Appreciate how you simplified the entire setup and your explanations for everything from the white background, lighting the background, height of the lights, etc. Thank you.
Neat, I love Your Video's, I love Photogrpahy,, I am in My 80's limited Mobility, love to learn, and frankly don't know what to Hell I a doing bu Your Video are very knowledgable, and a Hell of a lot of fun to watch!!
Thanks Peter. That was definitely entertaining to see how you adjust your background brightness. I adjust mine like an amateur, with a trigger in one hand and a meter in the other. I can see that your method is much better exercise. 😎
Glad I watched this. I recently watched a two part series by photographer Joanna Kustra and she showed how she takes a great grey background like you just shot with and then in post, she can easily change it to any color to get maximum impact with her model's hair color.
Hey Peter, GREAT video, so many pearls. Problem is, I can't find that Wescott HurleyPro White matte board ANYWHERE. Do you have a source or have an alternative solution? Thanks in advance!!
We discontinued it! You could ask someone in the Headshot Crew if they are willing to sell it or come by my studio in NYC and I'm sure I have an extra one. Be happy to give it to you.
Peter, I have spent countless hours in post creating a pure white. I swear, your video has given me a pure white bg, finally! Although since it’s clothing, I’m getting some of that light onto the clothes. Any tips to fix that? Setup is same as yours, without the V boards and I also have a 85 cm umbrella but not using that currently.
@@peter_hurley But you showed such a good setup? How do I simply stop the light from the strobes from spilling onto the subject? (In my case, clothing)
You might want to try it without flip flops next time!?😂 You’re going to fall and crack your skull open. Appreciate what you do. I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos. Thank you.
my wife loves me completely and unconditionally. she says im ridiculous and i often act very similar to what youre doing with the running and flip-flop flopping and acting silly. ive never met you but you seem pretty genuine in your actions and so when i say youre being ridiculous, understand that im saying youre one cool cat! ive done this similarly with my white backdrop and speedlites with flags. i even did the self-timer thing 2 weeks ago. big difference in results with the 'kicking the tripod' though. i was doing it barefoot and broke my toe! i didnt quite get into the shot on that one... i love this. got to figure a way to get people to come do this for TfP or for free or somehow get them to come and PAY me to do it... EDIT: i went to both B&H and Adorama and the Hurley Pro Wescott Proboard in Matte White is NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!!! arrgh. what happened?
Yo can also just stand the person beside the light and set it to his/her shoulder height and ditch the tape measure LOL After that just have them move to the proper location for the shot

I will have update my profile picture in January. Thanks for the refresher course on white background. Wish you great success next year.
That's a super hyped selfie. Peter you're that man!!!
Once a model, always a model. I'm envious that you can just jump right into frame and - boom! - produce a perfect pose every time.
I'm rusty!
Your run to the backdrop cracks me up, Peter. Great tutorial. I need to practice my white backgrounds.
Good refresher course. Thanks for the class.
Hey Pete.. You crack me up with your running in those flip flops.. Skip like a butterfly... 😂😂😂😂😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽👍🏽

You are way to Funny thanks 😂 loving it
I lost it when I heard the Police Academy music. My favorite White Background video I've seen so far!
Amazing video as always. Wanting to work more with white backdrop!
Nicely done, thank you. Nice and light humour, but informative.
You are too funny! Love your work!
You are the greatest..
Great video Peter but in the video one can't see the exact position of the light(s) and v-flats. Can you explain? Thanks
This one - although great content-wise - was hard to follow because of the music.
Always inspiring ❤

@@peter_hurley You are da bomb diggety!! I'll contact you next time we are in the city and if you still have it, I may just take you up on that offer!
How have I not ever found your channel before? great info. May I suggest a remote shutter lol or maybe that’s how you keep your exercise up.
Where do I find those numbers (247-250) in Lightroom?

You've got to just use the Ai background feature in Capture One these days. Or Evoto. Those are my two software choices for nailing it.

@@luumpia93 Depends on the room you are shooting in. V-Flats or grids I'd say.
@@peter_hurley Okay, Peter. Thanks so much. Glad your video came in my search. :)
Are your constant lights in your traditional triangle positions out in front?
Even the creators of the background music didn’t intend for it to be played ad nauseam.
How do You make a Background like this Black!!
Your face looks so bright, what camera settings did you use?
Is there an alternative if you don’t have V-flats?
I order some 5x6 foot backgrounds with black and white sides, should serve the same purpose but less bulky
You’re my Spirit Animal! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

And what do u mean bu 247 250 etc
It’s the RGB colours
Instead of using tape measure to adjust the light to your shoulder, just adjust the light to your shoulder. It doesn’t make sense…

Using flashmeter gives you a faster result
Well now it's all about Capture one, so no need to fuss. 240 on luminosity and shabang!
Music is too loud! It is distracting and not necessary.
It’s actually not
good info but too noisy.
