  • This is something they don't show you with the tour boats. The west side of Faroe erupts out of the sea with cliffs that soar vertically for thousands of feet. It's a refuge and breeding ground for millions of birds each year, and has some of the most stunning scenery.
    It also has some amazing small sea caves which a boat can go through...if you're brave enough. Care to join us?

    What lovely people the Faroese have revealed themselves to be through this series of videos.

      This is part of the reason why Faroe is one of our favourite places...the people. We've made fast friends there, but have also been taken in by strangers who take a moment to stop by the boat for a cup of cheer. A cup of tea or a beer and suddenly the stories are being told and everyone is laughing. It is a very special place. -M

    A very special tour, with unimaginable sights. Thank you for the video, if you would have told me about the cliffs, caves, and passages, I probably wouldn’t have believed the tales, but the video is just beautiful! Congratulations!

      Yes. If it weren't for your ability to befriend locals in such obscure places in your travels, your videos capturing places like this would be an impossibility. That is what sets this channel apart from the others.

    Very spectacular. And so close to the rocks, Jesus! I guess a visit is only possible in optimal weather conditions?

    • @drakeParagon
      @drakeParagon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely. Trips like this where you go through the caves can only be done in the most settled weather. You can see, even with the calm day, how much swell there is in the cave and between the cliffs. It's a wild, wild place in a storm. - M

    • @MikeSantis
      @MikeSantis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Olav Thyvold at many cases it does. But here it would have been nice to feel the power of the water sounds and listen to the bird life. Just let nature play the background music for the video. It is also free 😀

    • @drakeParagon
      @drakeParagon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mike, Thanks for the feedback. :) I think the sounds of the waves, birds and wind would have been great, but the actual audio recording wasn't usable for this as most of the time everything was drowned out by the loud diesel engine or the drone propeller noise. I could have brought in some audio library sound effect clip art and done a lot of sound editing to try to make it believable, but I think in this case the music conveyed a lot and was the better option. I especially liked the part where I first stepped aboard the boat and sat down, where I switched to completely cutting out the audio and just had the music. By the way, did you see our Pianocean series? As a musician yourself, I though you might enjoy it. th-cam.com/play/PLOhEGypVYJG11Vszr-JYlAIGuRNp4kfGO.html
