As someone who has worked the call center for people’s cards, this isn’t a victimless crime. They think, “well as long as they eventually get the money back,” but they don’t think of the person 200 miles from home trying to fill up on gas in the middle of the night on a road trip, stranded in the middle of nowhere because their account is drained and now they can’t afford gas; or a family that can’t afford food for a week. I’ve seen this stuff happen too much to pretend it’s victimless.
They are switched on enough to know it's not victimless. If it's a scam they are unlikely to get money back. Only way is if the bank is good to then or makes concessions towards the relationship as goodwill. It's only straight fraud with 0 error on customers part they are guaranteed to get money back.
Worked at a big bank for Fraud protection for over ten years. You’re right it’s not victimless at all. It can get someone evicted if it’s at the wrong time, can keep a baby without diapers and formula, and can keep people from getting vital medications. People also don’t realize that the more idiots doing this stuff, the more fees on banks and cards go up so they can continue to make money.
My account was hacked (card cloned) the day before my daughter's birthday party. I went to the ATM to get the remainder of the money for the venue we booked for her party and money was gone. I ended up having to take out a title loan on my car to pay for her party. Although I was able to resolve what happened, the panic that I felt in that moment I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy
@@daisywaizy4139yikes. You couldn’t ask family or a friend tho bro?! Getting a title loan for a few hundred bucks is wild. Sad situation tho. Most scammers don’t target poor people. Usually only people with 50k in their account.
I used to know Dev personally. This guy is pretty smart. None of the stuff he's doing is real. That $10k he got from the bank, he walked in WITH the $10k originally and asked the clerk to count it through a money counter to see how much it was. The clerk them banded it up and handed it back to him. Everything you see is easily explainable. That's why he's never been caught, because there's nothing to catch.
That woman in the store was totally against scammers until she got some free stuff. This is how corruption works and how easy it is for people to become complacent.
Idk, I think she probably just felt awkward with a big group of criminals around her with a camera in her face, not that she was stoked that she got a free Pepsi
I think so too. Just say no thanks, you're not gonna get jumped at least you're not complicit in a crime. Maybe she felt threatened or like something would happen outside and it was just really weird, but I think in that situation I would have felt ok to say no even if I don't feel safe to call them out. Just leave and hurry away.
When Bruce said he hates $20s. Hates when people pay him in $20s. They're really smelly and been sitting around a long time.... my first thought was the $20s or the people? 🤣🤣🤣
I had my wallet stolen by a junkie who went on a shopping spree around town, using all my credit cards. I noticed and had all my accounts closed within hours and before too much damage (I did get all the money they spent back, but yes, it was a major pain in the butt), BUT this happened DAYS before my husband and I were taking our kids on our first family vacation since before the pandemic. I had NO ID and NO form of payment to go on vacation. It ruined our vacation!! Scammers have no idea what is going on in their victims lives and how much damage they might be doing. They are horrible people.

