  • David Marsh, 12-time National Champion as head coach of the Auburn University swim program, uses an Endless Pool Elite for training at SwimMAC Carolina, where he is the CEO and Director of Swimming. Having coached 24 Olympians over his career, Marsh has been a proponent of the Endless Pool for providing instant feedback and focused technique analysis for over 10 years.
In this video, the coach works on Freestyle technique drills, showing how quickly and efficiently he is able to provide real-time evaluation to his swimmers. Marsh challenges his swimmer to adjust her recovery from side-to-side to over the top. Slowing down the swim current, he is able to have her focus intently on improving, from recovery to catch to pull.

There's only one Dave Marsh, of course, but there are other swim coaches who get great results using their Endless Pools to fine-tune strokes. You can check out a list of our commercial customers to see if there's one near you: www.endlesspools.com/commercial-pools-customers.php

I’ve got to take issue with bringing it over the top. When she’s first swimming not lifting her arms so high she’s more efficient. Lifting your arms over your head like that since your body farther down in the water and is a loss of effort. Bottom line she’s using less energy and no more water resistance with her own initial technique. I learned my swimming from Eddie Boorsma, who had a clean unhurried styled that gave him maximum efficiency in the water

Endless pool moves water forcefully, which leads to swimmers often going wider to maaintain balance. Also, taking recovery over the top is not healthy for shoulders.
