Trip Report: American Airlines Airbus A321: MAIN CABIN

On January 11th, I flew on an American A321 from Miami to Orlando in the main cabin. Here's how the flight went.

A friend of mine works for a company that builds the seats. Airlines are removing the IFE's for two reasons: 1. most people are using their laptops and tablets, thus no need for the IFE and 2. removing them creates about 500 lbs less weight which translates into better fuel economy. Other airlines are following suit so no one is offering a better in-flight experience than anyone else.

Hate to say you're wrong but you're wrong. United just announced they are re-installing IFE on their entire fleet, Delta never removed them in the first place, and AA is even considering it since their competition is now better than them. Go on a flight with IFE and look at all the people using the systems. They are more than worth it in the long run.

@@qasimahmed445 It's been mentioned internally a few times. AA doesn't want to do it, but DL and UA are forcing AA's hand in adding it back.

@@FLLAviation I believe they'll switch them out. With the new partnership with Thales' AVANT, they'll switch em out sooner or later.

Yikes I'm on an A321 tomorrow, I hope it's not an Oasis one! I loved the map screen when I last flew American in 2017. Also, you go to Embry-Riddle? That sounds so awesome.

I fly this from DFW to Lga August 2. My thoughts are that AA remains nothing more than a bunch of bean counters and if they aren’t careful Delta is going to eat their lunch with their huge investments at LAX (Already passed AA) and at JFK.

Do the armrest between the seats raise all the way up?...also what about exit row seats armrest?

Yes, the armrests in between seat raise, but not for the exit rows since the tray table is in the armrest

I tried doing that on a Spirit flight from Fort Lauderdale to Guayaquil. Really wasn’t at pleasant as I thought.
