As I already know what to expect here (thanks, Discord), I just want to throw a suggestion for Nanowar schedule. As "Valhalleluja" is indeed the best Christmas song of all time, it would make sense reacting to it around that time. If you want to do another one sooner, "Norwegian Reggaeton" or "... And Then I Noticed That She Was a Gargoyle" would be perfect.
@@TankTheTech Well, you can say they actually DID a lot of research for this song, one of them at least. And you were right, a scientist plays in the band. Glad you like them. Be ready to be surprised ; )
Although in the credits, the location is stated as Milano, according to a comment in the official MV, the background location is the Observatory of Campo Imperatore in Gran Sasso National Park in Abruzzo, located in central Italy (regionally wise, it is South Italy). Some of the "Spaghetti Westerns" have been filmed in this national park too, so the scenery might look familiar.
Generally many Spaghetti Westerners were filmed in places like Almería in Spain, especially those directed by Sergio Leone (The Dollars Trilogy) Filming the interior scenes at the famous Cinecitta studio complex in Rome
Italian Metal band, Italian guy here. They have been made comedy songs since the beginning, but used to sing in Italian. In the late years they began to sing in english, maintaining their comedy style. I've seen them live more than once, and even though they never take ANYTHING serious, the band can f*ing shred. The 'Stayin' Alive' reference, I caught almost immediately!😆 I've been binge watching a bunch of their videos tonight and I've caught *SO MANY* subtle references and throwbacks to other songs. I just found out about these guys earlier today, and just having a blast watching other people reacting to their stuff. They're fkn hilarious and hella talented!!🤣 🤘😎🤘
I found out about this band from Chase's reaction to Norwegian Reggaeton and loved that one. Valhallelujah has become my favorite song of theirs though as it is great from both a musical and humor point of view and just makes me happy. Great stuff. There is a little bit more gear in the Valhallelujah video as well. So much fun.
They usually parody different bands and genres in their songs. For example they have done Manowar, Italian fantasy metal, Norwegian black and so on. "Barbie MILF Princess of the Twilight" is my absolute favorite song by them.
I'm so happy you did this reaction! One of their most famous song here in Italy is "Giorgio Mastrota (The keeper of inox steel)" which is a parody dong about one of Italian most know tv salesman. They also did a song featuring Angus McFife from Gloryhammer (another power metal & hilarious band I suggest to you) about Ikea furniture: Valhalleluja. I saw them live and they're really skilled musician, other than extremely funny!
i was so much waiting for this moment XD i'm Italian and i listened to that song already 15 times, and to all the people that are not from Italy the last word said is "cul" not "cool" (which means ass). if i can suggest i would say "barbie milf princess of the twilight","Ironmonger", "Norwegian reggaeton", "and then i noticed that she was a gargoyle" and "vallhalleluja" :)
Always great to hear your reaction. This song made me cackle like a loon. NoS are a parody band which are so on point with their genre parody that the song is actually a great example OF the genre. The sailor scout outfits made me jump for my phone, yes that's Sailor Uranus' bow and skirt colour. I'm frankly amazed they got away with it! I also have a pet theory that they attempt to put a short sample of another song in all their new releases. This one was staying alive as you noticed. Norwegian reggaton next Tank, do it, watch with cc so you can see the full translation though!
Hey Tank, I really enjoy your videos! Love your insight into the gear and everything. I actually made a reaction to this too and noticed you posted it a few hours before so I had to watch your take on it. Keep up the great work dude! :)
Thank you Tank! I guess this was the best reaction we ever had to a video 😀. Keep on with the dedication and accuracy and thanks also for pointing out the video production people. Really appreciated! Keep up! I'll stay tuned for more reactions 😉
You simply have to do the following songs as well: “Then I noticed that she was a gargoyle” “Norwegian Reggaeton” (mostly because of the references in the song) and last but definitely not least “Valhalleluja”.
