Whoever this guy was he was very fortunate to use Pierce and Dodge embalming products. What do you say before he was called Jaundy balm. It’s a very good fluid to mix in with your other fluids and pour into the embalming machine when you have a jaundice case. And belive , me a jaundiced body is a bitch unless you are very experienced because the discoloration of the skin has already taken place via the failure of the liver before the person died plus there’s always a lot of swelling. I have seen in the experience bullshit embalmers completely ruined any chance of a visitation of the loved one because of the fact they started off with a white or light skinned individual and ended up with a black individual due to their incompetence with jaundice embalming.
Why would they just leave many thousands of dollars worth of inventory there? Could it not be sold or donated? How is the electricity still on after being closed for 2 years? Something isn't right,
It looks like it can be saved and reopened to serve the community again. Some heavy intense cleaning and disinfecting should be done soon before this building is lost to neglect.
I have sooo many questions. If it’s been shut down for a couple of years, how are the lights still on? Like who’s paying the bill? And why is it still left as if they came in and closed it down that day, and never returned? Did they not have the time to even remove all of the equipment? Like somebody can literally come in and take a never used casket, take it to the funeral home that has their loved one and say I’ve already bought a casket… just so much😞

I'm from the UK and wow , none ,not one of our funeral homes have their own chapel/service room . Not sure exactly what you guys call it. ... Here the families pay an extra roughly £300 to have their loved one brought to a local church for a service
Chapel is what we in the south refer to that room. Some larger funeral homes have smaller rooms off to the side for multiple visitations and we call those Parlors.
I loved it when you called the big casket " Fat Daddy " Lol.... I worked for Batesville casket Comp. which all those are Batesville caskets except for the baby casket. I'm sure that funeral home owed us alot of money. Like a lot of funeral homes we had, many owed us $$$$$$$$$$$
Ok, those aren't neck 'restraints', they are neck blocks, they're used to help position the head & neck & they're not 'autopsy' tools but embalming tools :) The large needle/syringe is usually used for fillers for preparing the body for viewing. I know way too much about this stuff, I can see why this place was shut down :/
What you call the vaults and the urns are simply samples of vaults that the caskets go into. What do you call neck restraints are actually called head props. Good video.
Not to be crass but why would it matter if the embalming tools are sanitized? It’s not like they’ll pass on an infection. The fluid you saw on the table may or may not be embalming fluid
The owner probably left some bills behind, too. The wooden casket probably was the least expensive. Sometimes wooded caskets are used for viewing the deceased before they are cremate.
As a class 1 funeral director and embalmer for 8+ years , unsanitary condition could be anything from having a uncleaned embalming room, chemicals not well labeled , improper storage of the remains and lack of maintenance within the facility. It could also be not disposing of toxic waste properly. I have worked with funeral homes in the past that had questionable work ethics or even non following proper procedures. Unfortunately there are funerals homes that only worry about profit margins and its more about quantity rather then quality and thats when standards starts to drop and standards fly out the window. Also record keeping is extremely important because for my funeral home here in canada, we are required to hold records up to 10 years such as death certificates, cremation permits , burial permits and funeral invoices because you never know when there are times you might have to go back and look at them again or if the Bereavement board wants to audit them. Im not gonna go on speculation about this funeral home but there are many different reasons that a funeral could be shutdown and your license suspended or revoked. This is why after each shifts , my staff does end of the day inspections, deep cleaning of the prep room, visitation rooms and chapel. Also we always get a work order ready the day before for the next day service. Im sure many of you would want a Clean , Sanitary and professional funeral home to take care of your loved ones
You don't actually. There's sanitary and there's clean enough to meet state board criteria. An embalming room doesn't have to sanitize like you may think since there is no risk to the deceased. Transferring disease from one body to another is not a concern. However, there is a minimum standard for the living who enter that room - the embalmers. There should always be PPE worn, so it doesn't need to be like an operating room, but there shouldn't be random obvious risks either.
They should donate those caskets to families that don’t have insurance or money to pay, especially if you loose a child unexpectedly. Lots of people experiencing hard times.
Yea they really should. Theres a lot of money sitting in that room.

Casket is so big makes you wonder if will even get in the hearse !
I have seen in the experience bullshit embalmers completely ruined any chance of a visitation of the loved one because of the fact they started off with a white or light skinned individual and ended up with a black individual due to their incompetence with jaundice embalming.
what, no milk embalming? (obviously a joke!)
Jaundibalm is a godsend. Pre-injection seems to work well with a gluteraldehyde-based fluid too.
It was recently purchased after we filmed this video. Looks like someone is trying to save it.
@@abandonedcentral Thats good to hear! And those caskets are in excellent shape! Wow
Yet another great one, Bob! I'm pretty sure I'll never look at a urinal the same way again!
