Only issue is some games require you to use the D-Pad for movement (WCW/NwO Revenge and WWF No Mercy to name 2)
That would be something that I would be interested in having. If I ever find one for a good price I may consider getting one.

Some people don't like the original N64 controller or the Gamecube controller. I would really love to get one of these.

it was probably made at the end of its lifespan/at the start of the gamecube lifespan
good review, bit to small for my hands though!
I like this controller a lot. If you are used to say a Dreamcast controller you will be fine. I also have big hands and don't mind it at all. Just hate the claustrophobic feel of the N64 controller. Would be perfect if a tad wider but its just fine and can get used to it like the DC. The quality is awesome!

Bought one on eBay, the analog doesn't work right at all. Often it registers movement without touching the analog and holding up registers as up+left. Sadness.
damn if i was an N64 fan i would def get those! im a huge fan of 3rd party controller collecting, i think it gets a bad rap and i think theres tons of controllers out there that people dont realize are BETTER than the originals

I bought a used one on Ebay for $75 from Japan and I love it! Yes it's expensive, but that controller will last for life, unlike the original N64 controller and it's fragile analog stick.
I decided to get one recently, because they're becoming more and more rare and expensive all the time! Someday you won't be able to find a working original N64 controller and the only controllers that don't suck and will survive time is the Hori!
Get'em while you still can.... and for under $100. :)

they don't. The sticks are like the GC ones, and if you already know, the GC ones are very durable.
Not willing to pay for a controller that's over $60 for N64 let alone the GC because their controllers weren't that much back then. I do understand value goes up over time though.

Regular N64 Controllers' Analogue Sticks damage your hand, but these controllers? They have a rubber bezel and are comfortable! That's why this controller comes in handy for Mario Party Minigames like Tug-of-War and Paddle Battle.

I never understood the N64 controller hate. In my opinion it feels better than the Playstation controller..
I think ascii came way before. .And why its so hard to put that Z button on the back, even in the nowadays controlers, damn you double shoulder buttons.

sure I agree the original controller is pretty silly, but 100-200$? Not worth it sorry, if you hate the controller that badly get yourself a gamecube adapter. Personally I don't mind the n64 controller once you fix the joystick issue.

Neat controller. Way overpriced totally not worth it. Considering there are 3rd party redesigned joystick replacements which do not wear out and Gamecube to N64 Adapters so you can rock out with a wavebird on your n64.
