Katie, I gotta say, I've been watching your videos since pre-pandemic and I am proud of the way you have been growing "the right way up". I'm an oldster; a middle aged (gasp) lifetime crafter and artist and firstly, welcome to "the club"! You're not supposed to tell people that until they turn 30, but since you're looking forward to it, hey. To explain the "right way up" thing, people especially in the South where I'm from formerly, tend to age into worse versions of their parents. You can either get more open minded and curious and empathetic, or you can be a "get off my lawn!" kind of adult. I have chosen to stay teachable and it seems you have, too. Keep it up! 🫐
You're prices have always been fair. I've gone to bazaars and craft fairs where there have been homemade soaps, their prices have always been higher than yours. It's one of the reasons that I keep purchasing my soap through royalty soaps
To me they are more expensive than the one i'll find in bazaar, but that's because i'm from canada and the currency + shipping bring up the bars at almost 20$ each lol. They are way over my budget from a technical point of view, but i still cut in other places to get them. I feel it's worth it. They are on display in my bathroom and they bring me joy everyday. I love choosing the next bar i will use and I love the conversations they sparks when i have people over. Plus, almost every soapmaker in my area tend to make very minimalistic design with only natural colors and essential oils. It is great for sure, but I love all the colors and funky designs from Royalty Soap. 😊
When I hit 30, I realized there really was something to that surge of self-confidence people talked about at thirty and beyond. Now I'm turning 38 this year, and I'm optimistic about 40! My thirties have been a blast, and I've come so far (house, career, fulfilling hobbies, travel), and I think my 40s will only bring more of that.
The design is SO pretty! It would look so amazing in a rainy day themed soap. You know, the kind of cozy weather where you curl up with a book and a cup of tea and watch the rain outside? :3 The teardrop design would be perfect for it.
Katie, I LOVE that you talk about trying to find ways to cut costs where you can, without making an inferior product. I'm definitely one of those people who can't really afford to buy artisan soap (especially once you factor in shipping!), BUT watching your videos inspired me to look into local soap makers in my area and see if I could avoid shipping costs on top of hand-made soap, and I found I actually have several options! I've gotten spoiled, I feel so annoyed now when I go out places and I have to wash my hands with other soaps, lol. I really love the way lye-based soaps feel (way more than glycerin soaps, which is what my mom always buys when she gets hand-made soap!) and I REALLY love being able to find soap that doesn't have extra crap in it, that isn't technically detergent or whatever else. It's also something I think about a lot as a seamstress! Especially since I've gotten into embroidery. It makes me so so happy to see my friends and family wearing masks or using pouches that I embroidered for them, but if I charged a customer what my labor should cost for how long it takes...it would be absurdly expensive. I've definitely been thinking lately about how I like making things, and I cannot just keep storing one million pouches in my house because I have WAY too many to use myself. Yes, I deserve to be compensated for my skilled labor, but also...if I'm going to make these for fun anyway, maybe selling them for cost of materials or with a very small markup that doesn't entirely cover my labor isn't the worst thing in the world. People deserve to have nice things, AND I deserve to have the things I make and enjoy making go somewhere they will be USED, instead of sitting on my desk once I've finished them. Obviously that's not a sustainable business model or anything, but it does let me recoup some of the costs involved and gets my work into people's hands. I also really like the unpredictability of this soap, especially since it's comparatively simple otherwise. It's like a fun little surprise!
I like the unpredictably! And it is so wonderful that you are being cost conscience. BUT, life is what it is, and I am juat trusting that you know that we understand if prices have to go up. 3x the cost of ingredients is killer! No joke! I say this because I want to be able to have Royalty Soaps for as long as you are able! 😉❤
Might be difficult because of Katie's focus on ecologically friendly glitter, and I don't believe that exists for holo? If it does, that would be awesome!
I would adore a line of "Oopsoaps" or whatever you'd name them - the trial runs, times when it thickened up too fast or slow, or just something unpredictable happened. It adds character, and they all suds up the same!
She has a line of soaps that don’t quite meet her standards. She calls them peasant soaps and they are marked down. They suds up the same and smelly lovely, they still look lovely too but they aren’t what the final product actually looks like .
When you blended that shocker blue into the oils…stunning color ❤ Your joke about the ghost swirl was hilarious 😂 I think the soap turned out so cute with those blueberries and the shimmer on top was so pretty ❤
Keep it! It’s my favorite layered design yet 😍 the top color is beautiful as well, I would lighten the two middle shades to better bridge from bottom to top 🌈
Katie, I turned 30 last year and it's been the start of the best decade of my life! Things will always be hard, but you've grown and adapted more than you realize. Life is a musical thing, and we're simply dancing along side it :)
