- Johnny Bananas is in Austin, TX for an inside look at a city filled with food, wildlife, and an ever-growing art scene. First, Johnny is joined by WWE’s Mike “The Miz” Mizanin at the Austin Farm Sanctuary to lend a helping hand, then, dives into the food and culture of Austin at the family-run Guero’s Taco Bar. Johnny channels his inner rapper with comedy rap duo Vanilla Pressley by competing in a rap battle at Austin’s Fallout Theater. Finally, Johnny fumbles his way through bodyguard training at the Texas Certified Training Academy.

Following up the rescue cow segment with closeups of beef on a spit and tacos was an odd choice js.
Oof... of all the things to do in Austin, the producers pick a goat farm, a taco joint, a hole in the wall comedy club, and security training?? It’s almost as if they had a magic 8 ball that made the choices for them...
I for sure thought they'd go bar hopping on 6th St. Also expected them to go to the State Capital.

Glenn Jones... On one hand, you ask what could he have done that he hasn’t done before, and then the very next comment, you ask why would he choose the Capitol since he’s never done that before in any other state...? Make up your mind.
My comment wasn’t negative. You’re implying that it does says more about your triggered self than anything. My comment was merely about how random the episode was. Let’s not forget this show is about introducing people that have never been to Austin to what makes Austin what it is. Do you know about the Capital, 6th Street, Zilker, Town Lake, Formula One, SXSW, ACL, South Congress, etc. to name a few? I’m sure, but there might be someone that doesn’t. Do you feel picking up cow shit reflected the best of Austin? How about that security training? What in any way does that have to do with Austin?
Heaven forbid I have an OPINION (which I’m allowed to have whether or not I “paid” anything for the show). The stuff that was highlighted was random as hell and didn’t highlight what makes Austin Austin. I hope I didn’t just trigger you...
I’ll always be Team Bananas. I’m glad he got to hang out with the Miz. Maybe he should have had the Miz give him a tour of Austin throughout the whole episode? Their antics alone would have been great for the show. Imagine how funny it would have been to see them running up and down 6th, or Esther’s Follies, or South Congress.
