That design is most definitely not invincible :) Some clever ideas there though. I saw someone place traps poking slightly through the wall, so you can reset the traps from other side of the wall, but they still trigger on zombies on the outside. Makes keep traps set much easier. Also placing spikes on inside of wall such that they poke through the wall till damage zombies that try to attack the walls.
Oh yes there are some pretty nice tricks to deal with Cannibals! I'm working on a follow up video with additions to the build to expand on it and make the base even stronger! Looking forward to sharing them soon ^^
..uh..Zombies?? Lol sorry i gotta be that guy but they are either cannibals OR the non humanoid ones are including the humanoid shaped ones that have no eyes or mouth are "mutants"
Dont get me wrong, the Forest spawn is my favorite while if you want to quickly pick up some essential items, i think the mountain spawn is better to get the modern axe, flashlight, golf cart and slingshot first before you start building - imo best one to start fresh and get geared up fast
Can't you use the water defense still, or did they nerf that? You were able to build on a frozen lake and that made it impossible for most creatures to get to your base unless it is winter because the cannibals do not like to swim. There was also a way to make your base float using the half logs but they likely patched that 1.
Amazing video, thanks for sharing these tips. It really helped me. But, I’m struggling to survive as canibals one hit me and I die. Is there a guide about how do I defend or attack easily?
problem with it, is that it is very interactive. a peaceful resort is something we all want. Making it impenetrable, and not epicly strong when defending. iam strongly thinking about the sea... not making anything other than a platform in key location near beaches. As they do not freeze over. Travelling long distance to do story and exploring is done quite easy. Problem is with having a very secure base, we can call home and in peacfull mode away from them all monsters basically.
I spawned in the mountain this playthru (and the one right before this that i decided to trash and start fresh lol) and i think the best thing to do is head a little south east along the mt ridge and get the hanglider first. It's less than 2 minutes away if you b line for it or 5 if you hit the little icy cave and 2 tents parked outside it. THEN what i did is glided from its spawn point to the modern axe. Made life super easy. I also think the best base location is the little pond/stream just a directly above from the modern axe due north. The little meadow area. Building right on the edge of that pond is great because it doesn't freeze during winter. It's one less defensive wall to build, one entire side you don't have to worry about defending, and a constant source of water all year round. And the spot is beautiful which was my number 1 priority when searching for a spot to build and it just so happened to be great defensively lol. Before i came across that spot i planned on building against the edge of a cliff like old school castles used to do (less sides to defend)
No offense to this guy but if your a begginer on your first playthrough i would recommend exploring on your own testing things out and having fun instead of following tutorials
Lol i spent a few tense nights baiting the hulking cannibals that like to Spartan kick into the single fly swatter i set up cuz i couldn't survive real combat with them at that time. Very good and cheap trap lol
why use the glitches wall in hole to reload traps, chair for teleport, why then not just use console and turn on god mode, so you don't need to waste time for most of the stuff?

Just curious why you wouldnt take the forest spawn over mountain. It literally spawns you right at where you want to build?

@@04AMofficial To make it even better there is also a can opener in the cave just by the mountain spawn.

I made a guide on how to deal with all sorts of Cannibals earlier with the release!
Wait.. you can use wood walls and stone pillars?.. I currently have a build going where I can't use log pillars with a stone wall.. am I dumb?

On the spawn u forgot to mention how close it is to the can opener

Good is to use a hang Glider to get instant to the pistol in the water. From there head to modern axe and build somewhere

I spent several days on my own to have the joy of impression! I get your point!
Didn't know the fly swatter trap was op. Ill have to set up a few more.

In the winter it will not protect you against cold.
I just went past the winter and it was totally fine on Hard- my upgrades to it are coming up later today!
