This arc surprised me at the time, I didn't know what to expect coming off of meggys destiny concluding her splatfest character arc (really enjoyed it though had flaws mainly with killer ink, but I digress)
Anyway, starting off with marios spicy day, bringing back smg3 after a while and giving him his own voice for the first time was epic, and it culminates in him having a moment to explain his motives and see a different moral side to him (and to be fair smg4 did wreck his set which probably didn't help), I sensed from that point that an arc was coming and smg3 would be involved, but not not how it would play out. From there the youtube remote episodes just kind of happened and the internet graveyard episode was great, but I was mind blown at the end of Mario vs youtube when smg3 reveals the plan to erase smg4 and all the plot lines converge, I remember wondering for the week until the next episode how smg3 would do it, and realizing he would rewrite smg4s youtube history to change the past really set the stakes high. Plus it was a great homage to each characters debut and ti older smg4 videos in general, edodcyakkt how they seamlessly recreated the feel of account loss.
With that said, there are a few flaws imo.
Firstly axols character was kind of ruined when he was sent to the internet graveyard and his own broke. He kind of redeemed himself in 2021 only to be killed off. Though his relationship with melony is wholesome and a good send off pay off to the genesis arc, but I feel he should have had more development with melony before his untimely death and meggy should have been more affected by his death as he helped her in the splafrst movie.
Second point is the deleted episode itself makes little sense when thinking into it too much, like if the cast are prevented from meeting Mario he should technically forget who they are in the present and smg4 getting deleted should automatically delete everyone else anyway because he is responsible for their existence. The genesis arc proves this further because Mario was normal before smg4 arrived in his guardian pod and Wouldn't have gone to meet the cast characters if he hadn't been zapped by the guardian pod (which wouldn't have happened with smg4 himself getting deleted), then agai genesis wasn't planned st the time so I guess it was ret conned. Plus the recent lawsuit arc kind of retconned genesis and revelations arcs (smg4 cosmology in general), anyway. But I digress
Other than that. I agree they should have delayed showing the smg4 cast safe in the graveyard for an episode to reinforce their absence and explore marios efforts to find them, maybe showing him in more despair and fear of not being able to. Perhaps have him do what the cast were trying to do in the deleted episode and have him try to re meet/re introduce the characters past selves, or have them still present in the normal world in some form but not know or recognize Mario, causing him to have to jog their memory or recreate events or something.
Regardless, the arc pays off with wotfi 2020, with meggy getting her new voice, and smg3 being defeated until his return in the genesis arc

They should've had the main cast removed, and in place of a totally normal smg4 episode have Mario getting some other friends like bower, axol, steve ect come and help and they do Wotfi challenges, then once they get the remote back at the end that's when the cast returns.

This is my third favorite arc(Rapper Bob Arc is the funniest arc imo, and the Waluigi Arc is still my favorite arc since no other arc has dethroned it), but my biggest gripe is THAT STUPID INTERNET GRAVEYARD TWIST!!!!!! I knew that the cast was alive, but even I was pissed off. I mean, we could've had a cool 2-3 part episode where Mario is in an alternate dimension where his friends has never met him and SMG3 rules the entire kingdom(I got that idea from a comment on Dr Awe's Anime Arc Part 2 Review). Maybe we can have Francis as a good guy. Maybe we can have Meggy still as an inkling. Maybe we can have SMG4 as a hobo. Maybe we can have Peach simping for Bowser while Bowser doesn't love Peach. The possibilities are endless. But nope, they have to use that dumb internet graveyard twist, and it makes SMG3 look less intimidating because he didn't actually kill the characters. It reminds me of Sonic Boom and Sonic Forces where the game makes it look like that Sonic died only to lazily reveal that he's perfectly fine. Speaking of Sonic, it's quite baffling that Sonic 06 at least kills off Sonic and has him dead, which may be temporary death, but at least it's death, unlike that bullshit plot twist in the TH-cam Arc. Heck, even Family Guy kept Vinnie for more than 1 episode. The TH-cam Arc isn't as good as the Rapper Bob Arc or Waluigi Arc, but I personally think it's much better than the Genesis Arc and the Anime Arc.
I’m halfway into this video, and I stopped at where you were talking about Melony, I’m starting to think I was being to harsh on the genesis arc for being more serious, do you think I should give it another try ?
Go for it! Sometimes a rewatch can really change your perspective!

i'm really glad smg3 has become a more prominent characrer in arcs, he kinda fits the role that desti would've filled in a way, being a more brash frenemy to smg4

I thought it was just an ok arc retrospectively, the only episode I dislike in that arc was I Can’t Believe It’s Not SMG4.

I didn't think this was a bad Arc I actually like human Meggy voice actor I think the only reason they gave her a voice actor was for her show I still like the voice but I do think it kind of takes away from Meggy having a little bit of Inkling still inside of her also to be honest I don't like Melanie I feel like if they spend more time with her hacking ability and many other things I probably like her more but for the most part good video
Do you mean *Melony? If you do, same reasons for me. They focus to much on some of the main characters in the main cast, leavings og's behind, like X, FM and all the other multicoloured Mario clones. Even X and FM, aren't even in the main cast now, because of new cast members taking their role. For me anyways, I started watching smg4 in late 2018 or early 2019 so yeah!

