      @SaltwaterAngler I will do no problem 😊 👌. I always enjoyed " spinning " in river's in North Wales as a kid ( trout mainly) and looking forward to getting out soon on the lures. 👍. Take care and god bless 🙌

    Nice one Matt. It's helpful to have an array of lures to 'match the hatch', as the non-saline fly boys like to say. Every day may bring a change and what worked yesterday is suddenly off the menu. It can be very frustrating, but that is what makes the bass a testing quarry.

    Nice catch. You know I’ve had a prawn sat in my box for ages, might give it a try soon. I’ve got some very small rattles too. Why not - they eat almost anything when it’s warm enough for them don’t they. Thanks Matt keep ‘em coming. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Thats weird. I had, the, same, thought the other day after jigging for, carp and, f1s.
    Using small sprats and, just jigging them or a artificial prawn. Great video mate

    Fishing in South West Kerry at the moment… on hols with my wife … not a lot happening fishing wise … a few schoolies and a sea trout in the lures … heading out now to fish the estuary on the flood … hopefully will hook up on a bar of silver!!!

    Great idea them prawns and a really interesting video showing the techniques. I know a venue where live floated prawn does well but very hard to get hold of, these look like they may well do the job. Which size/weight did you use? Well done on the fish, I had one a very similar size recently, no scales but I did get a measure. No net either which made landing tricky, nearly fell over twice, luckily the sea was flooding fast and I managed to land it on a wave over boulders to safety. Not on a prawn though but Hound Glide.

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds great, you could always use the weight to length calculator provided by the Bass anglers sportsfish society quite accurate

      Hi again Matt, do you know of any cheap or cheapish robust lure rods? I've managed to snap 2x tips in a little over a month. I fished on with a broken rod last night and ended up with 5 up to 69cm. Hair raising stuff trying to play a decent fish with 1ft of the rod missing that resembles a boat rod 😂 I'm thinking of something under £50 due to the abuse it will endure as I'm a clumsy git on the rocks. Also what footwear do you use on the rocks?

    Have you ever fished Samphire Hoe? Beach to fish off, west end, big rocks and clear ground between. Ive seen massive shoals of mackerel. I've caught Wrasse, Pollack & Mackerel. Not caught a Bass yet on lure at this location.
    Great video!

    There must be some parts of a lure where putting a rattle is more effective than others. For example the stiff central body section is less likely to vibrate than the tail of a paddletail style lure. I watch a lot of people insert rattles quite far forward on a lure and I wonder just how much it actually rattles underwater.

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep I’ve been thinking about that a lot this week.I suppose it rattles less but the sound travels better or at least a bass can pick up on slightest vibration. Also above the lure on the lure clip maybe.lots of fun experimenting to be done.Some great thoughts there George

    Hi really interesting video. Can i ask at 9:54 in the video. That looks like my beach down the cliff and 10:08 is the secret pathway at the top of the cliff? I won't say the location, But does it begin with a F? Nice fish well done.

    • @SaltwaterAngler

      It's funny isn't it. Just a very brief glimpse and I recognised it straight away lol.
      It's been slow down there recently.
      Do you think the growing population of seals might have something to do with it?

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100 percent - there were 90 in spring ! Plus the pups are so close to shore

      @@SaltwaterAngler Its such a shame. I love how convenient it is for me to just climb down there and fish. But i have seen how hard the fishing has got. I am going to do more lure fishing at night i think and see if that helps.