Yeah, but if you have your rent money in your account, and this dillweed steals your money before you can pay your rent, how much of a pain is that going to be, even if the bank eventually refunds your money.
My friend got $1800 taken from her bank account and it took a month for the bank to fix it. She was so stressed about how she was gonna pay her bills the whole time. Her husband is sick and she has a small child. So that’s who scammers are hurting.
Yep that’s the issue, sure people can and do get their money back, but not having that money available when they planned for it can change peoples lives. When you’re paycheck to paycheck without much of a safety net saved away, that one month can completely change your entire life
I'm in a similar boat right now. Some idiot bought 4 iPads with my credit card info before the credit card company started blocking the transactions. This was in early July and I haven't heard anything from the bank fraud team since our initial call and the transactions are still on my account. Honestly it felt like Apple was more helpful than my credit card company. So I'm pretty pissed at them.
I can’t stand people who steal from others like this. I spent hours dealing with the aftermath of someone trying to obtain a fraudulent loan under our business. Luckily, a letter was sent to our house because their bank refused the money due to the fact that it wasn’t our own business account. How it got this far, I have no idea, but I would love to have known the absolute scum who tried to do this to us.
Probably a current or ex employee, someone would have had to of known enough personal information to get that far, maybe someone who did your accounting, then had someone you didn’t know apply, they would have probably spoken to someone you dealt with or who knew enough about you from past dealings, and look and see if it was started when you were absent, generally they try when you are out of town..
had to blacklist myself on all credit unions from my dad stealing my identity many times, also did it to my mom & attempted with my gf. Never got to confront him; his landlord found him dead a few weeks later and tried to scam me + half-brother for rent, bills etc. he missed while deceased...then stole his keys & unpaid car. i wouldn't much mind if other scammers rotted alone too.
I think repeat identity theft criminals should be given life sentences. I mean they literally steal other people's lives so let their lives be stolen too 🙃
YALL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PETTY SCAMMERS, WE ARE ALL BEING SCAM BY THE FORCES THAT RUN THIS COUNTRY EVERYDAY , SO IF THE GOVERNMENT WHO WE LET LEAD US IS DOING IT THE REST IS GOING TO DO IT TO!!! DONT BE NIEVE TO IT & ACT LIKE WE LIVE IN THIS PERFECT WORLD. Everyone IS TRYING TO GET OVER THE BANKS , ALL THE BUSINESSES ETC…
As a bank fraud investigation manager I can assure you it is not a victimless crime. When the bank loses the community loses as well. And often the loss is put back on the customer. The Stories that I could tell you. Having said that a lot of people go along with the scams because of their own greed.
Giving people stress and stealing their time and putting marks next to their name is not victimless even if they get the money back but it's a load of bs that the bank isn't charging all they can get away with every quarter, if there were no scams it would be no different and many scams are only possible because of complacency of the bank and other institutions that make a calculation the losses make up for the gains, a calculation which never takes into account the victims who get hit. Sorry no sympathy for the wealthiest people in the world nickle and diming the poorest, not much better than the scammers just on the convenient side of the law.

My *FAVORITE* thing to do is ask obvious foreign scammers what the weathers like in the city that showed up on my caller ID. Had a guy in "Phoenix" agreeing how dangerous the icy roads were in winter. EDIT: It's all in good fun. I've had scammers in "Denver" agreeing that alligators are becoming a real problem. 🐊😂
Oh the puppy scamming thing is rampant - big time - when we got our pup 4 years ago thankfully my hubby is tech savvy and was able to do reverse image searches and such and we did not loose money. But we did eventually get a pup. Her name is Maggie Mae
sadly this guy is smarter than the lawyer. he's not really scamming it's all a facade so he can get people to join his online course. it's sort of brilliant.
Anyone who’s ever been a victim of identity theft will tell you it’s horrible. The worst part is is that the scammer now has the victims name in the judicial system as THEIR alias, so now the actual person, the victim, is constantly having the scammers record follow THEM and they constantly have to prove they’re the real person.
I was scammed. Someone charged $2,000 at Walmart on electronics. I caught it and my bank went after them. I think these scammers should go to prison. They put me through hell with the anxiety and having to wait for a new charge card.

My dad started getting calls telling him,his grandson was in jail and needs “bail” money, from several cities. Yes, he called me the first time and I promised him, he was fine and working. After the third call, he seriously started to believe them and thought we were lying to him. I had to ask my son to stop by his grandpa house on his way home and all was well. The reason he started to wonder is because, he worked at the airport and can fly where ever he wants, so it seemed plausible to my dad. He also thought maybe we were having money problems and didn’t tell him, I assured him we were doing fine and if I needed money for my child, I most certainty would ask him
I had the exact same thing happen to me, they said that my wife had a warrant out of Johnson county Tennessee, I’ve been with my wife since I was 15 and I’m 42 now and knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that my had never been to Johnson county Tennessee. Long story short they had a warrant and she was going to picked up the next day at our house. But they wanted $3,000 for a bond and they wouldn’t show up to get her. While I was on the phone with the scammer “Johnson county sheriff’s department” popped up on my caller identification my mind was blown honestly. I was just in Japan last month for a cultural exchange through my college and while I was there, I talked to some of the students who will be coming to my college for schooling and the number one question they asked was about property crime. It was so embarrassing to have to tell them that it is a real problem here. In Japan, property theft is almost non-existent. It's so sad that people are like this.