You did it, after i suggested it.. perfect. Thank you! For more Nanowar: Norwegian Reggeaton (with captions) Valhalleluja (feat. Quest for Carrefour sounds like Blind Guardian in some parts. Call of Cthulhu sounds like Rammstein in some parts. They have an entire parody on Emerald Sword. I consider it their specialty. Taking styles and creating new songs on it.
Although there was not much gear to talk about, it was a fun reaction loaded with facts about Uranus. Love that you can poke fun at yourself, and the trivia regarding AFI also.
DUDE I'm happy you finally checked these guys out! They are hilarious. If you want to get the full feel for how funny they can be, please, please react to Norwegian Reggaeton! It's my favorite by them, and it really has everything that makes Nanowar great. I can gurantee that you'll be smiling at the end of that video. Also, fun fact about the back up dancers, the costume where they are wearing the skirts, is a character from the hit anime Sailor Moon, Sailor Uranus. I never thought I would see someone cosplay a Sailor Moon character in a heavy metal video. But if anybody can do it, its them. :)
Thanks so much for the video and for all the explanations you put out there! It looks like you had to take some time to gather all the material, so thanks and sorry for making you waste your time :D Just two more things: 1) Thanks a LOT for appreciating my PRS guitar! You were wondering if it's a core or a SE: actually is a 2019 limited edition of Custom 24 SE Floyd model with the color "Sand Blasted Swamp Ash Yellow". 2) References: You missed some more musical references in the video! but I won't say which ones ehehe. Dude, thanks for commenting, and thanks for the info on the PRS. And yeah, no idea how I caught “Stayin” Alive” but missed the others. 😂 Can’t wait you hear more! Very happy the TH-cam community has turned me into your band.
Since they've made a video for Uranus, I wish they'd go back and make a video for "Blood of the Queens". As someone who loves Manowar hearing them make a comical song that completely rips off Battle Hymns is perfect. Gave me a chuckle when I said "yeah literally everyone heard that reference" right as you had the info say same thing.
And I thought only pinworms live in Uranus. They need septic tank there. Ahhh I remember Sailor Moon. Don't judge me. 9 year old me was being forced to watch it at watergunpoint by my sister.
Basically, Nanowar sounds whatever way the song requires it. Also, you should react to Ultra Vomit - Kammthaar, they are french and the song is a satire of Rammstein (sort of)
They have many fun songs. Valhalleluya is great christmas song about nordig furniture, norwegian reggaeton is a joy that can cure depression and their Judas Priest-like song Heavy Metal Kibbles i can't get out of my head. Definitely recommend to check more from them :) Edit: Oh yeah, how i could have forgot about Vegan Velociraptor, Jurassic animalist.
Two other great songs from this band: Norwegian Reggeaton (best listening for summer vibes) and Valhalleluja (Found this one around christmas ´19 and it fits perfect)
What I love in thsi band is the mix of styles, humour and pure rock/metal. They NAIL it. If you subtract the lyrics you can see how solid it is. I discover this band years ago with an Irom Maiden cover "the number of the Bitch" and the last album is great. I had the opportunity to watch them live this year and they have a great presence on stage. They have some musics in english and others in Italian - that I love so much, but they don't often play it outside Italy, but the show was great. If you can, listen all albuns in sequence (there are some repeated songs between the two first albuns) to check the evolution.
Nanowar of Steel is always fun, you should do "Norwegian Reggaeton" next which has alot of references to the oldschool black metal scene in Norway from the 90s. And ofcourse as everyone else is saying "Valhallelujah" is a must closer to christmas.
YES! Great song by Nanowar of Steel! My other 2 favorite ones are "Call of Cthulhu" and "Tricycles of Steel". The first contact with this band I had around 2005 with the song "166 - the number of the bitch". Masterpiece!
