    I remember seeing one of these posted to a small engine group back in May, totally blew my mind as to why anyone would change a design that's worked just fine for so many years lol

      I read that this company uses this same engine on their snow blowers. I don't see snow blowers in Florida so if in the future you see one make a video about it. I don't believe Jeremy has snow blowers in Texas. But I could be wrong. 😂

    Yah I have seen some videos on theses never one in person. Terribly mowers. Get a goat instead
    It’s like they had horizontal shaft engine that they didn’t want to design to be a vertical shaft. So they adapted it with more parts to fail.

    Thanks Mowermedic1 !!!! New subscriber here, excellent content you have here! Wow, I can't for the life of me figure out what possible advantage the guy who designed this thing thought he was offering. What a RUBE GOLDBERG !!!! Makes no sense to me at all. Thanks again.....will watch for your next show !!!!

    PowerSmart is the bottom of the barrel in power equipment. I bought a hedge trimmer, its OK for light use (I used it to cut vines away from a fence). The matching 20V trimmer is garbage.. Assemble the gear and keystock with plenty of grease and it will reduce the chatter and prolong its life, sounds stupid but it helps with other drive systems last longer.

    I would make one good mower out of two. Then get some extra wheels for the knocker and weld up that gear to the gearbox shaft and fill the box with grease and see how long I could use it till it self destructed the box!! Worth a try!! May work for years!! The twin machine I think will meet the same fate!!😊

    Just imagine going into some long grass and smoking your blade belt on a push mower 😅 also surprised they didn't use a cogged/timed belt. For $10 it was well worth the video, thanks for filming this. I won't be recommending them lol seems overcomplicated.

    I just looked at Walmart website. Blows my mind this model mower was the most expensive one the rest of this brand were not not the same horizontal motors im thinking that they disconnected them and are trying to dump the rest Chris from OHIO gooooooo Buckeyes

    Thanks for this video Jeremy. I've never seen this type mower til now. It definitely seems to be over engineered for what appears to be a simple push mower. They seem to be re-inventing the wheel here!!

    I JUST had that same mower come into my shop a couple of weeks ago! First time I've ever seen a horizontal shaft push mower, too. From what I found, it looks like it's some kind of chinese carp sold online. Did you ever find parts for it? Also... where did you get your lift? I NEED one of those!

  • @Smalltechguy
    @Smalltechguy ปีที่แล้ว

    These mowers were from a Walmart chain. I had the same from a customer who stated that it was using to much fuel, The reason is that it was all going straight into the crankcase. The exact same thing happened..bad crank. I have a new customer who has the 170CC engine and I can hear a strange noise even without the plug being installed. I advised her to get a newer motor that has been around for a bit, but even those are being made cheap as well.

  • @rogermcdonald1607
    @rogermcdonald1607 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jeremy ,i think i would just weld the gear to the crank and put it back together. When it eventually wears out just scrap the mower. Might get a few year of use out of it! 👍🇺🇸

  • @MariaEngstrom

    Is hard to understand what is the benefit with this design. Maybe the manufacturer had a warehouse full of these engines and another warehouse full of empty mover decks and had to come up with this design to pair the two. 🤔

    How much do you wanna bet that those engines are cheaper and more abundant in china because they can be adapted to more equipment, so it was probably cheaper to add the gear box to make push mowers out of a generic engine. That sure is a curious design. I can see the gear boxes failing from lack of maintenance in a few years and they will get tossed left right and centre.

    I have one of these. And the crappiness of this mower why I’m watching. The drive shaft wobbles around. It does fire and run like a champ. It’s just the blade is all over the place. Sigh. I don’t possess your repair skills. I feel robbed. It’s got me through one season. I guess.

  • @JohannZ100

    I feel it is a bad design the first time i saw it i knew it was a bad design. At work there is a Yazoo big wheel mower that came in it is so much better made than any consumer box store grade push mower heck its way better than a Honda the DR trimmer is a Good mower also. The worst walk behind mowers are the pulsar power smart and black max mowers with the plastic deck mowers home depot had powersmart mowers for over half the price the power smart mowers are poorly made also we have had alot of powersmart mowers come in and the customers leave them behind and we have to find a way to dispose of them dont buy powersmart mowers at any cost get a Toro

    WHY, WHY, WHY?! At first I thought maybe it’s a blade clutch so they went through all that to make the idler retractable, but no. I just don’t see any reason for that design unless they had a ton of horizontal shaft engines and a ton of pinion gears and needed to find a way to get rid of them all. Bizarre design and engineering FAIL!

    No room in the deck for grass clippings, I guess there is a bagger for it but it looks like the grass clippings will have to fight gravity to go up into the bag and stay there the way that rear chute is designed. It's all engine. The engine extends upwards with the gas cap on top and then extends down into the deck heaving little room for the grass to circulate. Terrible design, very little functional use whatsoever. Let's not even talk about the wheels. I've never seen lawn mower wheels wobble like that
