- At the land’s end of Cape Cod, Johnny Bananas discovers Provincetown, Massachusetts, a place that proudly embraces all and has become the summer pilgrimage for queer and straight communities alike. Commercial Street, the main thoroughfare in town, comes equipped with drag queens, bars, bites, galleries, shops, fantastic spots to eat, congregate and just parade. Rest your head at the historic Pilgrim House Inn, which dates back to 1810, and stay for the incredible drag performances in their legendary showroom. Stroll west to the Boatslip where a daily dose of their legendary afternoon tea dance awaits you and finish up the night with the obligatory slice at Spiritus Pizza, where the party plays out well into the night. Get out of the hustle and bustle of town by taking a day trip to the enormous coastal sand dunes with Art’s Dune Tours and finish up your stay with an exploration of PAAM, the Provincetown Art Association Museum, which celebrates Ptown’s place as the oldest art community in the United States.

9:46 It’s not untouched at all. It was forest when the pilgrims arrived, over time we settlers chopped down the trees and sand took over. In the 80’s-90’s the National Seashore planted zillions of beachgrass to try to arrest the migration of the sand dunes and, over time, re-establish other plant growth. The dunes today look nothing like when I was a kid in the 70’s.

Provincetown reminds me of Fire Island in New York where I go to every summer for a visit at the beach with hot guys in Speedos while I relax in my Speedo I wear to the beach in Fire Island. Johnny, where did you get that banana like outfit from? I have to know! I want one online!