@Tactics_Actual that may be true, I don't actually know if that's how their justice system works but that's not why it's like that. The reason people don't steal in japan has much more to do with culture and history than it does the punishment for the crime.
I worked for a now defunct electronics store. One time out loss prevention caught a guy stealing like $20 of merchandise. For one reason or another, they decided to get the police involved instead of releasing him and banning him from the store (Maybe they had evidence of a past theft.) The police came and detained him and performed a search on his van. What they found turned made his mild crime of theft child's play. In the back of his van was equipment to create credit cards using info he skimmed from credit card reader. Additionally, hundreds of "blank" credit cards loaded with stolen card numbers. Loss Prevention celebrated that week.

My mother has had a situation where she kept getting fraud charges on her credit card. At this time my mother and I were about to become homeless and the charges would be for around $300 and $600 dollars this led to multiple nights of us both not being able to eat all the while living in a shelter. Hey, Bruce. Did you know that $20s are the most often counterfeited bills? No one checks them, so they're super easy to pass. In various jobs we always checked $50s and $100s, often badly (with the marker, which doesn't work if the bill is washed and uses real bill paper or something...) But we *never* check $20s. You're working at McDonalds, or a diner, or Walmart? It's too busy to be checking $20s. If you don't do it TERRIBLY, they're easy to offload and more profitable than $10s. Plus, no one even questions a stack of $20s because that's what ATMs dispense, duh. OF COURSE THE SCAMMER HAS A STACK OF $20s. OF COURSE HE DOES. IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW.
The newest scam going around right now is these guys saying their child just died and they're selling their PlayStation 5 for like $100. They tell you just pay for the shipping, and then say they have to send it in 3 different boxes so you have to pay an extra shipping fee after you already paid the $100.. Claiming a child died to scam people is beyond scandalous and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Bruce please promise you will cover the arrest trial and sentencing of this guy. He is so done and so stupid. There is a 100% chance he is going to jail.
I had 1000 withdrawn from my account along with an attempt to cash a 23,000 cheque, basically attempted identity theft, the cheque never cleared and once i noticed i reported it, but bc they used my pin to take out the 1000 out i was not reimbursed. Always change passwords every three months, passwords should be 12 characters long, and check your bank account daily. Bruce, welcome back and I love the facial features. So distinguished.
What we need to do is like they’ve done in Europe for at least the past 20 years and make every credit card accompanied by a manual PIN, which is decoupled from the card. This way, even if someone can skim a card, they still need the PIN. The fact is our banks are too cheap to invest in such a system and customers too lazy to take the extra time and effort.
A friend of mine got early onset dementia and she was scammed at least 3 times in 6 months. One was for $6000, one for $3000, and the third time my mom was there and caught it in time to stop her. These people are scum, most of the people they scam are not wealthy. They should get VERY long sentences.

I want the money from that, but then i think about what it does to people. And the thought of someone even just 1 person, having to have the feeling of knowing they were scammed no way. I can't do it. I can't hurt someone like that.
When he said the bank would give you the money back. Yes, they will, but you have to fight for it and know what you are doing a little bit. They won't automatically give you the money back. And if you have to pay rent by a certain day, like we do, and you get charged 250$ if it goes past the 14th of the month but you don't have money until the 13th or 14th and you pla to go pay it. Let's say the scammedr took all your money out on the 13 and you go pay you can't because there is no money. But the bank says, "Don't worry, we will take care of it the next business day", which isn't until the 17th because you went to pay as soon as you got off work Friday the 14th. Right before your leasing office closed where you have to pay rent. And guess what. Where I live, they don't care about your circumstances, even WITH PROOF. you're late, it's going to cost you 250$ if you can't pay it today. Or before the court house opens on Monday at 8am. And you have to pay your rent now plus the 250$. But what if you had 3xactly enough for rent or you have kids and that 250 was to buy them groceries. This fool doesn't care because he doesn't have to worry about being without. People live paycheck to paycheck. Not everyone has extra money lying around to help them get through things. People only think what they want so they don't have to feel bad and have it on their conscience.

