Same situation, one of my credit cards in Indonesia has cashback 10% but capped at equivalent of $6.67 per month, luckily it has free annual fee for life🙃
Same for us in Australia. I think it’s because Americans aren’t responsible (Australia only really gives frequent flyer points [and we have long distance travel for most domestic and international flights so it is rough] and cash back is only for sign on bonuses)
@@RealClintCapelaits not because of americans not being responsible. Actually the entire world is in debt including Australians. Its the fact that Americans spending rate is way higher by comparison to other countries. Its why we get the points and benefits that we do without our spending rate we would get the same thing as Australia. banks can't make money to pass on benifits with a society who has a traditionally low spending rate.
@@mikeyiorio1880which makes it useless In other words as you’re losing money considering the risk free interest rate amount on 100k Based off even 30k in spending would be weeeeelll above that. BOA is scamming ya.
Nice combo for straight cash back. I wish more issuers had transfer partners though. There are some great cash back cards, like from US Bank, but without travel partners I tend to pass them over.
Hey Dave - Appreciate your videos on the most effective cash back cards you have! As your cashback on the everything and dining cards' rewards rate is tied to holding a large account balance with BoA/Merrill to get preferred rewards and the Amex card has a very high ($700) annual fee I think most of these would be very difficult for the average person to actually obtain. Would you happen to have any good card strategies not tied to as high of capital requirements?
Yes, although my go-to recommendation card has been discontinued (WF Propel Amex) and they replaced it with a 2% on everything card and there are already several options to choose from for 2%. My best advice is to think about the categories you spend in most, and find the mix of cards that reward most in those categories and try to always use no annual fee cards because the fee is nearly impossible to “earn back” purely from the increase in points/cash back rate.
I set BOA cash reward on online purchase and get 5.25% on rental payment. The fee for paying rent with a credit card is 2.95% so still about 2.5% net profit.
@@Stutterstun True. Having player #2 and 3 would help. There are different versions of BOA cash rewards. I just did further research. You can have multiple BOA cash rewards cards. You just have to wait 24 months before opening another one.
Can you explain how you calculated that percentage for the bank of america premium rewards card? Because on their website it says 2 points per dollar on travel and dining and 1.5 points per dollar on all other purchases. The points are worth up to 1 cent per point.
You have to be preferred member for Bank of America. Then, your reward will have 75% boost which makes 3% reward to 5.25% reward. To be a preferred member, you need to have minimum of $100K in brokerage account or savings account.
My solid rotation for cash back will be navy federal cash back rewards card , Apple Card and citi custom cash these three combination gas , food , bills and for my fourth card American Express gold card for food and travel this 4 card set up is perfect well rounded
but why is it that on my (well my dad’s bc i’m not 18 yet) card it says all the card information and on these cards there’s no numbers or any card details? What if someone steals all of that info that the card has in itself (CVV, Card Number, Expiry date) like what if they takes a picture of my card from both sides?

How do you get 5.25% in the Bank of America card? I only get 3% options. Do you need to have a certain amount of money or something?
You have to have an average balence in your checking account of 100k+ over 3 months to get that rate