Another great reaction. Now for another reaction, I would say Nightwish’s While Your slips Are Still Red Wembley. I usually just turn subtitles off if I want to read a fact. Most of the time I’ve seen a music/ live video so I’m here for your reaction I actually got the Stayin Alive reference
You do not know Nanowar? On your knees sinner! Repent! This is kind of parody metal band they started making fun on guess who? (look at name "Nanowar" does it sounds familiar to you?) but now they all over the place. And (i guess) their's way of making fun of some kind of music is to invite musican really doing it to help. Here they invited "hair metal" vocalist to make fun. On other ocasion they worked with Rhspsody's frontman to make fun of his creations. Lots of that stuff and it is hillarious. My next step would be "Norwegian Reggetron" to see how Despacito might sounds if was done by black metal band. Or go for Vallhalleluja (probably misspelled it badly) to listen how power metal sounds mixed with gospel choir. Anyway, if you need fun - enter that rabbit hole. You will not regret that.
Norwegian Reggaeton!! With subtitles! Since hearing it for the first time a couple months ago, I have listened to it or watched it again at least a hundred times. This song is absolutely one of the most catchy/ear worm songs I know of. Think Psychostick's "Obey the Beard" or "Because Boobs".
I think there are basically three songs you could check, each one with a different degree of hidden references and jokes: Valhalleluja: a straight song about worshipping norse gods in the current days. Contains mostly references to real world pop culture. Norwegian Reggaeton: how would reggaeton be if made in the country of black metal. Has puns on nordic topics and the origins of black metal. You will need the version with english subtitles added to the original spanish subtitles for the reggaeton parts. Barbie, MILF princes of the twilight: a brilliant satire about the ultra-cheesy and melodic power-metal scene in italy, specially the band Rhapsody. Every single verse mocks it in some way, but is impossible to follow unless you are familiar with the scene.
Holy shit! I just realised that the backup dancers wear all Sailor Uranus uniforms (from the anime Sailor Moon, where they are all named after planets). That's such a niche reference and I love it lol
I have never heard the music of this group, it is fun for a while although not something you will hear on a regular way. The guitar riff is quite catchy. I know they are not very new, but I wish you could react to bands like Moonspell, Haggard or Orphaned Land. great job you do, I'm a fan. greetings from Mexico
Great reaction - they have many great songs, picking the style that best suits the topic they want for each song. And they frequently put in a lot of references, not just in the music. Did you spot the dancers being dressed up as sailor uranus? :)
Also elements of Age Of Aquarius from "Hair" and "He-Man Woman-Hater" by Extreme in the melody towards the end. It was filmed in Argentina. You thoroughly covered Uranus. It's most appreciated. 😉
"I'm a huge AFI fan" - Tank. Me - "OH NO SHIT MY FAVORITE BAND!" They and Nightwish battle for the top spot daily. It's just nice to share interests with cool people.
One reference that was missed was The Age of Aquarius, right after Stayin Alive, although you'd have to be a certain age to recognize that. By The 5th Dimension, released in 1969.
Another hit of the band is "Iron Monger" It's just a lyric video but it's full of Easter eggs. A few examples: The name of the band is a reference to "Manowar". The title "Ironmonger" of course on "Iron Maiden". The subtitle "Copier of the seven keys" refers to the "Helloween" albums "Keeper of the seven keys" At the beginning the many "Hail Hail" calls refer again to a song from "Manowar". The running tool is of course a nod to a "Pink Floyd" video. "Lord of the Towelrings" refers to the Helloween album "Lord of the Rings" Of course also the "guitar solo" which emerges as the saxophone solo "Baker Street" by "Gerry Rafferty". Not to forget the Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson with the EU flag. These are the Easter eggs that caught my eye. Certainly there is a lot more.
I wish you had started with their "and then I noticed she was a gargoyle". definetely check it out. nanowar of steel are silly, fun and entertaining so much. greetings from germany.