I honestly LOVE how light the top layer is. For being a "blueberry milk" it makes me think of blueberry latte vibes. And oh my GOODNESS that sparkle me blue on top!! Ahaaaa!!!! It reminds me of one of those Instagram [and I assume tiktok] tubs of slime and I just wanted to dip my hands in it lol forbidden fun as always. But love the design! I think if anything the uniqueness is fun, flat layers would be too bleh. So if not this then maybe some light texturing to keep it organic feeling 😊 also love that you share such amazing messages with the internet. Your positivity always brightens my day and keeps the one stand of sanity I have remaining in tact 😂😂
Omg thank you SOOOOOO much for letting people know that not everyone can easily afford hand made soap! I grew up with my mum putting water in our shampoo to make it last longer, and survived on cereal, pb & j, and spaghetti in my 20' s. I'm so lucky to be able to buy nice things for myself, but I will never forget what it was like to be poor.
They are perfect as is, but, I can understand wanting to tweak them a little if they don't perfectly match your vision. As always, you have a beautiful design and a wonderful video. Thank you for inspiring me to make soaps too! I've been at it since you put out the safety video about Lye. ❤
No! For a free-balled design- it looks fantastic! I love it; it looks like if someone had just added a blue-dyed cream to the top of a Blue Heaven thickshake!
Today's embeds remind me of rhinestoning things, which I do a lot as a cosplayer 😂😂 now I'm curious if any of the rhinestoning tools to pick up the rhinestones would also pick up the embeds.
I appreciate you making sure that people of all price ranges can have access to quality soap. I have sensitive skin, so I can't go simply with every sort of soap on the market. Knowing how my soap was made and what was used in it is a huge factor for me.
I fully subscribe to the life motto of "What will be, will be". Whatever the soap turned out as, that's what it was meant to look like! (I do the same with my own art :D)
Hi Katie Please don't forget to show us your packing and behind the scenes. And you gonna enjoy your 30's so don't panic. Sending love and hugs from Pretoria, South Africa.
The only thing I would change about the design is making the blue a little more periwinkle-ish instead of the truer blue that it is right now. Blueberries are almost lavender when put into a smoothie! Lovely design 🫐
I found you a few years ago and ever since I've been slowly acquiring soap making supplies including your soap frosting kit (amazing value for the money)
1:20 I saw some cute arm covers with moon phases and octopus on them period not sure if those are protective enough. I'm not sure what type of material you need but if you look them up, they are pretty cute
My 3 year old had had to do breathing treatments this last week and your videos have been my saving grace! She asks to watch “cake and ice cream” every time. 😂 Your videos are perfect treatment length, too!
The affordable luxury thing is so real. Groceries are so expensive now and rent and electricity... I mean my cheap and cheerful biscuits and sweets that I'd get with my monthly shopping are things I have to forgo now. And like, thats not the end of the world. But I'm living off my storecupboard and frozen food stash so that I can postpone my grocery shop for a couple of weeks which is fine and I'm lucky to be able to do that, but it's still scary to see the store cupboard staples running out. I can't buy anything extra right now much and all as I really value things like nice soap and small luxuries. It's so nice to know that sellers get that.
I love this soap design! I think this would be a great method to make some drink themed soaps. Imagine a root beer float soap with the top color as the foam and a little ice cream scoop embed!
I absolutely love how dedicated you are to making high quality soaps and content, while being the kindest person and humanitarian ❤️❤️ I’ve been watching you for at least 6 years and I finally was able to buy some of your soap, it’s absolutely amazing stuff!
I love this design as is! The lighter top layer looks like frosting or some kind of frothy blueberry milk at the top of a yummy summer drink! Keep it! ❤
The top layers dripping looks like the blob drips we get when pulling your nail polish wand out of the bottle!! I LOVE your soaps and I’m definitely buying this one!! 💙🫐🍃
I just checked out your new website and I throughly enjoy the new under $10 section! Such a great idea. Everyone deserves such beautiful products! And makes it easy to purchase gifts for people you like but don’t know well, teachers, aunts, etc. thank you!
That's a good design anf it adds interest. I think it's a keeper. You can also do an actual ghost swirl (similar concept but you would vary the water amounts of each layer instead of the color).
The website is beautiful! Your prices have been great! Thank you for the royal creative academy, I have loved learning how to make soap! Would love more videos teaching techniques.
The textures look so cute! Though the colors reminded me, my sis and I LOVE Bluey, I feel like that's something you'd love to watch too if you haven't! If you make a cartoon dog/full Bluey inspired set that'd be SO fun!
Blueberries & cream was the first soap I bought from you....YEARS ago!! I think you were in the shed or garage & were wearing the coveralls. Still probably my favorite soap...or the caramel pear!! That scent was amazing!! Will definitely be getting one of these. Maybe some lotion too??!! I like the design as is. I think the difference in the drops looks really cool...thinner to thicker drops.
I think the unpredictability would make the soaps even more unique!

