So, neither myself nor my sibling have broken bones, but going off of what my grandfather had to do when his knee calcified (after surgery), I'm pretty sure the "hold him down while we re-break it" part is pretty accurate. Especially since they want to keep kids out of surgery (and anesthesia) if at all possible, they probably stabilized the rest of the arm as best they could, and broke it there in the office.
oh my God that's horrifying. I can't imagine that happening to me (in fact, I can't even imagine any part of my body being broken in the first place, let alone RE-BROKEN)
Actually as a child who’s broken 10 bones (and counting 4 toes right foot, both wrists my fingers and my nose and the only one I’ve had to have anaesthesia for is the nose) as long as the bone isn’t missalined you don’t need to reset the bone, it’s fine, you just get an uncomfortable X-Ray and your cast applied and then you’re stuck with it till it’s off. I got lucky the only thing that’s healed slightly crooked was my nose but it’s minimal, also no they generally don’t just break the bone while you’re awake I’m pretty sure that’s some kind of child abuse, at least where I’m from they have to give you a sedative or Anastasia because it lowers the risk of further damage or injuries, imagine trying to break a 12 year olds arm, thats some medieval sh*t 😭
One time when I was like 8 I was asleep and on the top bunk of a bunk bed. I was tossing and turning when all of a sudden I started falling gracefully down to the floor. It hurt a little bit, but I was ok. I climbed back up to the top bunk and went back to sleep. So, even at 8 years old I was really pain tolerant
To make you feel better about liking the taste of coins as a child, Matthew, I currently find the taste of pennies (and by extension most lil bits of metal, especially zippers) nice, and I used to constantly chew on zippers and just like… hold pennies on my tongue I don’t do it anymore because I know better (and am more concerned about how the texture of zippers and pennies feel on my teeth lol) One of my main stims used to be chewing zippers
oh my godd same! although I liked the taste of jewellery and zips. I dont do it anymore though because when I was roughly 10, I noticed that the colour was coming off when I was doing that, and I didn't want to practically be eating the colour.

⚠️Long Story⚠️When I was younger I liked to do stuff with friends, so I was over at a friends house and we decided that we would climb up on the second bed ( It was a bunk bed ) and we had a bunch of pillows and bean bags on the bottom and we would jump from the bed to the bean bags, no one got hurt but they’re mom came in and said for us to “settle down” which I didn’t know what that meant, and I thought that meant to quiet down so we quiet down and kept jumping, I ended up getting in trouble and sent back home. :/

the breaking the arm to fix it being crooked is basically how nose jobs work. they just break as much as they can of the nose to then make it heal in the way the patient wanted the nose. it's why when someone gets a nose job the nose is all swollen and bruised

Basically I was playing tag running around the doorways that connected the rooms in my grandparents house and I missed the doorway. Instead I smacked my face on the wall at full 4-6 year old speed. The first I remember afterwards is seeing blood dripping down into my field of vision.

1 story was when I was at my dead nana’s house they had a golf cart and they’re were no seat belts my older sister and my dad wanted to ride it on the road for a bit I was 4 at the time my eldest sister was 9 my dad was speeding we were in the country so they’re where no cops to stop him he was going as fast as he could on that thing then a turn came up but instead of slowing down he told us to hold on with everything we had and I did but it wasn’t enough he turned and I flew out the side head first into the cement and you know when a tire makes that stopping sound when you use the break’s apparently that’s what it sounded like after that it was a blur but apparently I just got up and walked it off there’s a bump on my forehead and there was blood but I was fine so after that dad went home and mom took me to the hospital but I was fine.

1 story was when I was at my dead nana’s house they had a golf cart and they’re were no seat belts my older sister and my dad wanted to ride it on the road for a bit I was 4 at the time my eldest sister was 9 my dad was speeding we were in the country so they’re where no cops to stop him he was going as fast as he could on that thing then a turn came up but instead of slowing down he told us to hold on with everything we had and I did but it wasn’t enough he turned and I flew out the side head first into the cement and you know when a tire makes that stopping sound when you use the break’s apparently that’s what it sounded like after that it was a blur but apparently I just got up and walked it off there’s a bump on my forehead and there was blood but I was fine so after that dad went home and mom took me to the hospital but I was fine.
