should not be making a judgement on like religion and the customs which they never understand clearly. I am also not sure or rather aware of the Kashmir issue as it is too complex. But brother i have to say that being a Indian citizen i cannot be without keeping faith in our courts and respect the judgements or there will be chaos. I am also sure that no government can put sure on the supreme court over its judgment on something ''unconstitutional'. I will certainly respect the verdict on CAA.

India the largest democracy in the world is a humanity driven country where everyone - Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Jain, Parsy and many different ethnic and caste groups live side by side. What a wonderful mosaic of rich talents and diversity that make up India. India finds strength in unity and diversity. We should be proud of this strength to move India forward to become a humane super power. Nothing is bigger and nobler than humanity. We should have a broad based agenda to deliver for all the people of India that does not get lost in ideology, pedagogy and demagoguery. We can be better and stronger together. God bless the people of India.

Intelligent people are sometimes stupid and irrelevant. Spewing such rubbish is unfortunate from an Indian parliamentarian where CAA was debated, I hope you were not asleep then.

Nehru spoke such impotent language after becoming pm and did not issue citizenship number when all countries gave citizenship number to track people in the modern world. Congress loves all illegal things and poorness of indians so that they vote this Italian family. This family is not bothered whether the country grows but it is interested in keeping the PM post in its hands and enjoy and damage the very meaning of democracy...

Pranaam to Mathrubhoomi and it's factual reporting style. As a young girl, I used to ridicule my mother saying, "LEARN TO READ MATHRUBHOOMI, and your brains will grow."
Yes, Indianism has nothing to do with color or texture or the money bags we store. It's an ATTITUDE. It is about the serene state of mind where we assert without hatred or violence and accept the most irrational arguments with humor. It is the state of being humble even to the least among us, respecting creation, protecting and preserving whatever is around us even when we defend and resist destructive forces. It is much above religion and existed long before Molochian religions took over the planet. Thank you for sharing the speech.

Shahi tharoor knows how cunningly we can confuse people. He is from UN so he should give one of the best policies to solve this issue once and for all... In 1950 Nehru should have given all people in India the citizenship number he was confussing people and khangress continued it. Even till today we do not have modern countries methods. Even when Aadhar number was given to all this same congress has blocked it in Supreme court and keeping the country confused. Every possible major issue the congress has dragged it 70 yrs