Man oh man.. I usually don't subscribe to any channels but this thing you are doing.. it's just pure gold! Please continue to do what you are doing! This channel will be huge! And while you are at it, please PLEASE check out Avantasia! "Avantasia - 3 Songs - Live at Wacken Open Air 2017" is a monster of a video, but damn if it's not worth it! Can't help but love Tobias Sammet's work.
They're just the best at sounding like, or rather making parodies of, other bands. The Quest for Carrefour sounds more like Blind Guardian than Blind Guardian at points, and Hail to Liechtenstein is just the essence of Manowar. And while they're a comedy band, there's just so much talent there, also in their original songs. My guitarist actually hates them for being so good while not being serious :D
Just finished a hard working day, this was exactly what I needed to snap out of the bad mood, thank you! Wishlist: do some Gloryhammer (songs? I love them all but maybe Gloryhammer or Hootsforce) before going into Valhalleluja and please turn subtitles on for Norwegian Reggaeton, funniest parts are in Spanish!
Both singers of this band are sooooo good dude.. I dont even like these styles of singing for the most, but they kill it all the time. And both have great range too. Wish they were doing some kind of music i really like for the feeling and not just for the laughs.
Well mate u need to know that the guy who writes the lyrics for band (gatto666) is Bass player, backing vocals, manager, polyglot and Astrophysics Ph.D. YES HE HAS PHD IN Astrophysic HE IS SCIENTES THAT THOSE SILLY SONGS IN HIS FREE TIME.
Great reaction (I love your tank facts) the next time you want to try some thing different, you should try Van Canto with Primo Victoria (video) or Rebellion (Live or video) all three have interesting guest vocalists
the guitar solo before Staying Alive sounded very much like the solo to Love in an elevator by Aerosmith.. and I'm coming DOWWWWWWN is basically the end of Highway to Hell by AC/DC too.
Yay! Nanowar! After this you need to watch a video from Gloryhammer (I recommend the songs "Gloryhammer" and "Hootsforce"), and then circle back to Nanowar of Steel for the song "Valhalleluja", which features the vocalist from Gloryhammer in his band persona. Then you need to check out "Drunken Dwarves" by Wind Rose ("Diggy Diggy Hole" is great too though).
I think the 2020 version of this song is different than the 2018 version on their last album. That version didn’t have the singer from Steel Panther on the track, if I remembered correctly.
Dude thank you so much for taking the time for such a detailed and on spot reaction! We are so happy you liked the video. You don't have to react to everything we did but if you liked this one there is plenty more you'll definitely enjoy. Cheers!

But do not make mistake Chase did. Turn on translation coś non english are hillarious too.
Nanowar of steel - valhalleluja!!!!! best song of theirs imho
I think there are basically three songs you could check, each one with a different degree of hidden references and jokes:
Valhalleluja: a straight song about worshipping norse gods in the current days.
Great reaction as always Tank :) Love it. Next time you are checking out Nanowar you should give the song (and video) Norwegian Reggaeton a listen ;)
Holy shit! I just realised that the backup dancers wear all Sailor Uranus uniforms (from the anime Sailor Moon, where they are all named after planets). That's such a niche reference and I love it lol
I ALMOST said something about the sailor moon outfits but don’t know why I’d didn’t. Haha
One of the top that recommended. Woot!
Great video :D
I heard this song first time today :D
I have never heard the music of this group, it is fun for a while although not something you will hear on a regular way. The guitar riff is quite catchy. I know they are not very new, but I wish you could react to bands like Moonspell, Haggard or Orphaned Land. great job you do, I'm a fan. greetings from Mexico
Great reaction - they have many great songs, picking the style that best suits the topic they want for each song. And they frequently put in a lot of references, not just in the music. Did you spot the dancers being dressed up as sailor uranus? :)
One of the best songs from Nanowar at my opinion ìs : sneeze term of a yawn, it´s so hiliarius and sounds realy good too !
Also elements of Age Of Aquarius from "Hair" and "He-Man Woman-Hater" by Extreme in the melody towards the end.
It was filmed in Argentina.