Good call Bruce as always spitting the truth, enlightening folks and giving great advice that my friend is called a conspiracy what he did, even if he didn’t knowingly take part in the scam like you said, you can’t teach people how to scam that’s called a conspiracy, any illegal act with more than one person, or knowledge of a criminal act or enterprise( now they can’t look inside your head and know what you know or see what you know, but when you put it all on film for the whole world to see then yes) and yes, I tell my mom and my family and friends never use the machine at the pump unless the gas station is closed and it’s after midnight or after hours and you absolutely have to always go inside for many reasons one they can put a hold on your account sometimes up to $200 on a debit card which is crazy and they can’t do the skimming machines inside at the register only on the pump even some ATMs they have the skimming machines…
No, it is not conspiracy to teach people how to scam. Conspiracy requires much more than just plain information on how to do an illegal thing. Information on how to do something that is illegal, is 100% constitutionally protected speech. You don't get to conspiracy until you start making a plan to actually do it, or money changes hands. It's like saying it's illegal to teach someone how to hack into computers, it's just not. You can literally pay for classes and get entire degrees that will teach you how to hack into computers, there are entire TH-cam channels dedicated to teaching hacking. It's the entire concept of red team v blue team, big companies will literally pay people to try to hack into their systems, and in exchange the hackers write a report on how they did it and what to improve. Information like how to hack computers and how scams operate is 100% constitutionally protected speech, even things like how to make a bomb are constitutionally protected speech. Considering raw information like this as "conspiracy" is fundamentally contradictory to freedom of speech they cannot coexist together. Probably the best example is the Snowden case. Snowden took the information that he illegally stole from the government and gave it to the new York times. The new York times then went and publicly published these highly classified and illegally obtained information. By your definition of conspiracy, the new York times staff should all be in jail right now. We literally have a supreme Court decision on this very issue. It's called new York time co vs United States and the court ruled that not only could the government not punish the journalists who published the Pentagon papers, the court denied the governments request of an injunction against publication. Conspiracy requires a hell of a lot more than just posting on TH-cam how crimes are committed
@@rylandavis2976 yeah but if no one tells on you and you teach someone how to commit a crime if they can prove that it is a crime actually but yes, I know all about conspiracy bud and I didn’t plan anything and I was charged with conspiracy to …… when I was 19 years old because of some thing, my friend was doing, so not only do I have personal literal life experience with this my grandfather was also a criminal lawyer, a damn good one at that in Boston and had his own law firm, and his best friend who was also my godfather with the attorney general of the state of Massachusetts from 1975 to 79

@@brambigdeli5021 if someone steals classified government documents and gives them to a journalist and the journalist then decides to publish them. Is the journalist guilty of conspiracy? Gee if only we had a supreme court case on this very issue. Oh wait we do! It's called New York times Co vs Sullivan where the court ruled that the government could not only not criminally punish the journalist for publishing the illegal information, but the court also denied them an injunction to get the information taken down. You can still go read the Pentagon papers to this very day, and it's not a conspiracy. The film maker here is doing journalism, maybe it's ethically dubious journalism. But it is 100% constitutionally protected. It's total nonsense to claim that its illegal to teach someone how to do illegal things, you can literally buy books on Amazon that will teach you how to hack computers, buying one of these books does not mean that you are guilty of conspiracy to commit a cyber crime. Bruce is wrong on this and so are you. The video shows nowhere that the guy did anything to help him commit the crimes, and that's a necessary element of a conspiracy charge. They literally have entire reality TV shows, where they follow real drug dealers/mules around, and interview them and show what they do everyday, claiming that it's conspiracy is totally assinine, go read the elements required for a conspiracy charge and explain to me how the video maker fulfills those elements (he doesn't) For Gods sake, journalists literally go and interview terrorists, they sure as hell can talk to a scammer and film what he's doing

