This should be researched and taught in schools throughout Asia, and also the world. Decolonisation is trending nowadays.
Yes, it is true. In reality Juan Sebastian Elcano was the one who had completed the voyage back to Spain, but even though Magellan did not survive the trip, he has received more recognition for the expedition than Elcano has, since Magellan was the one who started it, since Portugal wanted to recognize a Portuguese explorer, and due to fear of Basque nationalism (Elcano was a Basque in origin; a Southern European ethnic group). In 2019, the 500th anniversary of the voyage, Spain and Magellan’s native Portugal have submitted a new joint application to UNESCO to honour the circumnavigation route.😊👍
Enrique de Malacca is a Filipino from Visayas that is why he knows the route since Filipinos circumnavigate the world first before the Phoenicians. Filipinos are the ancient Polynesians.

Why doesn’t the Philippines have any remnants of ancient temples like that of other southeast Asian countries? Didn’t our ancestors build temples before the Spanish arrived?
We did. It was destroyed. Temples here are not as strongly built like it was in angkor wat or in any other ancient to early medieval known temples throughout southeast asia but it was built on a rather smaller scale similar to shinto temples but with southeast asian aesthetic instead. It's sturdy and big enough to house practicing shamans and babaylans but small and not invincible enough to be easily destroyed, unfortunately. I think they were called "dambanas", or something, and sometimes theyre in a form of sacred sites instead of shrines. That's what I've recalled in my history classes.
We have little to none stone temples back then, our places of worship were mostly made of wood but not just the ordinary bahay kubo type but massive wooden structures. When the spaniards came, it was all destroyed.
@@uglybepis3571 animists also have temples. They don't just have natural sacred sites to pray on. It's similar to buddhist-hindu-animist religions in southeast asia. Shintoism in Japan is an animist religion and they had temples located on sacred sites too. Also a lot of pre colonial kingdoms adopted the hindu religion and buddhist philosophies that they incorporate on their local animist beliefs, hence why there are epic, dances, stories, and writing scriptures influenced by brahmic scripts. The only ones who did not incorporate those religion onto their local animist beliefs are the tribes and other ethnicities who are not often associated with the south asian influences.

Kapatid - paano mag order?
Or potentially a separate country, pero with very similar culture and traditions of our neighboring countries.

Are there any existing pre colonial ruins in the Philippines, like in Angkor Wat?
Why doesn’t the Philippines have any remnants of ancient temples like that of other southeast Asian countries? Didn’t our ancestors build temples before the Spanish arrived?
Baka wala?
@@PonkChonk no we didn't. Most of Filipinos were Animistic, only the Royal Rulers were following the Indic religion
Salamat po sa inyong effort 😃🇵🇭
Kuya Sino po gumagawa Ng illustrations nyo. Super cute po
Paano sila natuto ng kastila? Nuon?
Maraming Salamat 😊
Only way to correct the false narratives regarding our ancestors given by our former colonizers is for us to tell our history, from our point of view.
Kaya pala me Portuguese tayong mga salita gaya ng baraha-baralho, saya-saia, preciso( mostly used by Kpmpangan as urgent) Sa español preciso ay sakto.
@@KirbyAraullo Thank you Sir.
@@micahbell7840 Amaya is the best we could get now about the precolonial philippines but it still fall short on accuracy because of budget. For example, Datus and Rajas houses should be huge and palatial but in Amaya, they are small. Another is the Karakoa, it was not that accurate since it was made from a pre-built boat rather than building from ground up.
Oh ano yung buong buhay nya. Salamat :)