You thoroughly covered Uranus. It's most appreciated. 😉
It wasn't filmed in Argentina, "Buenos Aires" is a famous location in Milan.
"I'm a huge AFI fan" - Tank.
Me - "OH NO SHIT MY FAVORITE BAND!"
They and Nightwish battle for the top spot daily. It's just nice to share interests with cool people.
I saw AFI a while back in Nashville with Anti-Flag and Rise Against and it’s was SUCH a good concert.
The subtitle "Copier of the seven keys" refers to the "Helloween" albums "Keeper of the seven keys"
At the beginning the many "Hail Hail" calls refer again to a song from "Manowar".
You'll get comments requesting Norwegian Reggaeton and Valhallelujah but and then I noticed she was a gargoyle is pretty hilarious too
that guitar solo, sliding with a sick! lol
Got to love this!!!!
Love your "tank facts"!
i love the homage they are paying to "Staying alive", "Highway to hell" and Sailor Moon ^_^
Thanks a ton, man! Much appreciated!
Definitely doing Gloryhammer next week. 🤘
My first thought was hair band sound also, sounds great.
Staying Alive.......the words came out of our mouths at the same time! 🤘🇦🇺
Both singers of this band are sooooo good dude.. I dont even like these styles of singing for the most, but they kill it all the time. And both have great range too. Wish they were doing some kind of music i really like for the feeling and not just for the laughs.
Dont worry about the Bee Gees thing, you ARE special, in the whole history of mankind there will only be one you.
Nice video, keep them comming.
The next Nanowar video: Nanowar Of Steel - Barbie MILF Princess Of The Twilight (Lyrics Video)[feat. Fabio Lione]
@4:37
Stayin' alive music vid reference
I even think that I've heard some references to "Aquarius" of the musical "Hair".
Sorry dude, I though, "Hmmmm, BeeGees ?" Excellent reaction Tank. Thanks for the fun astronomy facts too. cheers.
They even did the disco arms on the Staying Alive bit XD
Great reaction (I love your tank facts) the next time you want to try some thing different, you should try Van Canto with Primo Victoria (video) or Rebellion (Live or video) all three have interesting guest vocalists
Haha, love the non-music related Tank facts!
the guitar solo before Staying Alive sounded very much like the solo to Love in an elevator by Aerosmith.. and I'm coming DOWWWWWWN is basically the end of Highway to Hell by AC/DC too.
Yay!
Fun Fact: the female dancers had their roles named after moons of Uranus.
Quest of carrefour with the pastiche song of Blind Guardian is excellent and the video of Then I noticed It was a gargole is illarious too !
Valhallelujah is still their best imo, but this one is definitely up there as well !
Did get the 'Stayin' Alive' reference though. But if have to admit I'm a Bee Gees fan. So not getting this would be the error of a lifetime 😄
There’s a lot more gear in “Valhallelujia”. It would be awesome to get your reaction to that one. “Norwegian Reggaeton” is also great.
Valhalleluja and Norwegian reggaeton is a must for you!🤘
This was great! 🤣 You should do Shireg Shireg by The Hu in the Sirius XM studio. You get a great feel for them and their instruments.
i love how happy you were to notice stayin alive but then completely missed the less obvious aquarius straight after it :D
Yeahhhhh. Haha
The last word is "Cool" and sounds like "Cul" (Culo) which means "Ass" in italian.
In a Uranus song it is simply genius!!
Did you like spaghetti metal? 😉🍝🇮🇹
And did you recognize at the solo beginning 6:09 , the Aerosmith quote from the "Loving in an elevator" solo?
Very mature Tank Facts there... 😂😂😂
Very. 😂
This is a good reaction!
Omg, I knew they were dressed like Sailor Moon characters, but just realized he did the transformation pose!
I think the 2020 version of this song is different than the 2018 version on their last album. That version didn’t have the singer from Steel Panther on the track, if I remembered correctly.