Really solid didn’t know this was out yet although I think this arc kinda has a meh ending I agree with how the tension just get derailed when everybody was just shown
To be alive also I think this arc like the genesis and god box arc was to long yes I consider them in the same arc because they have the same lore

Great video, but I think you missed two negative points, like:
Why the anti-cast didn't get repercussions for delete SMG4 and his friends?
And SMG3 got what he deserves but it wasn't 100% satisfactory, because it would be better if SMG4 apologized for destroying his studio.
With this I'm not saying that he had to forgive him, but I feel that they treated SMG3 like trash and the end.
Well and after this arc SMG3 acts like nothing happened, that is very ridiculous.
The rest of the video is Ok.
To me, SMG4's apology in the first episode seemed to imply he was sorry for destroying the studio; and even if it didn't, SMG3 refused to accept the apology he was given anyways, so there wouldn't really be a point.
The Anti-Cast were only SMG3's pawns, and they turned on him in the end anyways, so I'd say they don't really need repercussions.
My guess is that SMG3 stopped caring so much about what happened after he took over the Internet Graveyard. He finally got the popularity/respect he wanted, so why hold onto bitterness?
@@Tiquono 1.Is true that he would refused I mention the apology because it would shown that SMG4 cares about the SMG3 situation.
2. When I referred to repercussions I mean that Meggy, Tari, Saiko act like nothing happened they should be a little mad or at least uncomfortable with them, overall because the anti-cast (except jub jub) deleted them without any problem.
3.Because SMG3 got good things, is not excuse to act like nothing happened or the things that SMG4 did to him. I would be more realistic if SMG4 at least apologize with him and then he started to be a nice guy.
1. I think the fact SMG4 apologized at all showed that he cared about the situation, even if it wasn't explicitly stated that way.
2. Again, the Anti-Cast turned on SMG3 in the end. They were being used and mistreated by SMG3. They're not the bad guys, SMG3 is. Heck, Meggy's rap section says it clearly: "Guys, please stop fighting. There's only one true foe using you to grow. It's SMG3!"
3. This might just be a suspension of disbelief situation, but to me it seems like SMG3 would absolutely be petty enough to drop the whole thing after getting the popularity he wanted. Or maybe after studying the meme life cycle for a year after the TH-cam Arc, he realized how important SMG4 is to the meme life cycle, and had a change of heart. Either way, I don't find it unreasonable that SMG3 decided to let it go after a year.

2. I know that they weren't the bad guys, but they didn't have any problems to delete them, even after that they didn't care of his actions against the main cast.
And for people who didn't care of the main cast, that turned against SMG3 just because of the mistreated, doesn't apply to be fine or be forgotten near them.
(If just they shown any care, like jub jub did, I would believe that they need a second chance, but is not the case)
3. Is true that SMG3 learn all that and he dropped the idea of killing him, but again, without any hard feeling against SMG4? For me is nonsense... And a bad excuse to give a rival(friend) to SMG4.

I honestly feel the complete opposite towards Melony. In this arc I don't think she was too bad but further on down the line I think she just kind of took away more attention from the other characters than necessary
Literally the wiki called Melony and Zero "arch-nemeses" when that title should be a better fit for SMG4 himself after SMG3's poor redemption
The wiki and tv tropes also said that Fracnis is Meggys "arch nemesis", which is weird to me. He only killed some random rival to her and didn't have much of a presence to her. It isn't like Mario Vs Bowser, Sonic Vs Eggman, Kirby Vs King Dedede, Samus Vs Ridley, Cloud Vs Sephiroth, Optimus Prime Vs Megatron, Goku Vs Frieza, Batman Vs The Joker, Spiderman Vs Green Goblin, Superman Vs Lex Luthor, Fantastic 4 Vs Doctor Doom, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vs The Shredder, Perry Vs Doofenshmirtz, Krabs Vs Plankton, Timmy's Dad Vs Dinkleberg, and other hero vs villain rivalries where they fought for a long time. Francis was just some guy who kidnapped her and killed her rival.
SMG3 had a better redemption than Desti.
The youtube arc was my favorite arc the waluigi arc was good too bob rapper arc was also good and every other arc sucked after the anti cast got interviewed (well i liked only 2 of them) i normally dont like new characters but i was so excited to see rob and belle appear in more vids but they were sadly forgotten over a few months they still luckily made some appearances its that i wasnt happy that i found out they were underused and unfairly kicked off like toad :(
And THIS VIDEO HERE, is the reason why Pixarfan 8695 is better!
This is just out of curiosity, but will you make a video about the smg4 genesis arc?
If I do, there's only really one thing I feel is worth talking in depth about, but I think it's one of the best arcs!