Sometimes a large casket is for those who want to be buried together.
Against the law to co mingle human remains. But I have seen mother and child placed together
....Wow...Where do You be finding all these places...????...Are they advertised in some Specific Place...????......!!!...Goodness...!!!.....😮😮😮
The mystery stains are probably blood mixed with embalming fluid. And yes that's a baby casket.
Italian awful that the owner ruined this place, and people trusted them
I have sooo many questions. If it’s been shut down for a couple of years, how are the lights still on? Like who’s paying the bill? And why is it still left as if they came in and closed it down that day, and never returned? Did they not have the time to even remove all of the equipment? Like somebody can literally come in and take a never used casket, take it to the funeral home that has their loved one and say I’ve already bought a casket… just so much😞
Yep.
That place isn't abandoned. This is staged.
The city sometimes pays it or it's on a grid
Abandoned? Wow looks like its still used just a bit
Awesome tour!
They won't go to waste..whoever bought the place will sell them
Great video. The equipment seems to be old and outdated.
No not really
Dude I worked at funeral homes for quite a few years, and some of the shit that goes on, seems borderline illegal, and as far as I know it was, but the place I mentioned below, has been I'm the news for illegal activities, when I worked there the owner was Tony Edwards, check into it see what you can find out, by the way.. love your videos
Def going to look into it! Thanks for watching Marty!
@@abandonedcentral no problem, I believe their still in business, and that's hard to believe, I'd be more than happy to fill you in with what I know, and thank you for responding that's so awesome.
how do u get inside are the doors unlocked?
Autopsies are carried out in the M.E 's office
I hope you are pretty proud of yourself
I'm from the UK and wow , none ,not one of our funeral homes have their own chapel/service room . Not sure exactly what you guys call it. ... Here the families pay an extra roughly £300 to have their loved one brought to a local church for a service
Chapel is what we in the south refer to that room. Some larger funeral homes have smaller rooms off to the side for multiple visitations and we call those Parlors.
Ugh. So disgusting. I about lost my appetite.
I loved it when you called the big casket " Fat Daddy " Lol.... I worked for Batesville casket Comp. which all those are Batesville caskets except for the baby casket. I'm sure that funeral home owed us alot of money. Like a lot of funeral homes we had, many owed us $$$$$$$$$$$
Worked in the funeral home industry. My place was very clean and professional but still hey, at the end of the day, it ain't pretty.
Would love a casket, unused of course
Ok, those aren't neck 'restraints', they are neck blocks, they're used to help position the head & neck & they're not 'autopsy' tools but embalming tools :) The large needle/syringe is usually used for fillers for preparing the body for viewing. I know way too much about this stuff, I can see why this place was shut down :/
Abandoned, looks good for businesses to me!!!
What you call the vaults and the urns are simply samples of vaults that the caskets go into.
What do you call neck restraints are actually called head props. Good video.
Why don't they donate the unused caskets to families that can't afford them, and has money issues. Don't understand that.
I really liked the dark green casket and I bet it costs over $10,000 ,
I could just see myself in the navy casket, it looks really smart.
Not a neck restraint, but head rests !!!!
Any dead maggots on the embalming table? I think I saw one at 8:36.
Awesome 👍😎
i like the casket with the doves flying above my head == those things look really comfy 💕💕👀🤭
Thanks for checking out our video!
Modern caskets are... not really that comfortable for anyone who can feel the inside.
I've been in a few, and they are absolutely back killers!
Not to be crass but why would it matter if the embalming tools are sanitized? It’s not like they’ll pass on an infection. The fluid you saw on the table may or may not be embalming fluid
Comment peux-t-on laisser de tel vestige à l'abandon ?😢
That was a baby casket. Not a neck restraint. It is used to lift the head. Would love to know the name of the funeral home and where it was located.
You don’t have to worry about the cops coming in and catching you! Ain’t no way they will come in there!!! Lol
The owner probably left some bills behind, too. The wooden casket probably was the least expensive. Sometimes wooded caskets are used for viewing the deceased before they are cremate.
What state is this funeral home at
So this is how it ends um ....and I'm a clean freak ...
😐😐
Excellent video
I am watching from Elmira NY in NYS if they don't clean the embalming room the funeral home would be closed down and the owner would be sent to jail
Another sweet score 😁
Thanks for watching Michael!
All the time 😁
Excellent video 👍👍
That's good it was shut down for being disgusting u have to always be sanitary
You don't actually. There's sanitary and there's clean enough to meet state board criteria.
An embalming room doesn't have to sanitize like you may think since there is no risk to the deceased. Transferring disease from one body to another is not a concern.
However, there is a minimum standard for the living who enter that room - the embalmers. There should always be PPE worn, so it doesn't need to be like an operating room, but there shouldn't be random obvious risks either.
