What are those two flue pipes that come out of the roaster all about? 🤔

Every coffee roasting machine will have a flue system that exhausts both hot and cold air to the environment outside. We call these our "hot stack" and "cold stack".
The Loring hot stack houses the system burner and acts as a centrifugal chaff collector too. Hot air produced by the combustion of propane gas is pulled through the bean mass and back out the stack and vented through our roof.
The cold stack exhausts cool air that gets dragged through the roasted beans as they exit the roast drum after its roast cycle. Cool air will reduce the temperature of the beans and stop them from roasting further. This air is vented through the roof just as the hot stack does.