By far the most infuriating part of this video was the lady in the store, on her high horse about hating scammers... but was then quite happy to benefit from stolen money as long as she's winning from it. That's half the problem today, everybody beats the "be kind to others" drum when it requires zero investment and nothing is happening, but you watch how fast everyone is happy to screw over other people if it benefits them directly. This goes across all areas of life, even stupid minor things like those people who get up at 6am on holiday to throw a towel on a sunbed to stop someone else from using it... then rock up at 1pm to eventually use it. But as long as you're alright and got what you wanted, f**k everyone else. But be kind though and considerate though, as long as I say those words then I'm doing good in the world.
People get tired of being kind. Especially when you get screwed over and used by others. That's why I don't care anymore. Unless I know you or know that what I'll do for you will be of mutual benefit, it's best if we go our seperate ways. Most people are selfish and self-centered anyways. Or criticize like words could kill.
Do you mean the guy himself or the character has portrayed? His money is obviously legit and all the scams stuff is fake For the movie, right? But yeah, the character he is playing, the criminal, definitely terrible. But I don’t believe the guy is the criminal.. Surely no one would be so stupid as to produce their own confession
@@snared_ You got it right on the nose. He is simply portraying a character for his music, and he really just scams his own fans by selling "scamming methods" which are completely fake, and ultimately just a way for him to make some quick money.
He’s not a real scammer, he makes a fake lifestyle to make it look good then gets idiots to buy his “scam methods” through telegram where he gets them for 200-500$ each and then he blocks them, he has thousands of people on his telegram

It may be raunchy and it may be immoral, it's journalism and protected under the 1st amendment. unless he paid for his gas to go to the bank or he gave him a ride, aiding and abetting is an absolutely massive stretch.
@@rylandavis2976 What part of this is journalism? He's vlogging a crime and this is the same fool who thinks this is a victimless crime. He's quite literally driving them around to different places where they are placing fraudulent charges. AND he told him to get him something (sausage pizza) knowing that it was being bought fraudulently. At what point are you going to hold this guy accountable? And are you a lawyer?
I was rolling, laughing when the lawyer started telling his own story when he got scam Lol 😂 😂😂 I think his pride got the best of him. That’s why he became a lawyer. 😂
PunchMade Dev was mistaken about what the $250K threshold is for: That's how much is insured per customer (via the FDIC for ordinary banks and S&Ls, and via the NCUA for credit unions) in case the bank fails, but that doesn't apply if the bank is still financially healthy and it's just a particular customer that was scammed; there is no automatic protection in that case, but banks in most cases do eventually refund customers in cases of fraud. Also, another way in which this is not a victimless crime is that if the fraud is committed via a cloned payment card, the card-issuer will, after refunding the customer, seek that money from the *merchant* (who would then have standing to sue the fraudster), and especially in low-margin retail sectors, this can devastate small businesses.
I check EVERY point of sale terminal and ATM before sticking my card in. Also, be careful giving your card to waiters, as they generally walk away with it and are no longer visible.
I was losing my mind when I saw my son watching this video a while back. I'm so glad to see you react to all of this self snitching. I was blown away at how this was so much of a thing. Not the scamming part, but how brazen they were about it.
The most disturbing part is his lack or remorse. To say nobody gets hurt is bogus. At the least, businesses pass their losses on to the consumer via higher fees and prices. Plus, it’s a pain to replace all your cards or getting a new account.

I’ve been scammed like 10 times and I’m bed bound so I have no clue how people would even get my info!! It happened so many times at chase that they got rid of me after reimbursing me and I had tog o some where else and I just have a constant hold on my card unless I’m about to spend then I turn it off buy let it go through then put it back on hold. I’m on constant alert
@@mr.makedonija2627 Used to be like that with debit cards. It has pretty much all gone out the window though. I don't think credit cards were ever like that. Maybe pre-2000. I don't remember seeing family use a pin number for a credit card transaction in the 90s though. I have no idea pre-1990s.
My ex husband had his account hacked on Christmas eve. It played havoc with our plans for the holiday and well into the new year.

Yup. He's just scamming the lil kids in the comment sections.

I think so too. Just say no thanks, you're not gonna get jumped at least you're not complicit in a crime.

They literally have entire reality TV shows, where they follow real drug dealers/mules around, and interview them and show what they do everyday, claiming that it's conspiracy is totally assinine, go read the elements required for a conspiracy charge and explain to me how the video maker fulfills those elements (he doesn't)