honestly Katie - turning 30 was the best thing for me. I felt like an actual adult then! Look forward to it, your 30s are GREAT!
So are your 60s.
I second this. Turned 30 last year and I finally felt like everything is in a place where I want it to be.
I agree. I did really feel like an adult. I found out alot about myself, like Motherhood, lolol
My 30s have been the best years of my life!!
just wait till you hit your 40s... It's amazing!!!
You're prices have always been fair. I've gone to bazaars and craft fairs where there have been homemade soaps, their prices have always been higher than yours. It's one of the reasons that I keep purchasing my soap through royalty soaps
Those ones at bazaars probably aren't buying in bulk either which tends to be cheaper. Just something to keep in mind.
@@AnnieN99that's a very good point
@@AnnieN99as well as those people have extra overhead to pay for, I've heard vendor fees can be ridiculous

You should do this layering style for a rain or cloud type!! It literally looks like clouds are raining down with a blue sky behind it
completely agree with everyone saying to reuse the design concept as a rainy day themed soap!
When I hit 30, I realized there really was something to that surge of self-confidence people talked about at thirty and beyond. Now I'm turning 38 this year, and I'm optimistic about 40! Oooh, 40's are even better! You're gonna love it! Combine that 30's confidence with 0 effs left to give, and honey, we got it made!
Katie really is an angel 😭❤️ keeping prices down while also keeping a high quality product?? No on does it like her. Revolutionary 👏✨
The design is SO pretty! It would look so amazing in a rainy day themed soap. You know, the kind of cozy weather where you curl up with a book and a cup of tea and watch the rain outside? :3 The teardrop design would be perfect for it.

Farmers defense makes really cute protective sleeves. I've seen a lot of soapers use them!
16:18 "I thought I was really going to be doing something..." I feel like that's me every time I do anything crafty
I love the idea of making a soap based on nail art! You should make this a series and you also do the bail art on your nails 💙
I made soap today with 2 friends- and now here you are with a new soapvideo. Great to end a good day.
🥰
Love the shimmer top!! This would make a great water/pond with a Lilypad or water lilly theme soap!
I love the top! It looks like a cold foam dripping through!

BRAVO Mrs.Royal almost 1 million subs while keeping your clothes on!! BRAVO!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is brilliant! I once made a soap based on my tomato basil soup that had a dollop of sour cream. It was spicy red, white, green and dark orange.

I think you should keep this design, I love it! Very cool 😎
Oooooooohhhhhhh fantabulous!
Predictably is no fun i love the surprise that comes with the something unpredictable
I like it! Keep em unpredictable
That technique would look really good for an street art or modern art soap.
I love the drops! And I like the lighter top too

I love the drop design on this soap!
You are such a light Katie. Such a good soul. Many blessings your way ❤
I like the design. It's unique and pretty.

Katie, I love watching you make your soaps. You’re always so creative and inspiring. Thank you ❤ plus your soaps are always wroth the purchase.
I really like how it turned out, it's like a drippy glaze on a cake
The textures look so cute! Though the colors reminded me, my sis and I LOVE Bluey, I feel like that's something you'd love to watch too if you haven't! If you make a cartoon dog/full Bluey inspired set that'd be SO fun!

i think you should keep it!! the "waves" are so cool!!
Katy, you should try gardening sleeves! I heard about them from a fellow homesteader, and have been considering getting a set for soaping too!
Looks like a mountain with rain pouring down
Great looking bars! The very first soap I bought from you was Blueberry Cream. If I can get to the shop in time, I will definitely be getting one!
Pretty!
