Very informative. LOVE your personality / attitude and your banter with model and the ‘audience’. Realistic approach to budget using Godoy and Glow brands.
i did the same thing but while i thought about getting the 200s, i would have needed some S brackets but flashox/gopoint (lol) have a 300ws triple set up that was about the price of 1 200 and the S brackets and came with stands (im ocd so matching stands is a big thing to me) and a nice carry case. i did the same triangle, with the modeling lights on (for my 'constant light' for small pupils). the only bad thing is that theyre corded. i have a fp 400 evolv that i used for a single background light. it all worked pretty good for about a dozen headshots i did as some tfp for a local museum staff. it was also the first time i shot tethered. i had only 2 copies though because i was on location lol. i got the glow ez up/ez pop in 12x36 strip lights i LOVE your studio. the equipment cage is amazing. i have the same tripod and just got a new ball head for it. great video!
This guy is very mischievous. He is presenting this post with the simplicity as a joke would but if you take him serious enough, you learn a lot. Brilliant. by the way, Naomi is awesome .
I am doubting to buy the eyelighter reflector 3 or the curved softbox glow. Would the reflector really ve annoying in terms on not being able to adjust the strength?
I was thinking the same. There is something about the triangle catch lights that really put me off. But, it's a style and everyone does things slightly differently.
Great Video.. 1 - what size were your soft box rectangles? I couldn't hear it. And, I have 2 AD400's and an AD300 wondering if you'd use the AD300 for the bottom eyelighter and the AD400's as your main lights. And lastly, I don't have any other lights, how would you make your background white without the top 2 lights. Thanks
Great video and explanation. I use your previous setup with the eyelighter and softbox directly above the eyelighter and one light for the background. Its a great setup and quick and easy for me to set up. But i am always up to try different methods.
Hurley is a marketing machine; good on him. I admit the setup is quick, fool-proof (I've used it) and an effective fashion tool. I also don't like ring-light reflections in pupils. Just my view. @@fredriksvard2603
Most studio strobes have what’s called a modeling light. These are low power continuous lights that you can have on to get a visual of what the flash will do.
Yes, actually. We just discovered this recently and. We have not pinpointed what causes it or how to fix it but we’ve put the camera to use pc remote automatically and that seemed to fix it. Cannot 100 percent say it’s a permanent fix.
You are the first guy that explains how to use a color checker in an easy way. Thank you!

We're constantly discussing the switch to 300s but we're so set up with 600s we're not sure if it's the move anymore.
We appreciate you checking it out. Let us know what you'd like to see or any questions we can answer!

Educative video it is, thank you.

I prefer a simple set up. One softbox above and a reflector below. I don't like a triangle reflection though
I was thinking the same. There is something about the triangle catch lights that really put me off. But, it's a style and everyone does things slightly differently.
Could you please add the model of each of the light modifiers?
Great video!
Why do you shoot headshots horizontally opposed to vertically?
We only shoot horizontaly as we find we prefer the shoulders not being cut off.

Just make the background white in photoshop
😯 I had no idea of the white balance color thing
Wow nice gears bro.👏👏

Don't have capture one, just a light meter, does that work here?
What do your clients say about the triangular catchlight? Love the coverage and ease of use.. can't get past the pupils.
if you yourself don't like the catchlights then don't use that particular lighting setup lol. Easy.
@@jasonbodden8816 I don’t.
Probably ok since Hurley made it a standard

Dirty orange color from the Sony's.
You certainly need a ColorChecker to get right tones.
Can you explain that white balance part again? Not sure what you clicked on to get 160 exposure?
That’s my idol right there
Hahahah. That’s mutual!
Very helpful 👌
Is that the 48" Glow ARC curved softbox or the 61"?
Peter hourly was present
Very helpful ✌
What aperture do you shoot at ?
what was your distance or focal length used? I noticed you could see most of her in your camera's LCD screen.
We usually shoot around 135mm at about 8-10' away
I would like to know the two Rectangle front Strip light sizes,
they look larger than the 12x36 are they the 16x48 or 12x56
16x48
Go to 7:36 in the video and pause to see
Newbie question here--- so are those lights continuously on before they flash? I'm not familiar with all the lighting world.

not sure those are c stands - but your video is proper
Can this be shoot with strobes?
Sure can. Any lighting setup can be done with either continuous light or strobes.
And if I use 3 1x3 soft boxes I move subject closer to soft boxes?
What size was the eye lighter soft box?
Simple, effective explanation, good job, thanks!
Do you guys run into any connectivity issues with C1? - Happens to me when the camera goes idle.

+1 for glow
I think those triangular catch-lights look awful - sorry. :(
can you put anymore lights
Don't mean to a be a downer, but this was is wayyyy too long. for nothing.Don't need to see the outtakes, I just want to learn. Thanks
Good content, but way too long. No one wants to sit around seeing you joke about needing a transmitter or needing to turn the camera on.
You need coffee
@@rixtervidzAlways, always.
Agree. No way did this need to be an 18 minute video.
