Very helpful information. I’ve been in the security industry 25 years. I ventured out to start my own security company about 5.5 years ago. Insurance has been one of my biggest frustrations. My target customer base is low risk, I avoid anything I deem high risk. We’re the absolute definition of “observe and report” and we’re 100% unarmed. I’ve had zero claims yet premiums have increased year over year. It’s renewal time and my premium increased 10% for the upcoming year.
Wow just want to say thank you sir for bringing this content to us I just started my security company and this is the information that I was looking for so I just want to say thank you that God is very knowledgeable and this information is going to help move my business ahead instead of hindering me so thank you
That really depends on your location. In some states you have to have your license before you can start searching for contracts which means you need your insurance first. So it just depends...
Trying to find standard cost in state of Florida for unarmed security with about 8-10 guards. Anybody know ball park how much down and how much monthly?
How about licensing in the state of Illinois Can you do how to start up video titled with specific states And compare and contrast the difference between each states
Wow, you're just going to delete my earlier comment because I didn't agree with your boy Fred? Thats some superficial stuff. UNSUSCRIBED!! I just received a RIDICULOUS quote from them btw. I just wanted to perform side jobs while still keeping my full-time day security position. I cannot use my DCJS license for self-employed work without having my own LLC & General Liability insurance. I only wanted to work 2 Saturdays a month if that. I will not have any employees, nor am I working bars, nightclubs, nor bail enforcement. They hit me off with a $900 down payment and almost $400 monthly payment for a year. Straight CROOKS!!!! The ROI (return-on-investment) isnt even worth it. I would be in debt at the end of the fiscal year if I took that deal. No worries, plenty of other insurance carriers out there.
Whether or not you agree with Fred, doesn't really concern me so I doubt that was the reason it was deleted. I don't usually delete comments unless they are disrespectful, so I'm not sure what you said that would have gotten your comment deleted. Either way, did you ask him what you could do to get that quote down? Generally speaking, it sounds like you would have to do more business to justify the the annual premium. I'm not sure why you think anyone is a crook because their quote is higher than what you wanted. Can you give me some insight into why you'd think that?

We are hearing that pretty consistently across all services. Maybe we should raise our prices...;-)
Great interview- Fred is a very knowledgeable and trustworthy source to the industry.
Coming from someone with your insurance background, that's a heck of a compliment. Would love to get you in front of a camera sometime soon. :-)

Hi. I’m starting a company, when should I get in insurance, should you get it before the contracts come or wait until the contracts come?

GL Insurance and Unemployement Taxes are profitability killers for sure. Have you talked with Fred Gardenour from DFA Insurance?
