  • This is a Motormouth couple car video looking at the all-new 2025 Toyota Crown Signia SUV. We are in LA with Toyota for two special unveilings, we’ll start with the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia SUV! What do you think of the design?
    The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia is assembled in Japan and uses the same platform that underpins the Crown sedan. It will be hitting dealerships next summer.
    This 2025 Toyota Crown Signia certainly has a Lexus vibe to it, Toyota really focused on giving this SUV a more upscale look. In the US, there are two trims available but in Canada only one and it’s the top Limited trim which you see in the photos. The saddle tan leather trimmed seats with double stitching, quilting, and piping with a bronze finished trim on the dash gives it a more luxury feel. In the US, cloth and Softex seats are standard but the top trim adds leather. Tan or black interior colours are available.
    The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia comes standard with dual 12.3” screens, a touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android and a digital driver display.
    Toyota says their engineers spent many hours studying and engineering reductions in noise, vibration and harshness for this SUV. Noise minimizing materials include acoustic glass on the front side windows, a dash silencer and an engine cover made of acoustic absorbing materials. Toyota also focused on the seats and the comfort level with moderate bolsters that cradle the front seat passengers.
    There is just one powertrain option and it’s a hybrid. A 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors, it’s matched to an eCVT and has a combined 243 horsepower, standard AWD.
    The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia AWD system has a dedicated rear electric motor to deliver extra traction when needed and it can tow up to 2700 pounds. The manufacturers estimated fuel economy is 6.5L/100 km, 36 MPG combined.
    Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.

    Team Motormouth, Please don't forget about the patched, potholed and cratered roads in the rest of Canada when you are praising the 21" rims which are mandatory up here. Why wagon-loving Canada gets just the top spec Crown Signia Premium when the wagon-phobic USA gets a more affordable XLE is beyond me. Please ask Stephen Beatty why the country that had an extra year of the original Venza gets fewer options when it returns. 🤔🤨

    Very nice preview A&Z. The interior is clearly a step up from the Venza, which just got killed for '25. Same power output as the current Highlander hybrid. Front end looks quite nice bit I still do not like that Lexus lattice. Other design elements are very tasteful. Volume knob is nice (why do we even have to mention this?). Don't like the toggles for temp control, though. Unless they have been dramatically improved, they are so S L O W and tedious; just put 2 small wheels like everyone else. Predict a 5K bump over the Venza LTD - so 55-56K in Candaa.

    Another great review guys! A great replacement for the Venza…better design, comparable luxury, more space, fuel efficient hybrid. The big question is the price - it has to come in below the NX350h to protect the Lexus premium, the also below the legacy Highlander Hybrid? Your best guess?

    I think this looks great - just watched the Forester reveal (I’m a Subaru guy) and am disappointed with the lack of development on the Subaru engine side of things - another 18 months or so for a hybrid option. Assume the 2026 Outback will also go hybrid so will have to see. This looks like a good alternative to the Outback for me but a little concerned about the 21” rims. Do you know what size the 21” tires are? Wondering how much sidewall is available and how will that impact the ride of some of our rougher Canadian roads?

      @@PS-js9oh I think they found that it could take away from Lexus SUV sales as the car care nut review said it was a hidden gem and almost Lexus like quality . The Crown line of vehicles has been around in Japan for number of years but to sell this type of new SUV under Toyota name plate and with no spare tire option as of yet will not attract a lot of buyers.

    • @brianwhitney9181
      @brianwhitney9181 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Venza is made in Japan unlike the first generation made stateside and not a hybrid. It was gas only. The waiting time for the hybrid was extremely long 8 months or more so I wonder if Toyota just throw in the towel on this SUV as frustrated customers gave up on the brand and went elsewhere. The Crown model should be interesting to see price point and availability as Toyota is struggling with parts for even the Lexus brand. Also the Signia will be built in Japan and if you could not get the Venza within a reasonable time then it should be interesting how Toyota will pitch a waiting time for this one. Update, the 2024 Venza will still be available for the remaining model year but once the cutoff date for ordering it ends that's it.

    Not bad! Don’t quite agree it has Lexus vibes though. Still looks a tad industrial. But makes sense for Toyota to make it a proper midsize 2 row suv. That’s where the Venza suffered. It was just a sleeker rav4 for more money, yet more space compromised, so it didn’t sell well. I wonder though if this puts the regular Highlander under threat? For more room, without needing 3 rows buy this, and if you really need three rows, but the Grand Highlander! Won’t be surprised if the regular Highlander gets canned for maybe 2025 or 2026.

    Toyota should make a three-row version of this with all that space in the back. It would sell extremely well in the cities and suburbs. The Kia Sorrento Hybrid at 189" is selling like crazy because it gives families (with two kids) a usable third row for neighbor's kids in a package that you can easily drive in the city. Toyota, Honda, and Mazda simply do not have a direct competitor that is the same size as the Sorrento. The Highlander is 195" and those extra six inches make a big difference in parkability (word?) and ease of driving in the city. Honda and Mazda's 3-row models are even larger.

    Hey Guys nice presentation and Thank You, I like size but on the back I would like to see a third seat but facing to the back and more chrome on the front and back. The interior is beautiful, and I will say Japan is watching Motormouth, great day Guys.

    My dad had Softex interior in his 1972 Opel GT, but back then it was called VINYL !!!
    Vinyl is a petroleum based product, so YES it’s worse in releasing dangerous chemicals into our atmosphere. Go Green !

    Aside from the front design🤢, this Crown Signia looks absolutely amazing inside and the sides/rear! My one other complaint is it’s very sloped in the rear cargo area, it would’ve been better if it was a slightly boxier design. Everything is in MY opinion.

    I know that a V-6 is a moot point. However, we once owned a Camry V-6. It was a smooth driving car. My wife loved it. She actually misses driving the Camry V-6 even though we now own an MDX. The world is "a changen". Hang on.

      The AWD Camry Hybrid is not too far of the power numbers of the Camry V6 and will offer better traction in bad weather. It will do all this while doubling the gas mileage around town.

    Hi again folks! Can you please explain the difference between a CVT and a eCVT transmission? Still the 1st channel to play before watching any other. 5 thumbs up!

    • @dimdim3490
      @dimdim3490 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      CVT has a steel belt for transferring torque and no gears, but eCVT should not even be called CVT because mechanically it is more like a differential, that is it has no belt but has actual gears and therefore very reliable. The reason Toyota calls it eCVT is because although it has gears the torque transfer is smooth, i.e. no steps. I have heard that Toyota is moving away from calling it eCVT due to all the negative implications.

    Yay, my Venza becomes a limited edition in the US as they were pretty much unobtainium anyway. And Zach, test headroom with the moonroof slide closed for a true representation. Also, as a person who often can find where the headroom shortage is, try the passenger seat in models that don’t have a seat height adjustment, like most XLE Toyota trims.
